Provide a new interface function to be used by the ap drivers:
struct ap_queue *ap_get_qdev(ap_qid_t qid);
Returns ptr to the struct ap_queue device or NULL if there
was no ap_queue device with this qid found. When something is
found, the reference count of the embedded device is increased.
So the caller has to decrease the reference count after use
with a call to put_device(&aq->ap_dev.device).
With this patch also the ap_card_list is removed from the
ap core code and a new hashtable is introduced which stores
hnodes of all the ap queues known to the ap bus.
The hashtable approach and a first implementation of this
interface comes from a previous patch from
Anthony Krowiak and an idea from Halil Pasic.

snprintf() may not always return the correct size of used bytes but
instead the length the resulting string would be if it would fit into

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

The internal statistic counters for the total number of
requests processed per card and per queue used integers. So they do
wrap after a rather huge amount of crypto requests processed. This
patch introduces uint64 counters which should hold much longer but
still may wrap. The sysfs attributes request_count for card and queue
also used only %ld and now display the counter value with %llu.
This is not a security relevant fix. The int overflow which happened

Extend the low level ep11 misc functions implementation by
several functions to support EP11 key objects for paes and pkey:
- EP11 AES secure key generation
- EP11 AES secure key generation from given clear key value
- EP11 AES secure key blob check
- findcard function returns list of apqns based on given criterias
- EP11 AES secure key derive to CPACF protected key
Extend the pkey module to be able to generate and handle EP11
secure keys and also use them as base for deriving protected
keys for CPACF usage. These ioctls are extended to support
EP11 keys: PKEY_GENSECK2, PKEY_CLR2SECK2, PKEY_VERIFYKEY2,
PKEY_APQNS4K, PKEY_APQNS4KT, PKEY_KBLOB2PROTK2.
Additionally the 'clear key' token to protected key now uses
an EP11 card if the other ways (via PCKMO, via CCA) fail.
The PAES cipher implementation needed a new upper limit for
the max key size, but is now also working with EP11 keys.

This patch introduces new sysfs attributes for EP11 cards
and queues:
An EP11 card gets four new sysfs attributes:
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/API_ordinalnr
The EP11 card firmware API ordinal number.
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/FW_version
The EP11 card firmware major and minor version.
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/serialnr
Displays the serial number of the EP11 card. The serial
number is a 16 character string unique for this EP11 card.
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/op_modes
Displays operation modes for this EP11 card. Known operation
modes are: FIPS2009, BSI2009, FIPS2011, BSI2011 and BSICC2017.
The EP11 queues get two new sysfs attributes:
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/xx.yyyy/mkvps
Displays information about the master key(s) states and
verification patterns. Two lines are displayed:
WK CUR: <wk_cur_state> <wk_cur_vp>
WK NEW: <wk_new_state> <wk_new_vp>
with
<wk_cur_state>: 'invalid' or 'valid'
<wk_new_state>: 'empty' or 'uncommitted' or 'committed'
<wk_cur_vp> and <wk_new_vp>: '-' or a 32 byte hash pattern
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/xx.yyyy/op_modes
Displays operation modes for this EP11 queue. Known operation
modes are: FIPS2009, BSI2009, FIPS2011, BSI2011 and BSICC2017.
The card information displayed with the sysfs attributes is fresh
fetched from the card if the card is online, otherwise cached values
are used. The queue information displayed with the sysfs attributes is
always fetched on the fly and not cached. So each read of any of these
sysfs attributes will cause an request/reply CPRB communication with
the EP11 crypto card. The queue attributes address the corresponding
EP11 domain within the EP11 card. The card attributes addresses any
domain within the EP11 card (subject to the dispatch algorithm within
the zcrypt device driver). If the addressed domain is offline or for
card addressing all domains are offline the attributes will display
'-' for state and verification patterns and an empty string for op
mode, serial number, API_ordinalnr and FW_version.

This patch introduces two new files which provide some
low level functions to interact with EP11 crypto cards:
ep11_get_card_info() sends an EP11 query module info CPRB to the
addressed card, processes the returning reply and exposes some of
the information returned in the new ep11_card_info struct.
ep11_get_domain_info() sends an EP11 query domain info CPRB to the
addressed card/queue, processes the returning reply and exposes some
of the information returned in the new ep11_domain_info struct.

For EP11 CPRBs there was only to choose between specify
one or more ep11 targets or not give a target at all. Without
any target the zcrypt code assumed AUTOSELECT. For EP11 this
ended up in choosing any EP11 APQN with regards to the weight.
However, CCA CPRBs can have a more fine granular target
addressing. The caller can give 0xFFFF as AUTOSELECT for
the card and/or the domain. So it's possible to address
any card but domain given or any domain but card given.
This patch now introduces the very same for EP11 CPRB handling.
An EP11 target entry now may contain 0xFFFF as card and/or
domain value with the meaning of ANY card or domain. So
now the same behavior as with CCA CPRBs becomes possible:
Address any card with given domain or address any domain within
given card.
For convenience the zcrypt.h header file now has two new
defines AUTOSEL_AP and AUTOSEL_DOM covering the 0xFFFF
value to address card any and domain any.

This patch adds support for a new key blob format to the
pkey kernel module. The new key blob comprises a clear
key value together with key type information.
The implementation tries to derive an protected key
from the blob with the clear key value inside with
1) the PCKMO instruction. This may fail as the LPAR
profile may disable this way.
2) Generate an CCA AES secure data key with exact the
clear key value. This requires to have a working
crypto card in CCA Coprocessor mode. Then derive
an protected key from the CCA AES secure key again
with the help of a working crypto card in CCA mode.
If both way fail, the transformation of the clear key
blob into a protected key will fail. For the PAES cipher
this would result in a failure at setkey() invocation.
A clear key value exposed in main memory is a security
risk. The intention of this new 'clear key blob' support
for pkey is to provide self-tests for the PAES cipher key
implementation. These known answer tests obviously need
to be run with well known key values. So with the clear
key blob format there is a way to provide knwon answer
tests together with an pkey clear key blob for the
in-kernel self tests done at cipher registration.

This patch moves the reset invocation of an ap device when
fresh detected from the ap bus to the probe() function of
the driver responsible for this device.
The virtualisation of ap devices makes it necessary to
remove unconditioned resets on fresh appearing apqn devices.
It may be that such a device is already enabled for guest
usage. So there may be a race condition between host ap bus
and guest ap bus doing the reset. This patch moves the
reset from the ap bus to the zcrypt drivers. So if there
is no zcrypt driver bound to an ap device - for example
the ap device is bound to the vfio device driver - the
ap device is untouched passed to the vfio device driver.

This patch introduces support for a new architectured reply
code 0x8B indicating that a hypervisor layer (if any) has
rejected an ap message.
Linux may run as a guest on top of a hypervisor like zVM
or KVM. So the crypto hardware seen by the ap bus may be
restricted by the hypervisor for example only a subset like
only clear key crypto requests may be supported. Other
requests will be filtered out - rejected by the hypervisor.
The new reply code 0x8B will appear in such cases and needs
to get recognized by the ap bus and zcrypt device driver zoo.

a cat-like interface.
A typical use case for those keys is to encrypt a swap device
using the paes cipher. During processing of /etc/crypttab, the
CCA random AES CIPHER secure key to encrypt the swap device is
read from one of the attributes.
The following attributes are added:
ccacipher/ccacipher_aes_128
ccacipher/ccacipher_aes_192
ccacipher/ccacipher_aes_256
ccacipher/ccacipher_aes_128_xts
ccacipher/ccacipher_aes_256_xts
Each attribute emits a secure key blob for the corresponding
key size and cipher mode.

Pull LED updates from Jacek Anaszewski:
"In this cycle we've finally managed to contribute the patch set
sorting out LED naming issues. Besides that there are many changes
scattered among various LED class drivers and triggers.
LED naming related improvements:
- add new 'function' and 'color' fwnode properties and deprecate
'label' property which has been frequently abused for conveying
vendor specific names that have been available in sysfs anyway
- introduce a set of standard LED_FUNCTION* definitions
- introduce a set of standard LED_COLOR_ID* definitions
- add a new {devm_}led_classdev_register_ext() API with the
capability of automatic LED name composition basing on the
properties available in the passed fwnode; the function is
backwards compatible in a sense that it uses 'label' data, if
present in the fwnode, for creating LED name
- add tools/leds/get_led_device_info.sh script for retrieving LED
vendor, product and bus names, if applicable; it also performs
basic validation of an LED name
- update following drivers and their DT bindings to use the new LED
registration API:
- leds-an30259a, leds-gpio, leds-as3645a, leds-aat1290, leds-cr0014114,
leds-lm3601x, leds-lm3692x, leds-lp8860, leds-lt3593, leds-sc27xx-blt
Other LED class improvements:
- replace {devm_}led_classdev_register() macros with inlines
- allow to call led_classdev_unregister() unconditionally
- switch to use fwnode instead of be stuck with OF one
LED triggers improvements:
- led-triggers:
- fix dereferencing of null pointer
- fix a memory leak bug
- ledtrig-gpio:
- GPIO 0 is valid
Drop superseeded apu2/3 support from leds-apu since for apu2+ a newer,

- drop profile field from priv data
- drop iosize field from priv data
- drop enum_apu_led_platform_types
- drop superseeded apu2/3 led support

Tests showed that the keygenflags parameter is not handled
correctly within the zcrypt ccamisc generate cca cipher key
code. A similar code is used with cca cipher key value import
and there the flags are handled correctly. For unknown reason
these lines have not been updated for the generate function
and so this patch now introduces these two lines of code.
This affects only pkey with the use of CCA cipher keys and
the use of additional key generate flags.

Introduce new ioctls and structs to be used with these new ioctls
which are able to handle CCA AES secure keys and CCA AES cipher keys:
PKEY_GENSECK2: Generate secure key, version 2.
Generate either a CCA AES secure key or a CCA AES cipher key.
PKEY_CLR2SECK2: Generate secure key from clear key value, version 2.
Construct a CCA AES secure key or CCA AES cipher key from a given
clear key value.
PKEY_VERIFYKEY2: Verify the given secure key, version 2.
Check for correct key type. If cardnr and domain are given, also
check if this apqn is able to handle this type of key. If cardnr and
domain are 0xFFFF, on return these values are filled with an apqn
able to handle this key. The function also checks for the master key
verification patterns of the key matching to the current or
alternate mkvp of the apqn. CCA AES cipher keys are also checked
for CPACF export allowed (CPRTCPAC flag). Currently CCA AES secure
keys and CCA AES cipher keys are supported (may get extended in the
future).
PKEY_KBLOB2PROTK2: Transform a key blob (of any type) into
a protected key, version 2. Difference to version 1 is only that
this new ioctl has additional parameters to provide a list of
apqns to be used for the transformation.
PKEY_APQNS4K: Generate a list of APQNs based on the key blob given.
Is able to find out which type of secure key is given (CCA AES
secure key or CCA AES cipher key) and tries to find all matching
crypto cards based on the MKVP and maybe other criterias (like CCA
AES cipher keys need a CEX6C or higher). The list of APQNs is
further filtered by the key's mkvp which needs to match to either
the current mkvp or the alternate mkvp (which is the old mkvp on CCA
adapters) of the apqns. The flags argument may be used to limit the
matching apqns. If the PKEY_FLAGS_MATCH_CUR_MKVP is given, only the
current mkvp of each apqn is compared. Likewise with the
PKEY_FLAGS_MATCH_ALT_MKVP. If both are given it is assumed to return
apqns where either the current or the alternate mkvp matches. If no
matching APQN is found, the ioctl returns with 0 but the
apqn_entries value is 0.
PKEY_APQNS4KT: Generate a list of APQNs based on the key type given.
Build a list of APQNs based on the given key type and maybe further
restrict the list by given master key verification patterns.
For different key types there may be different ways to match the
master key verification patterns. For CCA keys (CCA data key and CCA
cipher key) the first 8 bytes of cur_mkvp refer to the current mkvp
value of the apqn and the first 8 bytes of the alt_mkvp refer to the
old mkvp. The flags argument controls if the apqns current and/or
alternate mkvp should match. If the PKEY_FLAGS_MATCH_CUR_MKVP is
given, only the current mkvp of each apqn is compared. Likewise with
the PKEY_FLAGS_MATCH_ALT_MKVP. If both are given, it is assumed to
return apqns where either the current or the alternate mkvp
matches. If no matching APQN is found, the ioctl returns with 0 but
the apqn_entries value is 0.
These new ioctls are now prepared for another new type of secure key
blob which may come in the future. They all use a pointer to the key
blob and a key blob length information instead of some hardcoded byte
array. They all use the new enums pkey_key_type, pkey_key_size and
pkey_key_info for getting/setting key type, key size and additional
info about the key. All but the PKEY_VERIFY2 ioctl now work based on a
list of apqns. This list is walked through trying to perform the
operation on exactly this apqn without any further checking (like card
type or online state). If the apqn fails, simple the next one in the
list is tried until success (return 0) or the end of the list is
reached (return -1 with errno ENODEV). All apqns in the list need to
be exact apqns (0xFFFF as any card or domain is not allowed). There
are two new ioctls which can be used to build a list of apqns based on
a key or key type and maybe restricted by match to a current or
alternate master key verifcation pattern.

This patch extends the sysfs interface with two new attributes for the
CEX4, CEX5 and CEX6 crypto cards/queues in coprocessor ('CCA') mode:
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/serialnr
/sys/devices/ap/cardxx/xx.yyyy/mkvps
The serialnr attribute is card based and shows the 8 character ASCII
serial number string which should unique identify the card.
The mkvps is queue based and displays 3 lines of information about the
new, current and old master key register:
AES NEW: <new_aes_mk_state> <new_aes_mk_mkvp>
AES CUR: <cur_aes_mk_state> <cur_aes_mk_mkvp>
AES OLD: <old_aes_mk_state> <old_aes_mk_mkvp>
with
<new_aes_mk_state>: 'empty' or 'partial' or 'full'
<cur_aes_mk_state>: 'valid' or 'invalid'
<old_aes_mk_state>: 'valid' or 'invalid'
<new_aes_mk_mkvp>, <cur_aes_mk_mkvp>, <old_aes_mk_mkvp>
8 byte hex string with leading 0x
MKVP means Master Key Verification Pattern and is a folded hash over
the key value. Only the states 'full' and 'valid' result in displaying
a useful mkvp, otherwise a mkvp of all bytes zero is shown. If for any
reason the FQ fails and the (cached) information is not available, the
state '-' will be shown with the mkvp value also '-'. The values shown
here are the very same as the cca panel tools displays. As of now only
the AES master keys states and verification patterns are shown. A CCA
APQN also has similar master key registers for DES, RSA and ECC. So
the content of this attribute may get extended.
Reading the sysfs attribute automatically triggers an FQ CPRB to be
sent to the queue as long as the queue is (soft-) online. For the
serialnr attribute the queue with the default domain id is addressed
(if available and valid). This is reasonable as it is assumed that
this sysfs interface is not performance critical and on the other side
a master key change should be visiable as soon as possible. When a
queue is (soft-) offline however, the cached values are displayed. If
no cached values are available, the serial number string will be empty
and the mkvp lines will show state '-' and mkvp value '-'.

Here is the "big" driver core and debugfs changes for 5.3-rc1
It's a lot of different patches, all across the tree due to some api
changes and lots of debugfs cleanups. Because of this, there is going
to be some merge issues with your tree at the moment, I'll follow up
with the expected resolutions to make it easier for you.
Other than the debugfs cleanups, in this set of changes we have:
- bus iteration function cleanups (will cause build warnings
with s390 and coresight drivers in your tree)
- scripts/get_abi.pl tool to display and parse Documentation/ABI
entries in a simple way
- cleanups to Documenatation/ABI/ entries to make them parse
easier due to typos and other minor things
- default_attrs use for some ktype users
- driver model documentation file conversions to .rst
- compressed firmware file loading
- deferred probe fixes
All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with a bunch of merge
issues that Stephen has been patient with me for. Other than the merge
issues, functionality is working properly in linux-next :)

We register a AP PQAP instruction hook during the open
of the mediated device. And unregister it on release.
During the probe of the AP device, we allocate a vfio_ap_queue
structure to keep track of the information we need for the
PQAP/AQIC instruction interception.
In the AP PQAP instruction hook, if we receive a demand to
enable IRQs,
- we retrieve the vfio_ap_queue based on the APQN we receive
in REG1,
- we retrieve the page of the guest address, (NIB), from
register REG2
- we retrieve the mediated device to use the VFIO pinning
infrastructure to pin the page of the guest address,
- we retrieve the pointer to KVM to register the guest ISC
and retrieve the host ISC
- finaly we activate GISA
If we receive a demand to disable IRQs,
- we deactivate GISA
- unregister from the GIB
- unpin the NIB
When removing the AP device from the driver the device is
reseted and this process unregisters the GISA from the GIB,
and unpins the NIB address then we free the vfio_ap_queue
structure.

To be able to use the VFIO interface to facilitate the
mediated device memory pinning/unpinning we need to register
a notifier for IOMMU.
While we will start to pin one guest page for the interrupt indicator
byte, this is still ok with ballooning as this page will never be
used by the guest virtio-balloon driver.
So the pinned page will never be freed. And even a broken guest does
so, that would not impact the host as the original page is still
in control by vfio.

We prepare the interception of the PQAP/AQIC instruction for
the case the AQIC facility is enabled in the guest.
First of all we do not want to change existing behavior when
intercepting AP instructions without the SIE allowing the guest
to use AP instructions.
In this patch we only handle the AQIC interception allowed by
facility 65 which will be enabled when the complete interception
infrastructure will be present.
We add a callback inside the KVM arch structure for s390 for
a VFIO driver to handle a specific response to the PQAP
instruction with the AQIC command and only this command.
But we want to be able to return a correct answer to the guest
even there is no VFIO AP driver in the kernel.
Therefor, we inject the correct exceptions from inside KVM for the
case the callback is not initialized, which happens when the vfio_ap
driver is not loaded.
We do consider the responsibility of the driver to always initialize
the PQAP callback if it defines queues by initializing the CRYCB for
a guest.
If the callback has been setup we call it.
If not we setup an answer considering that no queue is available
for the guest when no callback has been setup.

There is an arbitrary difference between the prototypes of
bus_find_device() and class_find_device() preventing their callers
from passing the same pair of data and match() arguments to both of
them, which is the const qualifier used in the prototype of
class_find_device(). If that qualifier is also used in the
bus_find_device() prototype, it will be possible to pass the same
match() callback function to both bus_find_device() and
class_find_device(), which will allow some optimizations to be made in
order to avoid code duplication going forward. Also with that, constify
the "data" parameter as it is passed as a const to the match function.
For this reason, change the prototype of bus_find_device() to match
the prototype of class_find_device() and adjust its callers to use the
const qualifier in accordance with the new prototype of it.

systemd-modules-load.service automatically tries to load the pkey module
on systems that have MSA.
Pkey also requires the MSA3 facility and a bunch of subfunctions.
Failing with -EOPNOTSUPP makes "systemd-modules-load.service" fail on
any system that does not have all needed subfunctions. For example,
when running under QEMU TCG (but also on systems where protected keys
are disabled via the HMC).
Let's use -ENODEV, so systemd-modules-load.service properly ignores
failing to load the pkey module because of missing HW functionality.
While at it, also convert the -EOPNOTSUPP in pkey_clr2protkey() to -ENODEV.

Within an EP11 cprb there exists a byte field flags. Bit 0x20
of this field indicates a special cprb. A special cprb triggers
special handling in the firmware below the OS layer.
However, a special cprb also needs to have the S bit in GPR0
set when NQAP is called. This was not the case for EP11 cprbs
and this patch now introduces the code to support this.

The zcrypt device driver does not handle CPRBs which address
a control domain correctly. This fix introduces a workaround:
The domain field of the request CPRB is checked if there is
a valid domain value in there. If this is true and the value
is a control only domain (a domain which is enabled in the
crypto config ADM mask but disabled in the AQM mask) the
CPRB is forwarded to the default usage domain. If there is
no default domain, the request is rejected with an ENODEV.
This fix is important for maintaining crypto adapters. For
example one LPAR can use a crypto adapter domain ('Control
and Usage') but another LPAR needs to be able to maintain
this adapter domain ('Control'). Scenarios like this did
not work properly and the patch enables this.

Pull stream_open conversion from Kirill Smelkov:
- remove unnecessary double nonseekable_open from drivers/char/dtlk.c
as noticed by Pavel Machek while reviewing nonseekable_open ->
stream_open mass conversion.
- the mass conversion patch promised in commit 10dce8af34 ("fs:
stream_open - opener for stream-like files so that read and write can
run simultaneously without deadlock") and is automatically generated
by running
$ make coccicheck MODE=patch COCCI=scripts/coccinelle/api/stream_open.cocci
I've verified each generated change manually - that it is correct to
convert - and each other nonseekable_open instance left - that it is
either not correct to convert there, or that it is not converted due
to current stream_open.cocci limitations. More details on this in the
patch.
- finally, change VFS to pass ppos=NULL into .read/.write for files
that declare themselves streams. It was suggested by Rasmus Villemoes
and makes sure that if ppos starts to be erroneously used in a stream
file, such bug won't go unnoticed and will produce an oops instead of
creating illusion of position change being taken into account.
Note: this patch does not conflict with "fuse: Add FOPEN_STREAM to
use stream_open()" that will be hopefully coming via FUSE tree,
because fs/fuse/ uses new-style .read_iter/.write_iter, and for these
accessors position is still passed as non-pointer kiocb.ki_pos .

One can also recheck/review the patch via generating it with explanation comments included via
$ make coccicheck MODE=patch COCCI=scripts/coccinelle/api/stream_open.cocci SPFLAGS="-D explain"
(*) This second group also contains cases with read/write deadlocks that
stream_open.cocci don't yet detect, but which are still valid to convert to
stream_open since ppos is not used. For example drivers/pci/switch/switchtec.c
calls wait_for_completion_interruptible() in its .read, but stream_open.cocci
currently detects only "wait_event*" as blocking.

The debug feature entries have been used with up to 5 arguents
(including the pointer to the format string) but there was only
space reserved for 4 arguemnts. So now the registration does
reserve space for 5 times a long value.
This fixes a sometime appearing weired value as the last
value of an debug feature entry like this:

With commit 01396a374c ("s390/zcrypt: revisit ap device remove
procedure") the ap queue remove is now a two stage process. However,
a del_timer_sync() call may trigger the timer function which may
try to lock the very same spinlock as is held by the function
just initiating the del_timer_sync() call. This could end up in
a deadlock situation. Very unlikely but possible as you need to
remove an ap queue at the exact sime time when a timeout of a
request occurs.

The current AP bus implementation periodically polls the AP configuration
to detect changes. When the AP configuration is dynamically changed via the
SE or an SCLP instruction, the changes will not be reflected to sysfs until
the next time the AP configuration is polled. The CHSC architecture
provides a Store Event Information (SEI) command to make notification of an
AP configuration change. This patch introduces a handler to process
notification from the CHSC SEI command by immediately kicking off an AP bus
scan-after-event.

Working with the vfio-ap driver let to some revisit of the way
how an ap (queue) device is removed from the driver.
With the current implementation all the cleanup was done before
the driver even got notified about the removal. Now the ap
queue removal is done in 3 steps:
1) A preparation step, all ap messages within the queue
are flushed and so the driver does 'receive' them.
Also a new state AP_STATE_REMOVE assigned to the queue
makes sure there are no new messages queued in.
2) Now the driver's remove function is invoked and the
driver should do the job of cleaning up it's internal
administration lists or whatever. After 2) is done
it is guaranteed, that the driver is not invoked any
more. On the other hand the driver has to make sure
that the APQN is not accessed any more after step 2
is complete.
3) Now the ap bus code does the job of total cleanup of the
APQN. A reset with zero is triggered and the state of
the queue goes to AP_STATE_UNBOUND.
After step 3) is complete, the ap queue has no pending
messages and the APQN is cleared and so there are no
requests and replies lingering around in the firmware
queue for this APQN. Also the interrupts are disabled.
After these remove steps the ap queue device may be assigned
to another driver.
Stress testing this remove/probe procedure showed a problem with the
correct module reference counting. The actual receive of an reply in
the driver is done asynchronous with completions. So with a driver
change on an ap queue the message flush triggers completions but the
threads waiting for the completions may run at a time where the queue
already has the new driver assigned. So the module_put() at receive
time needs to be done on the driver module which queued the ap
message. This change is also part of this patch.

Libudev relies on having a subsystem link for non-root devices. To
avoid libudev (and potentially other userspace tools) choking on the
matrix device let us introduce a matrix bus and with it the matrix
bus subsytem. Also make the matrix device reside within the matrix
bus.
Doing this we remove the forced link from the matrix device to the
vfio_ap driver and the device_type we do not need anymore.
Since the associated matrix driver is not the vfio_ap driver any more,
we have to change the search for the devices on the vfio_ap driver in
the function vfio_ap_verify_queue_reserved.

When an alternate driver (vfio-ap) has bound an ap queue and this
binding is revised the ap queue device is in an intermittent
state not bound to any driver. The internal state variable
covered this with the state AP_STATE_BORKED which is also used to
reflect broken devices. When now an ap bus scan runs such a
device is destroyed and on the next scan reconstructed.
So a stress test with high frequency switching the queue driver
between the default and the vfio-ap driver hit this gap and the
queue was removed until the next ap bus scan. This fix now
introduces another state for the in-between condition for a queue
momentary not bound to a driver and so the ap bus scan function
skips this device instead of removing it.
Also some very slight but maybe helpful debug feature messages
come with this patch - in particular a message showing that a
broken card/queue device will get removed.

The older machines don't have the QCI instruction available.
With support for up to 256 crypto cards the probing of each
card has been extended to check card ids from 0 up to 255.
For machines with QCI support there is a filter limiting the
range of probed cards. The older machines (z196 and older)
don't have this filter and so since support for 256 cards is
in the driver all cards are probed. However, these machines
also require to have the card id fit into 6 bits. Exceeding
this limit results in a specification exception which happens
on every kernel startup even when there is no crypto configured
and used at all.
This fix limits the range of probed crypto cards to 64 if
there is no QCI instruction available to obey to the older
ap architecture and so fixes the specification exceptions
on z196 machines.

Rework of the AP bus scan code. The ap_scan_bus() function
is large, so this patch splits the code by introducing a new
new function _ap_scan_bus_adapter() which deals with just
one adapter and thus reduces the scan function code complexity.
Now the AP bus scan can handle a type change of an crypto
adapter on the fly (e.g. from CEX5 to CEX6). This may be
the case with newer versions of zVM where the card may
be pure virtual and a type change is just one click.
However a type or function change requires to unregister
all queue devices and the card device and re-register them.
Comments around the AP bus scan code have been added and/or
improved to provide some hopefully useful hints about what
the code is actually doing.

Until now there is no way to reset a AP queue or card. Driving a card
or queue offline and online again does only toggle the 'software'
online state. The only way to trigger a (hardware) reset is by running
hot-unplug/hot-plug for example on the HMC.
This patch makes the queue reset attribute in sysfs writable.
Writing into this attribute triggers a reset on the AP queue's state
machine. So the AP queue is flushed and state machine runs through the
initial states which cause a reset (PQAP(RAPQ)) and a re-registration
to interrupts (PQAP(AQIC)) if available.
The reset sysfs attribute is writable by root only. So only an
administrator is allowed to initiate a reset of AP queues. Please note
that the queue's counter values are left untouched by the reset.

There exist very few ap messages which need to have the 'special' flag
enabled. This flag tells the firmware layer to do some pre- and maybe
postprocessing. However, it may happen that this special flag is
enabled but the firmware is unable to deal with this kind of message
and thus returns with reply code 0x41. For example older firmware may
not know the newest messages triggered by the zcrypt device driver and
thus react with reject and the named reply code. Unfortunately this
reply code is not known to the zcrypt error routines and thus default
behavior is to switch the ap queue offline.
This patch now makes the ap error routine aware of the reply code and
so userspace is informed about the bad processing result but the queue
is not switched to offline state any more.

Until the vfio-ap driver came into live there was a well known
agreement about the way how ap devices are initialized and their
states when the driver's probe function is called.
However, the vfio device driver when receiving an ap queue device does
additional resets thereby removing the registration for interrupts for
the ap device done by the ap bus core code. So when later the vfio
driver releases the device and one of the default zcrypt drivers takes
care of the device the interrupt registration needs to get
renewed. The current code does no renew and result is that requests
send into such a queue will never see a reply processed - the
application hangs.
This patch adds a function which resets the aq queue state machine for
the ap queue device and triggers the walk through the initial states
(which are reset and registration for interrupts). This function is
now called before the driver's probe function is invoked.
When the association between driver and device is released, the
driver's remove function is called. The current implementation calls a
ap queue function ap_queue_remove(). This invokation has been moved to
the ap bus function to make the probe / remove pair for ap bus and
drivers more symmetric.

The init of the pkey module currently fails if the pckmo instruction
or the subfunctions are not available. However, customers may
restrict their LPAR to switch off exactly these functions and work
with secure key only. So it is a valid case to have the pkey module
active and use it for secure key to protected key transfer only.
This patch moves the pckmo subfunction check from the pkey module init
function into the internal function where the pckmo instruction is
called. So now only on invocation of the pckmo instruction the check
for the required subfunction is done. If not available EOPNOTSUPP is
returned to the caller.
The check for having the pckmo instruction available is still done
during module init. This instruction came in with MSA 3 together with

This patch is an extension to the zcrypt device driver to provide,

zcrypt device nodes can be restricted in terms of crypto cards,
domains and available ioctls. Such a device node can be used as a
base for container solutions like docker to control and restrict
the access to crypto resources.
The handling is done with a new sysfs subdir /sys/class/zcrypt.
Echoing a name (or an empty sting) into the attribute "create" creates
a new zcrypt device node. In /sys/class/zcrypt a new link will appear
which points to the sysfs device tree of this new device. The
attribute files "ioctlmask", "apmask" and "aqmask" in this directory
are used to customize this new zcrypt device node instance. Finally
the zcrypt device node can be destroyed by echoing the name into
/sys/class/zcrypt/destroy. The internal structs holding the device
info are reference counted - so a destroy will not hard remove a
device but only marks it as removable when the reference counter drops
to zero.
The mask values are bitmaps in big endian order starting with bit 0.
So adapter number 0 is the leftmost bit, mask is 0x8000... The sysfs
attributes accept 2 different formats:
* Absolute hex string starting with 0x like "0x12345678" does set
the mask starting from left to right. If the given string is shorter
than the mask it is padded with 0s on the right. If the string is
longer than the mask an error comes back (EINVAL).
* Relative format - a concatenation (done with ',') of the
terms +<bitnr>[-<bitnr>] or -<bitnr>[-<bitnr>]. <bitnr> may be any
valid number (hex, decimal or octal) in the range 0...255. Here are
some examples:
"+0-15,+32,-128,-0xFF"
"-0-255,+1-16,+0x128"
"+1,+2,+3,+4,-5,-7-10"
A simple usage examples:
# create new zcrypt device 'my_zcrypt':
echo "my_zcrypt" >/sys/class/zcrypt/create
# go into the device dir of this new device
echo "my_zcrypt" >create
cd my_zcrypt/
ls -l
total 0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 apmask
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 aqmask
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 dev
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Jul 20 15:23 ioctlmask
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 20 15:23 subsystem -> ../../../../class/zcrypt
...
# customize this zcrypt node clone
# enable only adapter 0 and 2
echo "0xa0" >apmask
# enable only domain 6
echo "+6" >aqmask
# enable all 256 ioctls
echo "+0-255" >ioctls
# now the /dev/my_zcrypt may be used
# finally destroy it
echo "my_zcrypt" >/sys/class/zcrypt/destroy
Please note that a very similar 'filtering behavior' also applies to
the parent z90crypt device. The two mask attributes apmask and aqmask
in /sys/bus/ap act the very same for the z90crypt device node. However
the implementation here is totally different as the ap bus acts on
bind/unbind of queue devices and associated drivers but the effect is
still the same. So there are two filters active for each additional
zcrypt device node: The adapter/domain needs to be enabled on the ap
bus level and it needs to be active on the zcrypt device node level.

Provides the sysfs interfaces for:
1. Assigning AP control domains to the mediated matrix device
2. Unassigning AP control domains from a mediated matrix device
3. Displaying the control domains assigned to a mediated matrix
device
The IDs of the AP control domains assigned to the mediated matrix
device are stored in an AP domain mask (ADM). The bits in the ADM,
from most significant to least significant bit, correspond to
AP domain numbers 0 to 255. On some systems, the maximum allowable
domain number may be less than 255 - depending upon the host's
AP configuration - and assignment may be rejected if the input
domain ID exceeds the limit.
When a control domain is assigned, the bit corresponding its domain
ID will be set in the ADM. Likewise, when a domain is unassigned,
the bit corresponding to its domain ID will be cleared in the ADM.
The relevant sysfs structures are:
/sys/devices/vfio_ap/matrix/

.................. assign_control_domain

To assign a control domain to the $uuid mediated matrix device's
ADM, write its domain number to the assign_control_domain file.
To unassign a domain, write its domain number to the
unassign_control_domain file. The domain number is specified
using conventional semantics: If it begins with 0x the number
will be parsed as a hexadecimal (case insensitive) number;
if it begins with 0, it is parsed as an octal number;
otherwise, it will be parsed as a decimal number.
For example, to assign control domain 173 (0xad) to the mediated
matrix device $uuid:
echo 173 > assign_control_domain
or
echo 0255 > assign_control_domain
or
echo 0xad > assign_control_domain
To unassign control domain 173 (0xad):
echo 173 > unassign_control_domain
or
echo 0255 > unassign_control_domain
or
echo 0xad > unassign_control_domain
The assignment will be rejected if the APQI exceeds the maximum
value for an AP domain:
* If the AP Extended Addressing (APXA) facility is installed,
the max value is 255
* Else the max value is 15

Introduces a new AP device driver. This device driver
is built on the VFIO mediated device framework. The framework
provides sysfs interfaces that facilitate passthrough
access by guests to devices installed on the linux host.
The VFIO AP device driver will serve two purposes:
1. Provide the interfaces to reserve AP devices for exclusive
use by KVM guests. This is accomplished by unbinding the
devices to be reserved for guest usage from the zcrypt
device driver and binding them to the VFIO AP device driver.
2. Implements the functions, callbacks and sysfs attribute
interfaces required to create one or more VFIO mediated
devices each of which will be used to configure the AP
matrix for a guest and serve as a file descriptor
for facilitating communication between QEMU and the
VFIO AP device driver.
When the VFIO AP device driver is initialized:
* It registers with the AP bus for control of type 10 (CEX4
and newer) AP queue devices. This limitation was imposed
due to:
1. A desire to keep the code as simple as possible;
2. Some older models are no longer supported by the kernel
and others are getting close to end of service.
3. A lack of older systems on which to test older devices.
The probe and remove callbacks will be provided to support
the binding/unbinding of AP queue devices to/from the VFIO
AP device driver.
* Creates a matrix device, /sys/devices/vfio_ap/matrix,
to serve as the parent of the mediated devices created, one
for each guest, and to hold the APQNs of the AP devices bound to
the VFIO AP device driver.

As the result of this the ap bus fails to manage (e.g. create and

The current AP bus, AP devices and AP device drivers implementation
uses a clearly defined mapping for binding AP devices to AP device
drivers. So for example a CEX6C queue will always be bound to the
cex4queue device driver.
The Linux Device Driver model has no sensitivity for more than one
device driver eligible for one device type. If there exist more than
one drivers matching to the device type, simple all drivers are tried
consecutively. There is no way to determine and influence the probing
order of the drivers.
With KVM there is a need to provide additional device drivers matching
to the very same type of AP devices. With a simple implementation the
KVM drivers run in competition to the regular drivers. Whichever
'wins' a device depends on build order and implementation details
within the common Linux Device Driver Model and is not
deterministic. However, a userspace process could figure out which
device should be bound to which driver and sort out the correct
binding by manipulating attributes in the sysfs.
If for security reasons a AP device must not get bound to the 'wrong'
device driver the sorting out has to be done within the Linux kernel
by the AP bus code. This patch modifies the behavior of the AP bus
for probing drivers for devices in a way that two sets of drivers are
usable. Two new bitmasks 'apmask' and 'aqmask' are used to mark a
subset of the APQN range for 'usable by the ap bus and the default
drivers' or 'not usable by the default drivers and thus available for
alternate drivers like vfio-xxx'. So an APQN which is addressed by
this masking only the default drivers will be probed. In contrary an
APQN which is not addressed by the masks will never be probed and
bound to default drivers but onny to alternate drivers.
Eventually the two masks give a way to divide the range of APQNs into
two pools: one pool of APQNs used by the AP bus and the default
drivers and thus via zcrypt drivers available to the userspace of the
system. And another pool where no zcrypt drivers are bound to and
which can be used by alternate drivers (like vfio-xxx) for their
needs. This division is hot-plug save and makes sure a APQN assigned
to an alternate driver is at no time somehow exploitable by the wrong
party.
The two masks are located in sysfs at /sys/bus/ap/apmask and
/sys/bus/ap/aqmask. The mask syntax is exactly the same as the
already existing mask attributes in the /sys/bus/ap directory (for
example ap_usage_domain_mask and ap_control_domain_mask).
By default all APQNs belong to the ap bus and the default drivers:
cat /sys/bus/ap/apmask
0xffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
cat /sys/bus/ap/aqmask
0xffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
The masks can be changed at boot time with the kernel command line
like this:
... ap.apmask=0xffff ap.aqmask=0x40
This would give these two pools:
default drivers pool: adapter 0 - 15, domain 1
alternate drivers pool: adapter 0 - 15, all but domain 1
adapter 16-255, all domains
The sysfs attributes for this two masks are writeable and an
administrator is able to reconfigure the assignements on the fly by
writing new mask values into. With changing the mask(s) a revision of
the existing queue to driver bindings is done. So all APQNs which are
bound to the 'wrong' driver are reprobed via kernel function
device_reprobe() and thus the new correct driver will be assigned with
respect of the changed apmask and aqmask bits.
The mask values are bitmaps in big endian order starting with bit 0.
So adapter number 0 is the leftmost bit, mask is 0x8000... The sysfs
attributes accept 2 different formats:
- Absolute hex string starting with 0x like "0x12345678" does set
the mask starting from left to right. If the given string is shorter
than the mask it is padded with 0s on the right. If the string is
longer than the mask an error comes back (EINVAL).
- '+' or '-' followed by a numerical value. Valid examples are "+1",
"-13", "+0x41", "-0xff" and even "+0" and "-0". Only the addressed
bit in the mask is switched on ('+') or off ('-').
This patch will also be the base for an upcoming extension to the
zcrypt drivers to be able to provide additional zcrypt device nodes
with filtering based on ap and aq masks.

During review of KVM patches it was complained that the
ap_instructions_available() function returns 0 if AP
instructions are available and -ENODEV if not. The function
acts like a boolean function to check for AP instructions
available and thus should return 0 on failure and != 0 on
success. Changed to the suggested behaviour and adapted
the one and only caller of this function which is the ap

Tests showed, that the zcrypt device driver produces memory
leaks when a valid CCA or EP11 CPRB can't get delivered or has
a failure during processing within the zcrypt device driver.
This happens when a invalid domain or adapter number is used
or the lower level software or hardware layers produce any
kind of failure during processing of the request.
Only CPRBs send to CCA or EP11 cards can produce this memory
leak. The accelerator and the CPRBs processed by this type
of crypto card is not affected.
The two fields message and private within the ap_message struct
are allocated with pulling the function code for the CPRB but
only freed when processing of the CPRB succeeds. So for example
an invalid domain or adapter field causes the processing to
fail, leaving these two memory areas allocated forever.

The function to decide if one zcrypt queue is better than
another one compared two pointers instead of comparing the
values where the pointers refer to. So within the same
zcrypt card when load of each queue was equal just one queue
was used. This effect only appears on relatively lite load,
typically with one thread applications.
This patch fixes the wrong comparison and now the counters
show that requests are balanced equally over all available
queues within the cards.
There is no performance improvement coming with this fix.
As long as the queue depth for an APQN queue is not touched,
processing is not faster when requests are spread over
queues within the same card hardware. So this fix only
beautifies the lszcrypt counter printouts.

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 11139
and resulted in the first patch in this series.
If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930
and resulted in the second patch in this series.
- if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1
and that resulted in the third patch in this series.
- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

This patch introduces a new ap_qact() function which
exploits the PQAP(QACT) subfunction. QACT is a new
interface to Query the Ap Compatilibity Type based
on a given AP qid, type, mode and version.
Based on this new function the AP bus scan code is
slightly reworked to use this new interface for
querying the compatible type for each new AP queue
device detected. So new and unknown devices can
get automatically mapped to a compatible type and
handled without the need for toleration patches
for every new hardware.
The currently highest known hardware is CEX6S.

This patch introduces a new ioctl API and in kernel API to
verify the the secure key blob and give back some
information about the key (type, bitsize, old MKVP).
Both APIs are described in detail in the header files
arch/s390/include/asm/pkey.h and arch/s390/include/uapi/asm/pkey.h.

When a secure key with an old Master Key Verification
Pattern was given to the pkey_findcard function, there was
no responsible card found because only the current MKVP of
each card was compared. With this fix also the old MKVP
values are considered and so a matching card able to handle
the key is reported back to the caller.

This patch introcudes a new kernel module pkey which is providing
protected key handling and management functions. The pkey API is
available within the kernel for other s390 specific code to create
and manage protected keys. Additionally the functions are exported
to user space via IOCTL calls. The implementation makes extensive
use of functions provided by the zcrypt device driver. For
generating protected keys from secure keys there is also a CEX
coprocessor card needed.

This patch introduces the possibility to reset the
request_count attribute for cards and queues to zero.
This can be used to set a clear state on the counters before
running an application and try out if and which hardware is
actually used. If the request_count counter of a card is
reset, for all associated queues the request_count is also
zeroed. If just a queue request_count is reset the card
counter is not updated however.

The Makefile in drivers/s390 has:
obj-y += cio/ block/ char/ crypto/ net/ scsi/ virtio/
and the Makefile in crypto/ has:
ap-objs := ap_bus.o ap_card.o ap_queue.o
meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone.
Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that
when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only.
Since module_init translates to device_initcall in the non-modular
case, the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit.
Also note that MODULE_ALIAS is a no-op for non-module builds.
We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information
is already contained at the top of the file in the comments.
We replace module.h with moduleparam.h since the file does declare
some module parameters even though it is not modular itself.

This patch introduces tracepoint definitions and tracepoint
event invocations for the s390 zcrypt device.
Currently there are just two tracepoint events defined.
An s390_zcrypt_req request event occurs as soon as the
request is recognized by the zcrypt ioctl function. This
event may act as some kind of request-processing-starts-now
indication.
As late as possible within the zcrypt ioctl function there
occurs the s390_zcrypt_rep event which may act as the point
in time where the request has been processed by the kernel
and the result is about to be transferred back to userspace.
The glue which binds together request and reply event is the
ptr parameter, which is the local buffer address where the
request from userspace has been stored by the ioctl function.
The main purpose of this zcrypt tracepoint patch is to get
some data for performance measurements together with
information about the kind of request and on which card and
queue the request has been processed. It is not an ffdc
interface as there is already code in the zcrypt device
driver to serve the s390 debug feature interface.

Rework the debug feature calls and initialization. There
are now two debug feature entries used by the zcrypt code.
The first is 'ap' with all the AP bus related stuff and the
second is 'zcrypt' with all the zcrypt and devices and
driver related entries. However, there isn't much traffic on
both debug features. The ap bus code emits only some debug
info and for zcrypt devices on appearance and disappearance
there is an entry written.
The new dbf invocations use the sprintf buffer layout,
whereas the old implementation used the ascii dbf buffer.
There are now 5*8=40 bytes used for each entry, resulting in
5 parameters per call. As the sprintf buffer needs a format
string the first parameter provides this and so up to 4 more
parameters can be used. Alltogehter the new layout should be
much more human readable for customers and test.

According to the system architecture the current implementation
requires the presence of the N bit in GR2 in the TAPQ response
field to validate the max. number of domains (Nd).
Older machine types don't have this N bit, hence the max. domain
field was ignored.
Before the N bit was introduced the maximum number of domain was
a constant value of 15. So set this value in case of N bit absence.

For the older CEX2x and CEX3x cards the function bits returned
by TAPQ do not reflect the functions of the card. Instead the
functionality is implicit by the type of the card. The reworked
zcrypt requires to have the function bits set correct, so this
patch fixes this. The queue selection is not only based on these
function bits but also on function pointers set by the individual
drivers.

Currently the ap infrastructure only supports one domain at a time.
This feature extends the generic cryptographic device driver to
support multiple cryptographic domains simultaneously.
There are now card and queue devices on the AP bus with independent
card and queue drivers. The new /sys layout is as follows:
/sys/bus/ap
devices
<xx>.<yyyy> -> ../../../devices/ap/card<xx>/<xx>.<yyyy>
...
card<xx> -> ../../../devices/ap/card<xx>
...
drivers
<drv>card
card<xx> -> ../../../../devices/ap/card<xx>
<drv>queue
<xx>.<yyyy> -> ../../../../devices/ap/card<xx>/<xx>.<yyyy>
...
/sys/devices/ap
card<xx>
<xx>.<yyyy>
driver -> ../../../../bus/ap/drivers/<zzz>queue
...
driver -> ../../../bus/ap/drivers/<drv>card
...
The two digit <xx> field is the card number, the four digit <yyyy>
field is the queue number and <drv> is the name of the device driver,
e.g. "cex4".
For compatability /sys/bus/ap/card<xx> for the old layout has to exist,
including the attributes that used to reside there.

The device suspend call triggers all ap devices to fetch potentially
available response messages from the queues. Therefore the

from the queues.

ap_bus and zcrypt_api assumed module information to always be present
and initialisation to be done in module loading order (symbol
dependencies). These assumptions don't hold if zcrypt is built-in;
THIS_MODULE will be NULL in this case and init call order is linker
order, i.e. Makefile order.
Fix initialisation order by ordering the object files in the Makefile
according to their dependencies, like the module loader would do.
Fix message type registration by using a dedicated "name" field rather
than piggy-backing on the module ("owner") information. There's no
change to the requirement that module name and msgtype name are
identical. The existing name macros are used.
We don't need any special code for dealing with the drivers being
built-in; the generic module support code already does the right
thing.

When zcrypt is built as a module, the module loader ensures that the
driver modules cannot be loaded if the AP bus module returns an error
during initialisation. But if zcrypt and the driver are built-in, the
driver is getting initialised even if the AP bus initialisation
failed. The driver invokes ap_driver_register() during initialisation,
which then causes operations on uninitialised data structures to be
performed.
Explicitly protect ap_driver_register() by introducing an
"initialised" flag that gets set iff the AP bus initialisation was
successful. When the AP bus initialisation failed,
ap_driver_register() will error out with -ENODEV, causing the driver
initialisation to fail as well.
