Dmitry Osipenko f73c730774 iio: gyro: mpu3050: Fix reported temperature value
The raw temperature value is a 16-bit signed integer. The sign casting
is missing in the code, which results in a wrong temperature reported
by userspace tools, fix it.

Alexandru Ardelean 7061803522 iio: hid-sensors: select IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER under HID_SENSOR_IIO_TRIGGER
During commit 067fda1c06 ("iio: hid-sensors: move triggered buffer
setup into hid_sensor_setup_trigger"), the
iio_triggered_buffer_{setup,cleanup}() functions got moved under the
hid-sensor-trigger module.

The above change works fine, if any of the sensors get built. However, when
only the common hid-sensor-trigger module gets built (and none of the
drivers), then the IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER symbol isn't selected/enforced.

Previously, each driver would enforce/select the IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER
symbol. With this change the HID_SENSOR_IIO_TRIGGER (for the
hid-sensor-trigger module) will enforce that IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER gets
selected.

All HID sensor drivers select the HID_SENSOR_IIO_TRIGGER symbol. So, this
change removes the IIO_TRIGGERED_BUFFER enforcement from each driver.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 9c15db92a8 1st set of IIO/counter device support, features and cleanup in the 5.13 cycle
Big set in here from Alexandru Ardelean enabling multiple buffer support.
 This includes providing a new directory per buffer that combines
 what was previously in buffer/ and scan_elements/. Old interfaces still
 in place for compatiblity.

 Note immuatable branch for scmi patches to allow for some significant
 rework going on in that subsystem. Merge required updating to reflect
 some changes in IIO.

 Late rebase to fix some wrong fixes tags due to some earlier rebases
 made necessary by messing up the immutable branch.

 IIO New Device Support

   - Add info to support AD5673R and AD5677R
 * bosch,bmi088
   - New driver supporting this accelerometer + gyroscope
 * cros_ec_mkbp
   - New driver for this proximity sensor that exposes a 'front'
     sensor. Very simple switch like device, but driver allows it
     to share interface with more sophisticated proximity sensors.

What is important, is that the devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup() be called
after the indio_dev->modes is assigned, to make sure that
INDIO_BUFFER_SOFTWARE flag is set and not overridden by the assignment to
indio_dev->modes.

Also, the INDIO_BUFFER_SOFTWARE has been removed from the assignments of
'indio_dev->modes' because it is set by devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup().

Inspired by Andy Shevchenko's proposal to use get_unaligned_leXX().

The whole one time programable memory is treated as a single 64bit
little endian value. Thus we can avoid a lot of messy handling
of fields overlapping byte boundaries by just loading and manipulating
it as an __le64 converted to a u64. That lets us just use FIELD_GET()
and GENMASK() to extract the values desired.

Note only build tested. We need to use GENMASK_ULL and %llX formatters
to account for the larger types used in computing the various fields.

Jonathan Cameron 10ab7cfd55 iio:gyro:itg3200: Fix timestamp alignment and prevent data leak.
One of a class of bugs pointed out by Lars in a recent review.
iio_push_to_buffers_with_timestamp assumes the buffer used is aligned
to the size of the timestamp (8 bytes). This is not guaranteed in
this driver which uses a 16 byte array of smaller elements on the stack.
This is fixed by using an explicit c structure. As there are no
holes in the structure, there is no possiblity of data leakage
in this case.

The explicit alignment of ts is not strictly necessary but potentially
makes the code slightly less fragile. It also removes the possibility
of this being cut and paste into another driver where the alignment
isn't already true.

Lars-Peter Clausen f11d59d87b iio: Move attach/detach of the poll func to the core
All devices using a triggered buffer need to attach and detach the trigger
to the device in order to properly work. Instead of doing this in each and
every driver by hand move this into the core.

At this point in time, all drivers should have been resolved to
attach/detach the poll-function in the same order.

This patch removes all explicit calls of iio_triggered_buffer_postenable()
& iio_triggered_buffer_predisable() in all drivers, since the core handles
now the pollfunc attach/detach.

The more peculiar change is for the 'at91-sama5d2_adc' driver, since it's
not immediately obvious that removing the hooks doesn't break anything.

Alexandru Ardelean d3be83244c iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignment
This patch applies the semantic patch:

@@
   I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP);
   ...
-  I->dev.parent = P;

It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions.
This semantic patch also removes some comments like
'/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */'

But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty.

The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a
different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it
points to the same reference.
In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered
by the semantic patch.

However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the
drivers that should remove the parent assignment.

Alexandru Ardelean 067fda1c06 iio: hid-sensors: move triggered buffer setup into hid_sensor_setup_trigger
The main intent here is to get rid of the iio_buffer_set_attrs() helper, or
at least rework it's usage a bit.
The problem with that helper is that it needs a pointer to the buffer,
which makes supporting multiple buffers per IIO device a bit more
cumbersome.

The hid_sensor_setup_trigger() is pretty much used in the same way:
- iio_triggered_buffer_setup() gets called before
- then hid_sensor_setup_trigger() and hid_sensor_setup_batch_mode() gets
  called which may attach some fifo attributes

This change merges the 2 together under the hid_sensor_setup_trigger()
function. Only the &iio_pollfunc_store_time is passed to all devices, so
it's not even required to pass it explicitly outside of the common
hid_sensor_setup_trigger() function.

Moving the devm_iio_triggered_buffer_setup/cleanup() calls into the common
place code can help the rework of the buffer code, since it is in one
place.

One detail of the change is that there are 2 drivers that use
devm_iio_triggered_buffer_setup(). That function gets implicitly
replaced with iio_triggered_buffer_setup()/cleanup(), but since all drivers
call both hid_sensor_setup_trigger9) & hid_sensor_remove_trigger() trigger,
the iio_triggered_buffer_cleanup() piggy backs on the
hid_sensor_remove_trigger() call, which should cover the cleanup.

The adis library only allows to define a `startup_delay` which for some

Andy Shevchenko f22b1d7588 iio: gyro: st_gyro: Mark gyro_pdata with __maybe_unused
Since we put static variable to a header file it's copied to each module
that includes the header. But not all of them are actually used it.

Mark gyro_pdata with __maybe_unused to calm a compiler down:

In file included from drivers/iio/gyro/st_gyro_i2c.c:18:

Alexandru Ardelean 160b37f49e iio: gyro: adis16260: replace mlock with ADIS lib's state_lock
This change uses the ADIS library's state_lock to protect the state of the
`max_speed_hz` change that is done during the set of the sampling
frequency.

Alexandru Ardelean 0aee99a1ea iio: gyro: adis16136: rework locks using ADIS library's state lock
This replaces indio_dev's mlock with the state lock/mutex from the ADIS
library.

The __adis16136_get_freq() function has been prefixed to mark it as
unlocked. The adis16136_{set,get}_filter() functions now hold the state
lock for all the ops that they do.

Alexandru Ardelean 26ba6db672 iio: gyro: adis16136: check ret val for non-zero vs less-than-zero
The ADIS library functions return zero on success, and negative values for
error. Positive values aren't returned, but we only care about the success
value (which is zero).

This change is mostly needed so that the compiler won't make any inferences
about some about values being potentially un-initialized. This only
triggers after making some functions inline, because the compiler can
better follow return paths.

Alexandru Ardelean 9318a9e547 iio: gyro: adis16080: replace mlock with own lock
The lock is used to protect the buffer during reads. Though the spi
routines have their own locks, it may be the case that the buffer needs to
be protected before it's stored and passed to the IIO read hooks.

indio_dev's mlock was used before.
This change replaces it with the driver's own lock.
