Most interrupt flow handlers do not use the irq argument. Those few
which use it can retrieve the irq number from the irq descriptor.

Writes to /sys/.../cpuX/online fail if we determine the platform
doesn't support hotplug for that CPU. Furthermore, if the cpu_die
op isn't specified the system hangs when we try to offline a CPU
and it comes right back online unexpectedly. Let's figure this
stuff out before we make the sysfs nodes so that the online file
doesn't even exist if it isn't (at least sometimes) possible to
hotplug the CPU.
Add a new 'cpu_can_disable' op and repoint all 'cpu_disable'
implementations at it because all implementers use the op to
indicate if a CPU can be hotplugged or not in a static fashion.
With PSCI we may need to add a 'cpu_disable' op so that the
secure OS can be migrated off the CPU we're trying to hotplug.
In this case, the 'cpu_can_disable' op will indicate that all
CPUs are hotpluggable by returning true, but the 'cpu_disable' op
will make a PSCI migration call and occasionally fail, denying
the hotplug of a CPU. This shouldn't be any worse than x86 where
we may indicate that all CPUs are hotpluggable but occasionally
we can't offline a CPU due to check_irq_vectors_for_cpu_disable()
failing to find a CPU to move vectors to.

set_irq_flags is ARM specific with custom flags which have genirq
equivalents. Convert drivers to use the genirq interfaces directly, so we
can kill off set_irq_flags. The translation of flags is as follows:
IRQF_VALID -> !IRQ_NOREQUEST
IRQF_PROBE -> !IRQ_NOPROBE
IRQF_NOAUTOEN -> IRQ_NOAUTOEN
For IRQs managed by an irqdomain, the irqdomain core code handles clearing
and setting IRQ_NOREQUEST already, so there is no need to do this in
.map() functions and we can simply remove the set_irq_flags calls. Some
users also modify IRQ_NOPROBE and this has been maintained although it
is not clear that is really needed. There appears to be a great deal of
blind copy and paste of this code.

BSYM() was invented to allow us to work around a problem with the
assembler, where local symbols resolved by the assembler for the 'adr'
instruction did not take account of their ISA.
Since we don't want BSYM() used elsewhere, replace BSYM() with a new
macro 'badr', which is like the 'adr' pseudo-op, but with the BSYM()
mechanics integrated into it. This ensures that the BSYM()-ification
is only used in conjunction with 'adr'.

When stopping a DMA transfer with interrupts disabled it is possible
that the DMA transfer completes before the events are cleared. In
this case the completion interrupt will be pending, causing a
completion callback after the transfer was stopped.
By clearing the completion interrupt for the stopping channel it is
ensured that no completion event will be generated after the stop.

If a suspend must be limited to CPU level only by preventing the last man

__mcpm_cpu_down()
__mcpm_outbound_enter_critical()
__mcpm_outbound_leave_critical()
__mcpm_cluster_state()
They are and should only be used by the core code now. Therefore their
declarations are removed from mcpm.h and their definitions are made
static, hence the need to move them before their users which accounts
for the bulk of this patch.
This left the mcpm_sync_struct definition at an odd location, therefore
it is moved as well with some comment clarifications.

All backends are reimplementing a variation of the same CPU reference
count handling. They are also responsible for driving the MCPM special
low-level locking. This is needless duplication, involving algorithmic
requirements that are not necessarily obvious to the uninitiated.
And from past code review experience, those were all initially
implemented badly.
After 3 years, it is time to refactor as much common code to the core
MCPM facility to make the backends as simple as possible. To avoid a
flag day, the new scheme is introduced in parallel to the existing
backend interface. When all backends are converted over, the
compatibility interface could be removed.
The new MCPM backend interface implements simpler methods addressing
very platform specific tasks performed under lock protection while
keeping the algorithmic complexity and race avoidance local to the
core code.

Use the new tick_suspend/resume_local() and get rid of the
homebrewn implementation of these in the ARM bL switcher. The
check for the cpumask is completely pointless. There is no harm
to suspend a per cpu tick device unconditionally. If that's a
real issue then we fix it proper at the core level and not with
some completely undocumented hacks in some random core code.
Move the tick internals to the core code, now that this nuisance

'enum clock_event_mode' is used for two purposes today:
- to pass mode to the driver of clockevent device::set_mode().
- for managing state of the device for clockevents core.
For supporting new modes/states we have moved away from the
legacy set_mode() callback to new per-mode/state callbacks. New
modes/states shouldn't be exposed to the legacy (now OBSOLOTE)
callbacks and so we shouldn't add new states to 'enum
clock_event_mode'.
Lets have separate enums for the two use cases mentioned above.
Keep using the earlier enum for legacy set_mode() callback and
mark it OBSOLETE. And add another enum to clearly specify the
possible states of a clockevent device.
This also renames the newly added per-mode callbacks to reflect
state changes.
We haven't got rid of 'mode' member of 'struct
clock_event_device' as it is used by some of the clockevent
drivers and it would automatically die down once we migrate
those drivers to the new interface. It ('mode') is only updated
now for the drivers using the legacy interface.

Here's the set of driver core patches for 3.19-rc1.
They are dominated by the removal of the .owner field in platform
drivers. They touch a lot of files, but they are "simple" changes, just
removing a line in a structure.
Other than that, a few minor driver core and debugfs changes. There are

just removing a line in a structure.
Other than that, a few minor driver core and debugfs changes. There

This patch makes the edma driver resume correctly after suspend. Tested
on an AM33xx platform with cyclic audio streams and omap_hsmmc.
All information can be reconstructed by already known runtime
information.
As we now use some functions that were previously only used from __init
context, annotations had to be dropped.

- Increase the default ARCH_NR_GPIO from 256 to 512. This
was done to avoid having a custom <asm/gpio.h> header for
the x86 architecture - GPIO is custom and complicated
enough as it is already! We want to move to a radix to
store the descriptors going forward, and finally get rid
of this fixed array size altogether.
- Endgame patching of the gpio_remove() semantics initiated
by Abdoulaye Berthe. It is not accepted by the system that
the removal of a GPIO chip fails during e.g. reboot or
shutdown, and therefore the return value has now painfully
been refactored away. For special cases like GPIO expanders
on a hot-pluggable bus like USB, we may later add some
gpiochip_try_remove() call, but for the cases we have now,
return values are moot.
- Some incremental refactoring of the gpiolib core and ACPI
GPIO library for more descriptor usage.
- Refactor the chained IRQ handler set-up method to handle
also threaded, nested interrupts and set up the parent IRQ
correctly. Switch STMPE and TC3589x drivers to use this
registration method.
- Add a .irq_not_threaded flag to the struct gpio_chip, so
that also GPIO expanders that block but are still not
using threaded IRQ handlers.
- New drivers for the ARM64 X-Gene SoC GPIO controller.
- The syscon GPIO driver has been improved to handle the
"DSP GPIO" found on the TI Keystone 2 SoC:s.
- ADNP driver switched to use gpiolib irqchip helpers.
- Refactor the DWAPB driver to support being instantiated
from and MFD cell (platform device).
- Incremental feature improvement in the Zynq, MCP23S08,
DWAPB, OMAP, Xilinx and Crystalcove drivers.
- Various minor fixes.

- Core timekeeping code is year-2038 safe now for 32bit machines.
Now we just need to fix all in kernel users and the gazillion of
user space interfaces which rely on timespec/timeval :)
- Better cache layout for the timekeeping internal data structures.
- Proper nanosecond based interfaces for in kernel users.
- Tree wide cleanup of code which wants nanoseconds but does hoops
and loops to convert back and forth from timespecs. Some of it
definitely belongs into the ugly code museum.
- Consolidation of the timekeeping interface zoo.
- A fast NMI safe accessor to clock monotonic for tracing. This is a
long standing request to support correlated user/kernel space
traces. With proper NTP frequency correction it's also suitable
for correlation of traces accross separate machines.
- Checkpoint/restart support for timerfd.
- A few NOHZ[_FULL] improvements in the [hr]timer code.
- Code move from kernel to kernel/time of all time* related code.
- New clocksource/event drivers from the ARM universe. I'm really
impressed that despite an architected timer in the newer chips SoC
manufacturers insist on inventing new and differently broken SoC
specific timers.
[ Ed. "Impressed"? I don't think that word means what you think it means ]

In some cases it is desired to move a channel to a specific event queue.
Such a use case is audio, where it is preferred that it is served with
highest priority compared to other DMA clients.

The kernel already has the responsibility to handle resources such as the
CCI when hotplugging CPUs, during the booting of secondary CPUs, and when
resuming from suspend/idle. It would be more coherent and less confusing
if the CCI for the boot CPU (or cluster) was also initialized by the
kernel rather than expecting the firmware/bootloader to do it and only in
that case. After all, the kernel has all the necessary code already and
the bootloader shouldn't have to care at all.
The CCI may be turned on only when the cache is off. Leveraging the CPU
suspend code to loop back through the low-level MCPM entry point is all
that is needed to properly turn on the CCI from the kernel by using the
same code as during secondary boot.
Let's provide a generic MCPM loopback function that can be invoked by
backend initialization code to set things (CCI or similar) on the boot
CPU just as it is done for the other CPUs.

The sp804 clocks may be specified in DT, but the kernel may still be using
legacy clocks. This is handled if a single clock for sp804 is present,
but not when 3 clocks are present.
This prevents Versatile platforms from breaking when the DT has clocks
added.

Pull ARM updates from Russell King:
- Major clean-up of the L2 cache support code. The existing mess was
becoming rather unmaintainable through all the additions that others
have done over time. This turns it into a much nicer structure, and
implements a few performance improvements as well.
- Clean up some of the CP15 control register tweaks for alignment
support, moving some code and data into alignment.c
- DMA properties for ARM, from Santosh and reviewed by DT people. This
adds DT properties to specify bus translations we can't discover
automatically, and to indicate whether devices are coherent.
- Hibernation support for ARM
- Make ftrace work with read-only text in modules
- add suspend support for PJ4B CPUs
- rework interrupt masking for undefined instruction handling, which
allows us to enable interrupts earlier in the handling of these
exceptions.
- support for big endian page tables
- fix stacktrace support to exclude stacktrace functions from the
trace, and add save_stack_trace_regs() implementation so that kprobes
can record stack traces.
- Add support for the Cortex-A17 CPU.
- Remove last vestiges of ARM710 support.
- Removal of ARM "meminfo" structure, finally converting us solely to
memblock to handle the early memory initialisation.

SoC-near driver changes that we're merging through our tree. Mostly
because they depend on other changes we have staged, but in some cases
because the driver maintainers preferred that we did it this way.
This contains a largeish cleanup series of the omap_l3_noc bus driver,
cpuidle rework for Exynos, some reset driver conversions and a long
branch of TI EDMA fixes and cleanups, with more to come next release.
The TI EDMA cleanups is a shared branch with the dmaengine tree, with
a handful of Davinci-specific fixes on top.
After discussion at last year's KS (and some more on the mailing lists),
we are here adding a drivers/soc directory. The purpose of this is
to keep per-vendor shared code that's needed by different drivers but
that doesn't fit into the MFD (nor drivers/platform) model. We expect
to keep merging contents for this hierarchy through arm-soc so we can
keep an eye on what the vendors keep adding here and not making it a
free-for-all to shove in crazy stuff.
