Once we understood how to boot VMs quickly, we next looked at how to prepare the large binary/toolchain payload. In our experience, we have seen that customers require binaries or toolchains in the size range of 1GB to 5GB. These toolchains depend on the vertical and could be used for rendering, genomics processing, and financial modeling. Based on this understanding, we recorded the timings for 1GB and 5GB binaries.
