Document the watchdog timeout mode property. If this property is used
the user can select what happens on watchdog timeout. Set this property
to 1 to enable SHUTDOWN (the device resets), set it to 0 and the device
will go to POWERDOWN on watchdog timeout.
If this property is not set, don't touch the WATCHDOG_SD bit and leave
the configuration to OTP. This way backward compatibility is not broken.

Most Allwinner SoCs have just one input clock to drive the watchdog
peripheral. So far this is the 24 MHz "HOSC" oscillator, divided down
internally to 32 KHz.
The F1C100 series watchdog however uses the unchanged 32 KHz "LOSC" as
its only clock input, which has the same effect, but let's the binding
description mismatch.
Change the binding description to name the clocks more loosely, so both
the LOSC and divided HOSC match the description. As the fixed clock names
now make less sense, drop them from SoCs supporting just one clock
input, they were not used by any DT anyway.
For the newer SoCs, supporting a choice of two input clocks, we keep
both the description and clock-names requirement.

The BCM7038 watchdog binding is updated to include a "brcm,bcm6345-wdt"

Exynos850 SoC has two CPU clusters:
- cluster 0: contains CPUs #0, #1, #2, #3
- cluster 1: contains CPUs #4, #5, #6, #7
Each cluster has its own dedicated watchdog timer. Those WDT instances
are controlled using different bits in PMU registers, new
"samsung,index" property is added to tell the driver which bits to use
for defined watchdog node.
Also on Exynos850 the peripheral clock and the source clock are two
different clocks. Provide a way to specify two clocks in watchdog device
tree node.

has the following warning:

The problem is the schema has a typo in 'assigned-clocks-parents'. As
it is not required to list assigned clocks in bindings, just drop the

D1 keeps the same register layout and clock sources as the R329, but it
adds a key field which must be set to update the watchdog's "CFG" and
"MODE" registers. Therefore it is not backward-compatible.
Similarly to the R329, the D1 has three watchdog instances, and only one
of them has the "soft reset" registers. So that instance needs an extra
compatible string.

On existing SoCs, the watchdog has a single clock input: HOSC (OSC24M)
divided by 750. However, starting with R329, LOSC (OSC32k) is added as
an alternative clock source, with a bit to switch between them.
Since 24 MHz / 750 == 32 kHz, not 32.768 kHz, the hardware adjusts the
cycle counts to keep the timeouts independent of the clock source. This
keeps the programming interface backward-compatible.
Furthermore, the R329 has two watchdogs: one for use by the ARM CPUs
at 0x20000a0, and a second one for use by the DSPs at 0x7020400. The
first of these adds two more new registers, to allow software to
immediately assert the SoC reset signal. Add an additional "-reset"
suffix to signify the presence of this feature.

is more concise and yields better error messages.

If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the
same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT
schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling
will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems.
This condition is partially checked with the meta-schema already, but
only if both 'minItems' and 'maxItems' are equal to the 'items' length.
An improved meta-schema is pending.
