commit 5d249ac37f upstream.
SDHCI_RESET_ALL resets will reset the hardware CQE state, but we aren't
tracking that properly in software. When out of sync, we may trigger
various timeouts.
It's not typical to perform resets while CQE is enabled, but one
particular case I hit commonly enough: mmc_suspend() -> mmc_power_off().
Typically we will eventually deactivate CQE (cqhci_suspend() ->
cqhci_deactivate()), but that's not guaranteed -- in particular, if
we perform a partial (e.g., interrupted) system suspend.
The same bug was already found and fixed for two other drivers, in v5.7
and v5.9:
5cf583f1fb ("mmc: sdhci-msm: Deactivate CQE during SDHC reset")
df57d73276 ("mmc: sdhci-pci: Fix SDHCI_RESET_ALL for CQHCI for Intel
GLK-based controllers")
The latter is especially prescient, saying "other drivers using CQHCI
might benefit from a similar change, if they also have CQHCI reset by
SDHCI_RESET_ALL."
So like these other patches, deactivate CQHCI when resetting the
controller. Do this via the new sdhci_and_cqhci_reset() helper.
This patch depends on (and should not compile without) the patch
entitled "mmc: cqhci: Provide helper for resetting both SDHCI and
CQHCI".

commit ebb5fd38f4 upstream.
Several SDHCI drivers need to deactivate command queueing in their reset
hook (see sdhci_cqhci_reset() / sdhci-pci-core.c, for example), and
several more are coming.
Those reset implementations have some small subtleties (e.g., ordering
of initialization of SDHCI vs. CQHCI might leave us resetting with a
NULL ->cqe_private), and are often identical across different host
drivers.
We also don't want to force a dependency between SDHCI and CQHCI, or
vice versa; non-SDHCI drivers use CQHCI, and SDHCI drivers might support
command queueing through some other means.
So, implement a small helper, to avoid repeating the same mistakes in
different drivers. Simply stick it in a header, because it's so small it
doesn't deserve its own module right now, and inlining to each driver is
pretty reasonable.
This is marked for -stable, as it is an important prerequisite patch for
several SDHCI controller bugfixes that follow.

This loop intends to retry a max of 10 times, with some implicit
termination based on the SD_{R,}OCR_S18A bit. Unfortunately, the
termination condition depends on the value reported by the SD card
(*rocr), which may or may not correctly reflect what we asked it to do.
Needless to say, it's not wise to rely on the card doing what we expect;
we should at least terminate the loop regardless. So, check both the
input and output values, so we ensure we will terminate regardless of
the SD card behavior.
Note that SDIO learned a similar retry loop in commit 0797e5f145
("mmc: core: Fixup signal voltage switch"), but that used the 'ocr'
result, and so the current pre-terminating condition looks like:
rocr & ocr & R4_18V_PRESENT

Note, brief testing showed SD_SWITCH took about 1.8ms to 2ms which added
about 1% to 1.5% to the re-initialization time, so it's not particularly

Currently we don't clear MSDC interrupts when cqe off/disable, which led
to the data complete interrupt will be reserved for the next command.
If the next command with data transfer after cqe off/disable, we process
the CMD ready interrupt and trigger DMA start for data, but the data
complete interrupt is already exists, then SW assume that the data transfer
is complete, SW will trigger DMA stop, but the data may not be transmitted

The intention of the use of mmc_blk_reset_success() in
mmc_blk_cqe_recovery() was to prevent repeated resets when retrying and
getting the same error. However, that may not be the case - any amount
of time and I/O may pass before another recovery is needed, in which
case there would be no reason to deny it the opportunity to recover via
a reset if necessary. CQE recovery is expected seldom and failure to
recover (if the clear tasks command fails), even more seldom, so it is
better to allow the reset always, which can be done by calling
mmc_blk_reset_success() always.

commit 4bc31edebd upstream.
Way back in commit 4f25580fb8 ("mmc: core: changes frequency to
hs_max_dtr when selecting hs400es"), Rockchip engineers noticed that
some eMMC don't respond to SEND_STATUS commands very reliably if they're
still running at a low initial frequency. As mentioned in that commit,
JESD84-B51 P49 suggests a sequence in which the host:
1. sets HS_TIMING
2. bumps the clock ("<= 52 MHz")
3. sends further commands
It doesn't exactly require that we don't use a lower-than-52MHz
frequency, but in practice, these eMMC don't like it.
The aforementioned commit tried to get that right for HS400ES, although
it's unclear whether this ever truly worked as committed into mainline,
as other changes/refactoring adjusted the sequence in conflicting ways:
08573eaf1a ("mmc: mmc: do not use CMD13 to get status after speed mode
switch")
53e60650f7 ("mmc: core: Allow CMD13 polling when switching to HS mode
for mmc")
In any case, today we do step 3 before step 2. Let's fix that, and also
apply the same logic to HS200/400, where this eMMC has problems too.
Resolves errors like this seen when booting some RK3399 Gru/Scarlet
systems:

Ealier versions of this patch bumped to 200MHz/HS200 speeds too early,
which caused issues on, e.g., qcom-msm8974-fairphone-fp2. (Thanks for
the report Luca!) After a second look, it appears that aligns with
JESD84 / page 45 / table 28, so we need to keep to lower (HS / 52 MHz)
rates first.

commit 08ebf903af upstream.
During the card initialization process, the mmc core checks whether the
eMMC/SD card supports an internal writeback-cache and then enables it
inside the card.
Unfortunately, this isn't according to what the mmc core reports to the
upper block layer. Instead, the writeback-cache support with REQ_FLUSH and
REQ_FUA, are being enabled depending on whether the host supports the CMD23
(MMC_CAP_CMD23) and whether an eMMC supports the reliable-write command.
This is wrong and it may also sound awkward. In fact, it's a remnant
from when both eMMC/SD cards didn't have dedicated commands/support to
control the internal writeback-cache. In other words, it was the best we
could do at that point in time.
To fix the problem, but also without breaking backwards compatibility,
let's align the REQ_FLUSH support with whether the writeback-cache became
successfully enabled - for both eMMC and SD cards.
