Looking at the recent changes, I found that commit 31455bbda2 ("spi:
pxa2xx_spi: Convert to use GPIO descriptors") replaced the deprecated
SPI chip select platform device code with a gpiod lookup table. However,
this didn't seem to work until I changed the `dev_id` member from the
device name to the bus id. I'm not entirely sure why this is necessary,
but I suspect it is related to the fact that in sysfs SPI devices are
attached under /sys/devices/.../dev_name/spi_master/spiB/spiB.C, rather
than directly to the device."
After reviewing the change I conclude that the same fix is needed
for all affected boards.

The mach/hardware.h is included in lots of places, and it provides
three different things on pxa:
- the cpu_is_pxa* macros
- an indirect inclusion of mach/addr-map.h
- the __REG() and io_pv2() helper macros
Split it up into separate <linux/soc/pxa/cpu.h> and mach/pxa-regs.h
headers, then change all the files that use mach/hardware.h to
include the exact set of those three headers that they actually
need, allowing for further more targeted cleanup.
linux/soc/pxa/cpu.h can remain permanently exported and is now in
a global location along with similar headers. pxa-regs.h and
addr-map.h are only used in a very small number of drivers now
and can be moved to arch/arm/mach-pxa/ directly when those drivers
are to pass the necessary data as resources.

This converts the PXA2xx SPI driver to use GPIO descriptors
exclusively to retrieve GPIO chip select lines.
The device tree and ACPI paths of the driver already use
descriptors, hence ->use_gpio_descriptors is already set and
this codepath is well tested.
Convert all the PXA boards providing chip select GPIOs as
platform data and drop the old GPIO chipselect handling in
favor of the core managing it exclusively.

The PWM backlight still supports passing a enable GPIO line as
platform data using the legacy <linux/gpio.h> API.
It turns out that ever board using this mechanism except one
is pass .enable_gpio = -1. So we drop all these cargo-culted -1's
from all instances of this platform data in the kernel.
The remaning board, Palm TC, is converted to pass a machine
descriptior table with the "enable" GPIO instead, and delete the
platform data entry for enable_gpio and the code handling it
and things should work smoothly with the new API.

This makes it possible to retire platform data completely:

This converts the GPIO regulator driver to use decriptors only.
We have to let go of the array gpio handling: the fetched descriptors
are handled individually anyway, and the array retrieveal function
does not make it possible to retrieve each GPIO descriptor with
unique flags. Instead get them one by one.
We request the "enable" GPIO separately as before, and make sure
that this line is requested as nonexclusive since enable lines can
be shared and the regulator core expects this.
Most users of the GPIO regulator are using device tree.
There are two boards in the kernel using the gpio regulator from a
non-devicetree path: PXA hx4700 and magician. Make sure to switch
these over to use descriptors as well.

As we augmented the regulator core to accept a GPIO descriptor instead
of a GPIO number, we can augment the fixed GPIO regulator to look up
and pass that descriptor directly from device tree or board GPIO
descriptor look up tables.
Some boards just auto-enumerate their fixed regulator platform devices
and I have assumed they get names like "fixed-regulator.0" but it's
pretty hard to guess this. I need some testing from board maintainers to
be sure. Other boards are straight forward, using just plain
"fixed-regulator" (ID -1) or "fixed-regulator.1" hammering down the
device ID.
It seems the da9055 and da9211 has never got around to actually passing
any enable gpio into its platform data (not the in-tree code anyway) so we
can just decide to simply pass a descriptor instead.
The fixed GPIO-controlled regulator in mach-pxa/ezx.c was confusingly named
"*_dummy_supply_device" while it is a very real device backed by a GPIO
line. There is nothing dummy about it at all, so I renamed it with the
infix *_regulator_* as part of this patch set.

The basic functionality was tested, x_plate_ohms and y_plate_ohms were
physically measured. The value pressure_max was empirically set to match
the measured range, which is affected by x_plate_ohms and ADS samples.
The value of keep_vref_on should be set. A tested model (T-Mobile MDA
Compact PM10A) doesn't seem to use Vref pin as the input from an external
source. On this model the unset keep_vref_on cause high jitter of measured
values.
SPI framing pin (gpio_cs) must be used in GPIO mode due to an incompatible

The HTC GPIO driver is a pure GPIO driver and I just can not
see what it is doing inside MFD. Let's just move it to GPIO
and take this opportunity to move the platform data to

The pasic3-leds driver was never in vanilla kernel. Actual configuration
data for a hypothetical driver does not describe hardware completely, so
remove them.
This patch prepare HTC Magician machine code to pasic3-leds driver
addition.

HTC Magician contains a MAX1587A voltage regulator for a Vcore supply.
The Vcore regulation is required for a CPU speed switching. This patch adds
declaration for the max1586 driver.
Notice:
- MAX1587A version does not support the V6 (USIM) output.
- A boost resistor was directly measured for a board_id 0x3a.

outside of the platform specific device declarations. Moving to the end

declaration are not mixed).

Old definition for the physmap-flash driver is incomplete:
- Use of an EGPIO without previous request
- Missing the MTD partitions

so a global GPIO allocation in magician_init() is redundant.

This patch changes fast_mode settings for the normal and power I2C
controller on the HTC Magician machine.
Connected device on the Power I2C:
- MAX1587A: working in the fast mode
Connected devices on the Normal I2C:
- UDA1380: working in the fast mode
- OV9640: bus became stuck in the fast mode
The OV9640 is not using a standard I2C protocol, but an SCCB variant. Maybe
it is not fully compatible in the fast mode. Therefore fast mode for normal
I2C is disabled. If you not using the OV9640 then you can enable the fast
mode for the UDA1380.

This patch renames EGPIOs, which are used for the charging cable presence
and type detection. Old names did not correspond with an observed
functionality (on board_id 0x3a). The behavior is not:
- AC charger
- USB charger
- Cable detection
, but:
- AC/USB type
- Cable detection1
- Cable detection2
This patch fixes a possible typo in the bit offset for the cable detection
EGPIO declaration, too.

Use a PWM lookup table to provide the PWM to the pwm-backlight device.
The driver has a legacy code path that is required only because boards
still use the legacy method of requesting PWMs by global ID. Replacing
these usages allows that legacy fallback to be removed.

The GPIO API defines 0 as being a valid GPIO number, so this field needs
to be initialized explicitly.
A special case is the Palm Tungsten|C board. Since it doesn't use any
quirks that would require the existing .init() or .exit() hooks it can
simply use the new enable_gpio field.

Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct,
and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization
function itself.
This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without
having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into
include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init()
function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning
the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at:
