When calling debugfs_lookup() the result must have dput() called on it,
otherwise the memory will leak over time. To make things simpler, just
call debugfs_lookup_and_remove() instead which handles all of the logic
at once.

Note, the root dentry for the debugfs directory for the device needs to
be saved so we don't have to keep looking it up, which required a bit

To update the I/O pins, the registers are read/modified/written. The
read operation incorrectly always read the first register. Although
wrong, there wasn't any impact as all the output pins are always
written, and the inputs are read only anyway.

During enumeration or composition switch,a userspace process
agnostic of the conventions of configs can try to create function
symlinks even after the UDC is bound to current config which is
not correct. Potentially it can create duplicates within the
current config.
Prevent this by adding a check if udc_name already exists, then bail
out of cfg_link.
Following is an example:

but the usb_function* pointer is different because in step 3
ffs_alloc has created a new reference to usb_function* for
ffs.a and added it to cfg_list.
Step4:
Now a composition switch involving <ffs.b,ffs.a> is executed.
the composition switch will involve 3 things:
1. unlinking the previous functions existing
2. creating new symlinks
3. writing UDC
However, the composition switch is generally taken care by
userspace process which creates the symlinks in its own
nomenclature(X*) and removes only those.
So it won't be able to remove Y1 which user had created
by own.
Due to this the new symlinks cannot be created for ffs.a
since the entry already exists in CFG->FUNC_LIST.
The state of the CFG->FUNC_LIST is as follows:

If the list does not contain the expected element, the value of
list_for_each_entry() iterator will not point to a valid structure.
To avoid type confusion in such case, the list iterator
scope will be limited to list_for_each_entry() loop.
In preparation to limiting scope of a list iterator to the list traversal
loop, use a dedicated pointer to point to the found element [1].
Determining if an element was found is then simply checking if
the pointer is != NULL instead of using the potentially bogus pointer.

If xdbc_bulk_write() fails, the values in 'buf' can be anything. So the
string is not guaranteed to be NULL terminated when xdbc_trace() is called.
Reserve an extra byte, which will be zeroed automatically because 'buf' is
a static variable, in order to avoid troubles, should it happen.

When request_irq(ires1->start) failed in w5300_hw_probe(), irq
ires->start has not been freed, and on the clean_up3 error path,
we also need to free ires1->start irq, fix it.
In addition, We should add free_irq in fusb300_remove(), and give
the lables a proper name so that they can be understood easily,
so add free_irq in fusb300_remove(), and update clean_up3 to
err_alloc_request.

Ever since commit 83e83ecb79 ("usb: core: get config and string
descriptors for unauthorized devices") was merged in 2013, there has
been no mechanism for reallocating the rawdescriptors buffers in
struct usb_device after the initial enumeration. Before that commit,
the buffers would be deallocated when a device was deauthorized and
reallocated when it was authorized and enumerated.
This means that the locking in the read_descriptors() routine is not
needed, since the buffers it reads will never be reallocated while the
routine is running. This locking can interfere with user programs
trying to read a hub's descriptors via sysfs while new child devices
of the hub are being initialized, since the hub is locked during this
procedure.
Since the locking in read_descriptors() hasn't been needed for over
nine years, we can remove it.

Consider a case where gserial_disconnect has already cleared
gser->ioport. And if a wakeup interrupt triggers afterwards,
gserial_resume gets called, which will lead to accessing of
gser->ioport and thus causing null pointer dereference.Add
a null pointer check to prevent this.
Added a static spinlock to prevent gser->ioport from becoming
null after the newly added check.

While checking Pin Assignments of the port and partner during probe, we
don't take into account whether the peripheral is a plug or receptacle.
This manifests itself in a mode entry failure on certain docks and
dongles with captive cables. For instance, the Startech.com Type-C to DP
dongle (Model #CDP2DP) advertises its DP VDO as 0x405. This would fail
the Pin Assignment compatibility check, despite it supporting
Pin Assignment C as a UFP.
Update the check to use the correct DP Pin Assign macros that
take the peripheral's receptacle bit into account.

The Alcor Link AK9563 smartcard reader used on some Lenovo platforms
doesn't work. If LPM is enabled the reader will provide an invalid
usb config descriptor. Added quirk to disable LPM.

Currently connect/disconnect of USB cable calls afunc_bind and
eventually increments the bNumEndpoints. Performing multiple
plugin/plugout will increment bNumEndpoints incorrectly, and on
the next plug-in it leads to invalid configuration of descriptor
and hence enumeration fails.
Fix this by resetting the value of bNumEndpoints to 1 on every
afunc_bind call.

__ffs_ep0_queue_wait executes holding the spinlock of &ffs->ev.waitq.lock
and unlocks it after the assignments to usb_request are done.
However in the code if the request is already NULL we bail out returning
-EINVAL but never unlocked the spinlock.
Fix this by adding spin_unlock_irq &ffs->ev.waitq.lock before returning.

As per the documentation, function usb_ep_free_request guarantees
the request will not be queued or no longer be re-queued (or
otherwise used). However, with the current implementation it
doesn't make sure that the request in ep0 isn't reused.
Fix this by dequeuing the ep0req on functionfs_unbind before
freeing the request to align with the definition.

While performing fast composition switch, there is a possibility that the
process of ffs_ep0_write/ffs_ep0_read get into a race condition
due to ep0req being freed up from functionfs_unbind.
Consider the scenario that the ffs_ep0_write calls the ffs_ep0_queue_wait
by taking a lock &ffs->ev.waitq.lock. However, the functionfs_unbind isn't
bounded so it can go ahead and mark the ep0req to NULL, and since there
is no NULL check in ffs_ep0_queue_wait we will end up in use-after-free.
Fix this by making a serialized execution between the two functions using
a mutex_lock(ffs->mutex).

The commit e00b488e81 ("usb-storage: Add Hiksemi USB3-FW to IGNORE_UAS")
blacklists UAS for all of RTL9210 enclosures.
The RTL9210 controller was advertised with UAS since its release back in
2019 and was shipped with a lot of enclosure products with different
firmware combinations.
Blacklist UAS only for HIKSEMI MD202.
This should hopefully be replaced with more robust method than just
comparing strings. But with limited information [1] provided thus far
(dmesg when the device is plugged in, which includes manufacturer and
product, but no lsusb -v to compare against), this is the best we can do
for now.

My analysis of registers and NULL ptr deref crash offset
(Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 000000000000005c)
heavily suggests that the crash is due to 'cdev->gadget' being NULL when executing:

which calls:
ncm_bitrate(NULL)
which then calls:
gadget_is_superspeed(NULL)
which reads
((struct usb_gadget *)NULL)->max_speed
and hits a panic.
AFAICT, if I'm counting right, the offset of max_speed is indeed 0x5C.
(remember there's a GKI KABI reservation of 16 bytes in struct work_struct)
It's not at all clear to me how this is all supposed to work...
but returning 0 seems much better than panic-ing...

Currently the color matching descriptor is only sent across the wire
a single time, following the descriptors for each format and frame.
According to the UVC 1.5 Specification 3.9.2.6 ("Color Matching
Descriptors"):
"Only one instance is allowed for a given format and if present,
the Color Matching descriptor shall be placed following the Video
and Still Image Frame descriptors for that format".
Add another reference to the color matching descriptor after the
yuyv frames so that it's correctly transmitted for that format
too.

Commit c1e5c2f0cb ("usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: correct pin
assignment for UFP receptacles") fixed the pin assignment calculation
to take into account whether the peripheral was a plug or a receptacle.
But the "pin_assignments" sysfs logic was not updated. Address this by
using the macros introduced in the aforementioned commit in the sysfs
logic too.

function.

There's the altmode re-registeration issue after data role
swap (DR_SWAP).
Comparing to USBPD 2.0, in USBPD 3.0, it loose the limit that only DFP
can initiate the VDM command to get partner identity information.
For a USBPD 3.0 UFP device, it may already get the identity information
from its port partner before DR_SWAP. If DR_SWAP send or receive at the
mean time, 'send_discover' flag will be raised again. It causes discover
identify action restart while entering ready state. And after all
discover actions are done, the 'tcpm_register_altmodes' will be called.
If old altmode is not unregistered, this sysfs create fail can be found.
In 'DR_SWAP_CHANGE_DR' state case, only DFP will unregister altmodes.
For UFP, the original altmodes keep registered.
This patch fix the logic that after DR_SWAP, 'tcpm_unregister_altmodes'
must be called whatever the current data role is.

Commit ca07e1c1e4 ("drivers:usb:fsl:Make fsl ehci drv an independent
driver module") changed DRV_NAME which was used for MODULE_ALIAS as well.
Starting from this the module alias didn't match the platform device
name created in fsl-mph-dr-of.c
Change DRV_NAME to match the driver name for host mode in fsl-mph-dr-of.
This is needed for module autoloading on ls1021a.

After doorbell DMA fetches the TRB. If during dequeuing request
driver changes NORMAL TRB to LINK TRB but doesn't delete it from
controller cache then controller will handle cached TRB and packet
can be lost.
The example scenario for this issue looks like:
1. queue request - set doorbell
2. dequeue request
3. send OUT data packet from host
4. Device will accept this packet which is unexpected
5. queue new request - set doorbell
6. Device lost the expected packet.
By setting DFLUSH controller clears DRDY bit and stop DMA transfer.

The syzbot fuzzer and Gerald Lee have identified a use-after-free bug
in the gadgetfs driver, involving processes concurrently mounting and
unmounting the gadgetfs filesystem. In particular, gadgetfs_fill_super()
can race with gadgetfs_kill_sb(), causing the latter to deallocate

The simplest solution is to ensure that gadgetfs_fill_super() and

The Texas Instruments TUSB8041 has an autosuspend problem at high
temperature.
If there is not USB traffic, after a couple of ms, the device enters in
autosuspend mode. In this condition the external clock stops working, to
save energy. When the USB activity turns on, ther hub exits the
autosuspend state, the clock starts running again and all works fine.
At ambient temperature all works correctly, but at high temperature,
when the USB activity turns on, the external clock doesn't restart and
the hub disappears from the USB bus.
Disabling the autosuspend mode for this hub solves the issue.

USB3 ports on xHC hosts may have retimers that cause too long
exit latency to work with native USB3 U1/U2 link power management states.
For now only use usb_acpi_port_lpm_incapable() to evaluate if port lpm
should be disabled while setting up the USB3 roothub.
Other ways to identify lpm incapable ports can be added here later if
ACPI _DSM does not exist.
Limit this to Intel hosts for now, this is to my knowledge only
an Intel issue.

One USB3 roothub port may support link power management, while another
root port on the same xHC can't due to different retimers used for
the ports.
This is the case with Intel Alder Lake, and possible future platforms
where retimers used for USB4 ports cause too long exit latecy to
enable native USB3 lpm U1 and U2 states.
Add a flag in the xhci port structure to indicate if the port is
lpm_incapable, and check it while calculating exit latency.

Allow PCI hosts to check and tune roothub and port settings
before the hub is up and running.
This override is needed to turn off U1 and U2 LPM for some ports
based on per port ACPI _DSM, _UPC, or possibly vendor specific mmio
values for Intel xHC hosts.
Usb core calls the host update_hub_device once it creates a hub.
Entering U1 or U2 link power save state on ports with this limitation
will cause link to fail, turning the usb device unusable in that setup.

Make sure xhci_free_dev() and xhci_kill_endpoint_urbs() do not race
and cause null pointer dereference when host suddenly dies.
Usb core may call xhci_free_dev() which frees the xhci->devs[slot_id]
virt device at the same time that xhci_kill_endpoint_urbs() tries to
loop through all the device's endpoints, checking if there are any
cancelled urbs left to give back.

When the host controller is not responding, all URBs queued to all
endpoints need to be killed. This can cause a kernel panic if we
dereference an invalid endpoint.
Fix this by using xhci_get_virt_ep() helper to find the endpoint and
checking if the endpoint is valid before dereferencing it.

Since commit 0f01017191 ("usb: dwc3: Don't switch OTG -> peripheral
if extcon is present") Dual Role support on Intel Merrifield platform
broke due to rearranging the call to dwc3_get_extcon().
It appears to be caused by ulpi_read_id() on the first test write failing
with -ETIMEDOUT. Currently ulpi_read_id() expects to discover the phy via
DT when the test write fails and returns 0 in that case, even if DT does not
provide the phy. As a result usb probe completes without phy.
Make ulpi_read_id() return -ETIMEDOUT to its user if the first test write
fails. The user should then handle it appropriately. A follow up patch
will make dwc3_core_init() set -EPROBE_DEFER in this case and bail out.

Make sure to also limit the amount of soft reset retries for transaction
errors on streams in cases where the transaction error event doesn't point
to any specific TRB.
In these cases we don't know the TRB or stream ring, but we do know which
endpoint had the error.
To keep error counting simple and functional, move the current err_count
from ring structure to endpoint structure.

Since commit 0f01017191 ("usb: dwc3: Don't switch OTG -> peripheral
if extcon is present"), Dual Role support on Intel Merrifield platform
broke due to rearranging the call to dwc3_get_extcon().
It appears to be caused by ulpi_read_id() masking the timeout on the first
test write. In the past dwc3 probe continued by calling dwc3_core_soft_reset()
followed by dwc3_get_extcon() which happend to return -EPROBE_DEFER.
On deferred probe ulpi_read_id() finally succeeded. Due to above mentioned
rearranging -EPROBE_DEFER is not returned and probe completes without phy.
On Intel Merrifield the timeout on the first test write issue is reproducible
but it is difficult to find the root cause. Using a mainline kernel and
rootfs with buildroot ulpi_read_id() succeeds. As soon as adding
ftrace / bootconfig to find out why, ulpi_read_id() fails and we can't
analyze the flow. Using another rootfs ulpi_read_id() fails even without
adding ftrace. We suspect the issue is some kind of timing / race, but
merely retrying ulpi_read_id() does not resolve the issue.
As we now changed ulpi_read_id() to return -ETIMEDOUT in this case, we
need to handle the error by calling dwc3_core_soft_reset() and request
-EPROBE_DEFER. On deferred probe ulpi_read_id() is retried and succeeds.

To send the ZLP driver must prepare the extra TRB in TD with
length set to zero and TRB type to TRB_NORMAL.

The embedded struct cdev does not have its lifetime correctly tied to
the enclosing struct f_hidg, so there is a use-after-free if /dev/hidgN
is held open while the gadget is deleted.
This can readily be replicated with libusbgx's example programs (for
conciseness - operating directly via configfs is equivalent):

Pull the existing device up in to struct f_hidg and make use of the
cdev_device_{add,del}() helpers. This changes the lifetime of the

Basic programmable non-PD Type-C port controllers do not need the full
TCPM library, but they share the same devicetree binding and the same
typec_capability structure. Factor out a helper for parsing those
properties which map to fields in struct typec_capability, so the code
can be shared between TCPM and basic non-TCPM drivers.

The err_role_put error path always calls fwnode_handle_put to release
the fwnode. This path can be reached after probe itself has already
released that fwnode though. Fix that by moving fwnode_handle_put in the
happy path to the very end.

I got the following report while doing device(mt6370-tcpc) load
test with CONFIG_OF_UNITTEST and CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC enabled:

The 'fwnode' set in tcpci_parse_config() which is called
in tcpci_register_port(), its node refcount is increased
in device_get_named_child_node(). It needs be put while
exiting, so call fwnode_handle_put() in the error path of
tcpci_register_port() and in tcpci_unregister_port() to
avoid leak.

The code in the FOTG210 driver isn't entirely endianness-agnostic
as reported by the kernel robot sparse testing. This came to
the surface while moving the files around.
The driver is only used on little-endian systems, so this causes
no real-world regression, but it is nice to be strict and have
some compile coverage also on big endian machines, so fix it
up with the right LE accessors.

The checks for musb->xceiv and musb->xceiv->set_power duplicate those in
usb_phy_set_power(), so there is no need of them. Moreover, not calling
usb_phy_set_power() results in usb_phy_set_charger_current() not being
called, so current USB config max current is not propagated through USB
charger framework and charger drivers may try to draw more current than
allowed or possible.
Fix that by removing those extra checks and calling usb_phy_set_power()
directly.
Tested on Motorola Droid4 and Nokia N900

ADL-N systems have the same issue as ADL-P, where a large boot firmware
delay is seen if USB ports are left in U3 at shutdown. So apply the
XHCI_RESET_TO_DEFAULT quirk to ADL-N as well.
This patch depends on commit 34cd2db408 ("xhci: Add quirk to reset
host back to default state at shutdown").
The issue it fixes is a ~20s boot time delay when booting from S5. It
affects ADL-N devices, and ADL-N support was added starting from v5.16.

The RF sniffers are based on cp210x where the RF frontends
are based on a different USB stack.
RF sniffers can analyze packets meta data including power level
and perform packet injection.
Can be used to perform RF frontend self-test when connected to
a concentrator, ex. arch/arm/boot/dts/imx7d-flex-concentrator.dts

Setup function uvc_function_setup permits control transfer
requests with up to 64 bytes of payload (UVC_MAX_REQUEST_SIZE),
data stage handler for OUT transfer uses memcpy to copy req->actual
bytes to uvc_event->data.data array of size 60. This may result
in an overflow of 4 bytes.

If there's a disconnection while operating in eSS, there may be a delay
in VBUS drop response from the connector. In that case, the internal
link state may drop to operate in usb2 speed while the controller thinks
the VBUS is still high. The driver must make sure to disable
GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY when sending endpoint command while in usb2 speed.
The End Transfer command may be called, and only that command needs to
go through at this point. Let's keep it simple and unconditionally
disable GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY whenever we issue the command.
This scenario is not seen in real hardware. In a rare case, our
prototype type-c controller/interface may have a slow response
triggerring this issue.

Until the endpoint is disabled, its descriptors should remain valid.
When its requests are removed from ep disable, the request completion
routine may attempt to access the endpoint's descriptor. Don't clear the
descriptors before that.

The functions stop_active_transfers and ep_disable are both calling
remove_requests. This functions in both cases will giveback the requests
with status ESHUTDOWN, which also represents an physical disconnection.
For ep_disable this is not true. This patch adds the status parameter to
remove_requests and sets the status to ECONNRESET on ep_disable.

During handling Clear Halt Endpoint Feature request, driver invokes
Reset Endpoint command. Because this command has some issue with
transition endpoint from Running to Idle state the driver must
stop the endpoint by using Stop Endpoint command.

There is no point to enter safe mode during DP/TBT configuration
if the DP/TBT was already configured in mux. This is because safe
mode is only applicable when there is a need to reconfigure the
pins in order to avoid damage within/to port partner.
In some chrome systems, IOM/mux is already configured before OS
comes up. Thus, when driver is probed, it blindly enters safe
mode due to PD negotiations but only after gfx driver lowers
dp_phy_ownership, will the IOM complete safe mode and send an
ack to PMC.
Since, that never happens, we see IPC timeout.
Hence, allow safe mode only when pin reconfiguration is not
required, which makes sense.

There is a deadlock in ci_otg_del_timer(), the process is
shown below:

We hold ci->lock in position (1) and use hrtimer_cancel() to
wait ci_otg_hrtimer_func() to stop, but ci_otg_hrtimer_func()
also need ci->lock in position (2). As a result, the
hrtimer_cancel() in ci_otg_del_timer() will be blocked forever.
This patch extracts hrtimer_cancel() from the protection of
spin_lock_irqsave() in order that the ci_otg_hrtimer_func()
could obtain the ci->lock.
What`s more, there will be no race happen. Because the
"next_timer" is always under the protection of
spin_lock_irqsave() and we only check whether "next_timer"
equals to NUM_OTG_FSM_TIMERS in the following code.

Before adding this quirk, this (mechanical keyboard) device would not be
recognized, logging:
new full-speed USB device number 56 using xhci_hcd
unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start: -32
chopping to 0 config(s)
It would take dozens of plugging/unpuggling cycles for the keyboard to
be recognized. Keyboard seems to simply work after applying this quirk.
This issue had been reported by users in two places already ([1], [2])
but nobody tried upstreaming a patch yet. After testing I believe their
suggested fix (DELAY_INIT + NO_LPM + DEVICE_QUALIFIER) was probably a
little overkill. I assume this particular combination was tested because
it had been previously suggested in [3], but only NO_LPM seems
sufficient for this device.

Add LARA-L6 PIDs for three different USB compositions.
LARA-L6 module can be configured (by AT interface) in three different
USB modes:
* Default mode (Vendor ID: 0x1546 Product ID: 0x1341) with 4 serial
interfaces
* RmNet mode (Vendor ID: 0x1546 Product ID: 0x1342) with 4 serial
interfaces and 1 RmNet virtual network interface
* CDC-ECM mode (Vendor ID: 0x1546 Product ID: 0x1343) with 4 serial
interface and 1 CDC-ECM virtual network interface
In default mode LARA-L6 exposes the following interfaces:

The official LARA-R6 (00B) modem uses 0x908b PID. LARA-R6 00B does not
implement a QMI interface on port 4, the reservation (RSVD(4)) has been
added to meet other companies that implement QMI on that interface.

Remove the UBLOX_PRODUCT_R6XX 0x90fa association since LARA-R6 00B final
product uses a new USB composition with different PID. 0x90fa PID used

What the code does is to not check the return value from
devm_gpiod_get() and then avoid using an erroneous GPIO descriptor
with IS_ERR_OR_NULL().
This will miss real errors from the GPIO core that should not be
ignored, such as probe deferral.
Instead request the GPIO as explicitly optional, which means that
if it doesn't exist, the descriptor returned will be NULL.
Then we can add error handling and also avoid just doing this on
the device tree path, and simplify the site where the optional
GPIO descriptor is used.
There were some problems with cleaning up this GPIO descriptor
use in the past, but this is the proper way to deal with it.

This reverts commit 6000b8d900.
The offending commit disabled the USB core PHY management as the dwc3
already manages the PHYs in question.
Unfortunately some platforms have started relying on having USB core
also controlling the PHY and this is specifically currently needed on
some Exynos platforms for PHY calibration or connected device may fail
to enumerate.
The PHY calibration was previously handled in the dwc3 driver, but to
work around some issues related to how the dwc3 driver interacts with
xhci (e.g. using multiple drivers) this was moved to USB core by commits
34c7ed72f4 ("usb: core: phy: add support for PHY calibration") and
a0a465569b ("usb: dwc3: remove generic PHY calibrate() calls").
The same PHY obviously should not be controlled from two different
places, which for example do no agree on the PHY mode or power state
during suspend, but as the offending patch was backported to stable,
let's revert it for now.

Endpoints are normally deleted from the bandwidth list when they are
dropped, before the virt device is freed.
If xHC host is dying or being removed then the endpoints aren't dropped
cleanly due to functions returning early to avoid interacting with a
non-accessible host controller.
So check and delete endpoints that are still on the bandwidth list when
freeing the virt device.
Solves a list_del corruption kernel crash when unbinding xhci-pci,
caused by xhci_mem_cleanup() when it later tried to delete already freed
endpoints from the bandwidth list.
This only affects hosts that use software bandwidth checking, which
currenty is only the xHC in intel Panther Point PCH (Ivy Bridge)

For optimal power consumption of USB4 routers the XHCI PCIe endpoint
used for tunneling must be in D3. Historically this is accomplished
by a long list of PCIe IDs that correspond to these endpoints because
the xhci_hcd driver will not default to allowing runtime PM for all
devices.
As both AMD and Intel have released new products with new XHCI controllers
this list continues to grow. In reviewing the XHCI specification v1.2 on
page 607 there is already a requirement that the PCI power management
states D3hot and D3cold must be supported.
In the quirk list, use this to indicate that runtime PM should be allowed
on XHCI controllers. The following controllers are known to be xHC 1.2 and
dropped explicitly:
* AMD Yellow Carp
* Intel Alder Lake
* Intel Meteor Lake
* Intel Raptor Lake

Systems based on Alder Lake P see significant boot time delay if
boot firmware tries to control usb ports in unexpected link states.
This is seen with self-powered usb devices that survive in U3 link
suspended state over S5.
A more generic solution to power off ports at shutdown was attempted in
commit 83810f84ec ("xhci: turn off port power in shutdown")
but it caused regression.
Add host specific XHCI_RESET_TO_DEFAULT quirk which will reset host and
ports back to default state in shutdown.

This appears to fix the error:

The gadget driver may have a certain expectation of how the request
completion flow should be from to its configuration. Make sure the
controller driver respect that. That is, don't set IMI (Interrupt on
Missed Isoc) when usb_request->no_interrupt is set. Also, the driver
should only set IMI to the last TRB of a chain.

When servicing a transfer completion event, the dwc3 driver will reclaim
TRBs of started requests up to the request associated with the interrupt
event. Currently we don't check for interrupt due to missed isoc, and
the driver may attempt to reclaim TRBs beyond the associated event. This
causes invalid memory access when the hardware still owns the TRB. If
there's a missed isoc TRB with IMI (interrupt on missed isoc), make sure
to stop servicing further.
Note that only the last TRB of chained TRBs has its status updated with
missed isoc.

In uvc_video_encode_isoc_sg, the uvc_request's sg list is
incorrectly being populated leading to corrupt video being
received by the remote end. When building the sg list the
usage of buf->sg's 'dma_length' field is not correct and

If there is a transmission error the buffer will be returned too early,
causing a memory fault as subsequent requests for that buffer are still
queued up to be sent. Refactor the error handling to wait for the final
request to come in before reporting back the buffer to userspace for all
transfer types (bulk/isoc/isoc_sg). This ensures userspace knows if the
frame was successfully sent.

On uvc_video_encode_isoc_sg the mapped vb2 buffer is returned
to early. Only after the last usb_request worked with the buffer

The function uvcg_queue_next_buffer is used different than its name
suggests. The return value nextbuf is never used by any caller. This
patch reworks the function to its actual purpose, by removing the unused
code and renaming it. The function name uvcg_complete_buffer makes it
more clear that it is actually marking the current video buffer as
complete.

In idmouse_create_image, if any ftip_command fails, it will
go to the reset label. However, this leads to the data in
bulk_in_buffer[HEADER..IMGSIZE] uninitialized. And the check
for valid image incurs an uninitialized dereference.
Fix this by moving the check before reset label since this
check only be valid if the data after bulk_in_buffer[HEADER]
has concrete data.
Note that this is found by KMSAN, so only kernel compilation
is tested.

This reverts commit 86d92f5465,
which fix the timeout issue for "Samsung Fit Flash".
But the commit affects not only "Samsung Fit Flash" but also other usb
storages that use the same controller and causes severe performance
regression.
# hdparm -t /dev/sda (without the quirk)
Timing buffered disk reads: 622 MB in 3.01 seconds = 206.66 MB/sec
# hdparm -t /dev/sda (with the quirk)
Timing buffered disk reads: 220 MB in 3.00 seconds = 73.32 MB/sec
The commit author mentioned that "Issue was reproduced after device has
bad block", so this quirk should be applied when we have the timeout
issue with a device that has bad blocks.
We revert the commit so that we apply this quirk by adding kernel
paramters using a bootloader or other ways when we really need it,
without the performance regression with devices that don't have the
issue.

When configured in HOST mode, after issuing U3/L2 exit controller fails
to send proper CRC checksum in CRC5 field. Because of this behavior
Transaction Error is generated, resulting in reset and re-enumeration of
usb device attached. Enabling chicken bit 10 of GUCTL1 will correct this
problem.
When this bit is set to '1', the UTMI/ULPI opmode will be changed to
"normal" along with HS terminations, term, and xcvr signals after EOR.
This option is to support certain legacy UTMI/ULPI PHYs.
Added "snps,resume-hs-terminations" quirk to resolved the above issue.

The usb function device call musb_gadget_queue() adds the passed
request to musb_ep::req_list,If the (request->length > musb_ep->packet_sz)
and (is_buffer_mapped(req) return false),the rxstate() will copy all data
in fifo to request->buf which may cause request->buf out of bounds.
Fix it by add the length check :
fifocnt = min_t(unsigned, request->length - request->actual, fifocnt);

xhci_alloc_stream_info() allocates stream context array for stream_info
->stream_ctx_array with xhci_alloc_stream_ctx(). When some error occurs,
stream_info->stream_ctx_array is not released, which will lead to a
memory leak.
We can fix it by releasing the stream_info->stream_ctx_array with
xhci_free_stream_ctx() on the error path to avoid the potential memory
leak.

Introduce XHCI_SUSPEND_RESUME_CLKS quirk as a means to suspend and resume

When the dr_mode is "host", after the host enter runtime suspend,
the mtu3 can't do it, because the mtu3's device wakeup function is
not enabled, instead it's enabled in gadget init function, to fix
the issue, init wakeup early in mtu3's probe()

When opts->pnp_string is changed with configfs, new memory is allocated for
the string. It does not, however, update dev->pnp_string, even though the
memory is freed. When rquesting the string, the host then gets old or
corrupted data rather than the new string. The ieee 1284 id string should
be allowed to change while the device is connected.
The bug was introduced in commit fdc01cc286 ("usb: gadget: printer:
Remove pnp_string static buffer"), which changed opts->pnp_string from a
char[] to a char*.
This patch changes dev->pnp_string from a char* to a char** pointing to
opts->pnp_string.

commit 8b328f8002 ("xhci: re-initialize the HC during resume if HCE was
set") introduced a new warning message when the host controller error
was set and re-initializing.
This is expected behavior on some designs which already set
`xhci->broken_suspend` so the new warning is alarming to some users.
Modify the code to only show the warning if this was a surprising behavior
to the XHCI driver.

The Lenovo OneLink+ Dock contains two VL812 USB3.0 controllers:

These hubs suffer from two separate problems:
1) After the host system was suspended and woken up, the hubs appear to
be in a random state. Some downstream ports (both internal to the
built-in audio and network controllers, and external to USB sockets)
may no longer be functional. The exact list of disabled ports (if
any) changes from wakeup to wakeup. Ports remain in that state until
the dock is power-cycled, or until the laptop is rebooted.
Wakeup sources connected to the hubs (keyboard, WoL on the integrated
gigabit controller) will wake the system up from suspend, but they
may no longer work after wakeup (and in that case will no longer work
as wakeup source in a subsequent suspend-wakeup cycle).
This issue appears in the logs with messages such as:

usb 1-6.1-port1: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
usb 1-6.1-port1: cannot disable (err = -71)
2) Some USB devices cannot be enumerated properly. So far I have only
seen the issue with USB 3.0 devices. The same devices work without
problem directly connected to the host system, to other systems or to
other hubs (even when those hubs are connected to the OneLink+ dock).
One very reliable reproducer is this USB 3.0 HDD enclosure:

I have seen it happen sporadically with other USB 3.0 enclosures,
with controllers from different manufacturers, all self-powered.

Through trial and error, I found that the USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME solved
the second issue. Further testing then uncovered the first issue. Test
results are summarized in this table:

In those results, the power/control settings are applied to both hubs,
both on the USB2 and USB3 side, before each test.
From those results, USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME is required to reset the hubs
properly after a suspend-wakeup cycle, and the hubs must not autosuspend
to work around the USB3 issue.
A secondary effect of USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME is to prevent the hubs'
upstream links from suspending (the downstream ports can still suspend).
This secondary effect is used in results (1). It is enough to solve the
USB3 problem.
Setting USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME on those hubs is the smallest patch that
solves both issues.
Prior to creating this patch, I have used the USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME via
the kernel command line for over a year without noticing any side
effect.

Syzbot found an issue in usbmon module, where the user space client can
corrupt the monitor's internal memory, causing the usbmon module to
crash the kernel with segfault, UAF, etc.
The reproducer mmaps the /dev/usbmon memory to user space, and
overwrites it with arbitrary data, which causes all kinds of issues.
Return an -EPERM error from mon_bin_mmap() if the flag VM_WRTIE is set.
Also clear VM_MAYWRITE to make it impossible to change it to writable
later.

Sink only devices do not have any source capabilities, so
the driver should not warn about that. Also DRP (Dual Role
Power) capable devices, such as USB Type-C docking stations,
do not return any source capabilities unless they are
plugged to a power supply themselves.

On some DWC3 controllers (e.g. Rockchip SoCs), the DWC3 core
doesn't support 64-bit DMA address width. In this case, this
driver should use the default 32-bit mask. Otherwise, the DWC3
controller will break if it runs on above 4GB physical memory
environment.
This patch reads the DWC_USB3_AWIDTH bits of GHWPARAMS0 which
used for the DMA address width, and only configure 64-bit DMA
mask if the DWC_USB3_AWIDTH is 64.

The Lenovo OneLink+ Dock contains two VL812 USB3.0 controllers:
17ef:1018 upstream
17ef:1019 downstream
Those two controllers both have problems with some USB3.0 devices,
particularly self-powered ones. Typical error messages include:
Timeout while waiting for setup device command
device not accepting address X, error -62
unable to enumerate USB device
By process of elimination the controllers themselves were identified as
the cause of the problem. Through trial and error the issue was solved
by using USB_QUIRK_RESET_RESUME for both chips.

Relocate the pullups_connected check until after it is ensured that there
are no runtime PM transitions. If another context triggered the DWC3
core's runtime resume, it may have already enabled the Run/Stop. Do not
re-run the entire pullup sequence again, as it may issue a core soft
reset while Run/Stop is already set.

If the GEVNTCOUNT indicates events in the event buffer, the driver needs
to acknowledge them before the controller can halt. Simply let the
interrupt handler acknowledges the remaining event generated by the
controller while polling for DSTS.DEVCTLHLT. This avoids disabling irq
and taking care of race condition between the interrupt handlers and
pullup().

Don't do soft-disconnect if it's previously done. Likewise, don't do
soft-connect if the device is currently connected and running. It would
break normal operation.
Currently the caller of pullup() (udc's sysfs soft_connect) only checks
if it had initiated disconnect to prevent repeating soft-disconnect. It
doesn't check for soft-connect. To be safe, let's keep the check here
regardless whether the udc core is fixed.

It is recommended by the Synopsis databook to issue a DCTL.CSftReset
when reconnecting from a device-initiated disconnect routine. This
resolves issues with enumeration during fast composition switching
cases, which result in an unknown device on the host.

There is a race present where the DWC3 runtime resume runs in parallel
to the UDC unbind sequence. This will eventually lead to a possible
scenario where we are enabling the run/stop bit, without a valid
composition defined.
Thread#1 (handling UDC unbind):

Fix this by tracking the pullup disable routine, and avoiding resuming
of the DWC3 gadget. Once the UDC is re-binded, that will trigger the
pullup enable routine, which would handle enabling the DWC3 gadget.

On page 362 of the USB3.2 specification (

The 'SuperSpeed Endpoint Companion Descriptor' shall only be returned
by Enhanced SuperSpeed devices that are operating at Gen X speed.
Each endpoint described in an interface is followed by a 'SuperSpeed
Endpoint Companion Descriptor'.
If users use SuperSpeed UDC, host can't recognize the device if endpoint
doesn't have 'SuperSpeed Endpoint Companion Descriptor' followed.
Currently in the uac2 driver code:
1. ss_epout_desc_comp follows ss_epout_desc;
2. ss_epin_fback_desc_comp follows ss_epin_fback_desc;
3. ss_epin_desc_comp follows ss_epin_desc;
4. Only ss_ep_int_desc endpoint doesn't have 'SuperSpeed Endpoint
Companion Descriptor' followed, so we should add it.

to test usb write < 30MB/s.

At least one older CH341 appears to have the RX timer enable bit
inverted so that setting it disables the RX timer and prevents the FIFO
from emptying until it is full.
Only set the RX timer enable bit for devices with version newer than
0x27 (even though this probably affects all pre-0x30 devices).

Disable LCR updates for pre-0x30 devices which use a different (unknown)
protocol for line control and where the current register write causes
the next received character to be lost.
Note that updating LCR using the INIT command has no effect on these
devices either.

The dwc3 driver manages its PHYs itself so the USB core PHY management
needs to be disabled.
Use the struct xhci_plat_priv hack added by commits 46034a999c ("usb:
host: xhci-plat: add platform data support") and f768e71891 ("usb:
host: xhci-plat: add priv quirk for skip PHY initialization") to
propagate the setting for now.
