The current code is giving up the spinlock in the middle of a completion list walk, and that opens up opportunity for list corruption if another thread touches the list at the same time. The current code is giving up the spinlock in the middle of a completion list walk, and that opens up opportunity for list corruption if another thread touches the list at the same time.
