David Howells dc97391e66 sock: Remove ->sendpage*() in favour of sendmsg(MSG_SPLICE_PAGES)
Remove ->sendpage() and ->sendpage_locked().  sendmsg() with
MSG_SPLICE_PAGES should be used instead.  This allows multiple pages and
multipage folios to be passed through.

Azeem Shaikh cd91250306 ieee802154: Replace strlcpy with strscpy
strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first.
This read may exceed the destination size limit.
This is both inefficient and can lead to linear read
overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated [1].
In an effort to remove strlcpy() completely [2], replace
strlcpy() here with strscpy().

Direct replacement is safe here since the return values
from the helper macros are ignored by the callers.

Breno Leitao e1d001fa5b net: ioctl: Use kernel memory on protocol ioctl callbacks
Most of the ioctls to net protocols operates directly on userspace
argument (arg). Usually doing get_user()/put_user() directly in the
ioctl callback.  This is not flexible, because it is hard to reuse these
functions without passing userspace buffers.

Change the "struct proto" ioctls to avoid touching userspace memory and
operate on kernel buffers, i.e., all protocol's ioctl callbacks is
adapted to operate on a kernel memory other than on userspace (so, no
more {put,get}_user() and friends being called in the ioctl callback).

This changes the "struct proto" ioctl format in the following way:

(Important to say that this patch does not touch the "struct proto_ops"
protocols)

So, the "karg" argument, which is passed to the ioctl callback, is a
pointer allocated to kernel space memory (inside a function wrapper).
This buffer (karg) may contain input argument (copied from userspace in
a prep function) and it might return a value/buffer, which is copied
back to userspace if necessary. There is not one-size-fits-all format
(that is I am using 'may' above), but basically, there are three type of
ioctls:

1) Do not read from userspace, returns a result to userspace
2) Read an input parameter from userspace, and does not return anything
  to userspace
3) Read an input from userspace, and return a buffer to userspace.

The default case (1) (where no input parameter is given, and an "int" is
returned to userspace) encompasses more than 90% of the cases, but there
are two other exceptions. Here is a list of exceptions:

* Protocol RAW:
   * cmd = SIOCGETVIFCNT:
     * input and output = struct sioc_vif_req
   * cmd = SIOCGETSGCNT
     * input and output = struct sioc_sg_req
   * Explanation: for the SIOCGETVIFCNT case, userspace passes the input
     argument, which is struct sioc_vif_req. Then the callback populates
     the struct, which is copied back to userspace.

* Protocol RAW6:
   * cmd = SIOCGETMIFCNT_IN6
     * input and output = struct sioc_mif_req6
   * cmd = SIOCGETSGCNT_IN6
     * input and output = struct sioc_sg_req6

* Protocol PHONET:
  * cmd == SIOCPNADDRESOURCE | SIOCPNDELRESOURCE
     * input int (4 bytes)
  * Nothing is copied back to userspace.

For the exception cases, functions sock_sk_ioctl_inout() will
copy the userspace input, and copy it back to kernel space.

The wrapper that prepare the buffer and put the buffer back to user is
sk_ioctl(), so, instead of calling sk->sk_prot->ioctl(), the callee now
calls sk_ioctl(), which will handle all cases.

Miquel Raynal 822452fb6c net: ieee802154: Handle limited devices with only datagram support
Some devices, like HardMAC ones can be a bit limited in the way they
handle mac commands. In particular, they might just not support it at
all and instead only be able to transmit and receive regular data
packets. In this case, they cannot be used for any of the internal
management commands that we have introduced so far and must be flagged
accordingly.

When performing an active scan, devices emit BEACON_REQ which
must be answered by other PANs receiving the request, unless they are
already passively sending beacons.

Answering a beacon request becomes a duty when the user tells us to send
beacons and the request provides an interval of 15.

llsec_parse_seclevel has the null pointer check at its begining. Compared
with nl802154_add_llsec_seclevel, nl802154_del_llsec_seclevel has a

before llsec_parse_seclevel.

Fix this issue by removing the null pointer check in
nl802154_del_llsec_seclevel.

Miquel Raynal ed9a8ad7d8 ieee802154: Drop device trackers
In order to prevent a device from disappearing when a background job was
started, dev_hold() and dev_put() calls were made. During the
stabilization phase of the scan/beacon features, it was later decided
that removing the device while a background job was ongoing was a valid use
case, and we should instead stop the background job and then remove the
device, rather than prevent the device from being removed. This is what
is currently done, which means manually reference counting the device
during background jobs is no longer needed.

Miquel Raynal 3accf47627 mac802154: Handle basic beaconing
Implement the core hooks in order to provide the softMAC layer support
for sending beacons. Coordinators may be requested to send beacons in a
beacon enabled PAN in order for the other devices around to self
discover the available PANs automatically.

Changing the channels is prohibited while a beacon operation is
ongoing.

The implementation uses a workqueue triggered at a certain interval
depending on the symbol duration for the current channel and the
interval order provided.

Sending beacons in response to a BEACON_REQ frame (ie. answering active
scans) is not yet supported.

This initial patchset has no security support (llsec).

Miquel Raynal 9bc114504b ieee802154: Add support for user beaconing requests
Parse user requests for sending beacons, start sending beacons at a
regular pace. If needed, the pace can be updated with a new request. The
process can also be interrupted at any moment.

The page and channel must be changed beforehands if needed. Interval
orders above 14 are reserved to tell a device it must answer BEACON_REQ
coming from another device as part of an active scan procedure and this
is not yet supported.

A netlink "beacon request" structure is created to list the
requirements.

Mac layers may now implement the ->send_beacons() and
->stop_beacons() hooks.

Miquel Raynal d2aaf2a017 ieee802154: Introduce a helper to validate a channel
This helper for now only checks if the page member and channel member
are valid (in the specification range) and supported (by checking the
device capabilities). Soon two new parameters will be introduced and
having this helper will let us only modify its content rather than
modifying the logic everywhere else in the subsystem.

There is not functional change.

Miquel Raynal ed3557c947 ieee802154: Add support for user scanning requests
The ieee802154 layer should be able to scan a set of channels in order
to look for beacons advertizing PANs. Supporting this involves adding
two user commands: triggering scans and aborting scans. The user should
also be notified when a new beacon is received and also upon scan
termination.

A scan request structure is created to list the requirements and to be
accessed asynchronously when changing channels or receiving beacons.

Mac layers may now implement the ->trigger_scan() and ->abort_scan()
hooks.

complex channels, but are not actually used yet.

Jakub Kicinski 20b0b53aca genetlink: introduce split op representation
We currently have two forms of operations - small ops and "full" ops
(or just ops). The former does not have pointers for some of the less
commonly used features (namely dump start/done and policy).

The "full" ops, however, still don't contain all the necessary
information. In particular the policy is per command ID, while
do and dump often accept different attributes. It's also not
possible to define different pre_doit and post_doit callbacks
for different commands within the family.

At the same time a lot of commands do not support dumping and
therefore all the dump-related information is wasted space.

Create a new command representation which can hold info about
a do implementation or a dump implementation, but not both at
the same time.

Use this new representation on the command execution path
(genl_family_rcv_msg) as we either run a do or a dump and
don't have to create a "full" op there.

Haimin Zhang 94160108a7 net/ieee802154: fix uninit value bug in dgram_sendmsg
There is uninit value bug in dgram_sendmsg function in
net/ieee802154/socket.c when the length of valid data pointed by the
msg->msg_name isn't verified.

We introducing a helper function ieee802154_sockaddr_check_size to
check namelen. First we check there is addr_type in ieee802154_addr_sa.
Then, we check namelen according to addr_type.

Also fixed in raw_bind, dgram_bind, dgram_connect.

Jakub Kicinski 9c5d03d362 genetlink: start to validate reserved header bytes
We had historically not checked that genlmsghdr.reserved
is 0 on input which prevents us from using those precious
bytes in the future.

One use case would be to extend the cmd field, which is
currently just 8 bits wide and 256 is not a lot of commands
for some core families.

To make sure that new families do the right thing by default
put the onus of opting out of validation on existing families.

Miquel Raynal f0feb34904 net: mac802154: Introduce a tx queue flushing mechanism
Right now we are able to stop a queue but we have no indication if a
transmission is ongoing or not.

Thanks to recent additions, we can track the number of ongoing
transmissions so we know if the last transmission is over. Adding on top
of it an internal wait queue also allows to be woken up asynchronously
when this happens. If, beforehands, we marked the queue to be held and
stopped it, we end up flushing and stopping the tx queue.

Thanks to this feature, we will soon be able to introduce a synchronous
transmit API.

Miquel Raynal 20a19d1df3 net: mac802154: Bring the ability to hold the transmit queue
Create a hold_txs atomic variable and increment/decrement it when
relevant, ie. when we want to hold the queue or release it: currently
all the "stopped" situations are suitable, but very soon we will more
extensively use this feature for MLME purposes.

Upon release, the atomic counter is decremented and checked. If it is
back to 0, then the netif queue gets woken up. This makes the whole
process fully transparent, provided that all the users of
ieee802154_wake/stop_queue() now call ieee802154_hold/release_queue()
instead.

In no situation individual drivers should call any of these helpers
manually in order to avoid messing with the counters. There are other
functions more suited for this purpose which have been introduced, such
as the _xmit_complete() and _xmit_error() helpers which will handle all
that for them.

One advantage is that, as no more drivers call the stop/wake helpers
directly, we can safely stop exporting them and only declare the
hold/release ones in a header only accessible to the core.

The internal recvmsg() functions have two parameters 'flags' and 'noblock'
that were merged inside skb_recv_datagram(). As a follow up patch to commit
f4b41f062c ("net: remove noblock parameter from skb_recv_datagram()")
this patch removes the separate 'noblock' parameter for recvmsg().

Analogue to the referenced patch for skb_recv_datagram() the 'flags' and
'noblock' parameters are unnecessarily split up with e.g.

err = sk->sk_prot->recvmsg(sk, msg, size, flags & MSG_DONTWAIT,
                           flags & ~MSG_DONTWAIT, &addr_len);

or in

err = INDIRECT_CALL_2(sk->sk_prot->recvmsg, tcp_recvmsg, udp_recvmsg,

Oliver Hartkopp f4b41f062c net: remove noblock parameter from skb_recv_datagram()
skb_recv_datagram() has two parameters 'flags' and 'noblock' that are

As 'flags' may contain MSG_DONTWAIT as value most callers split the 'flags'
into 'flags' and 'noblock' with finally obsolete bit operations like this:

skb_recv_datagram(sk, flags & ~MSG_DONTWAIT, flags & MSG_DONTWAIT, &rc);

And this is not even done consistently with the 'flags' parameter.

This patch removes the obsolete and costly splitting into two parameters
and only performs bit operations when really needed on the caller side.

One missing conversion thankfully reported by kernel test robot. I missed
to enable kunit tests to build the mctp code.

Martin KaFai Lau 335c8cf3b5 net: ipv6: Handle delivery_time in ipv6 defrag
A latter patch will postpone the delivery_time clearing until the stack
knows the skb is being delivered locally (i.e. calling
skb_clear_delivery_time() at ip_local_deliver_finish() for IPv4
and at ip6_input_finish() for IPv6).  That will allow other kernel
forwarding path (e.g. ip[6]_forward) to keep the delivery_time also.

A very similar IPv6 defrag codes have been duplicated in
multiple places: regular IPv6, nf_conntrack, and 6lowpan.

Unlike the IPv4 defrag which is done before ip_local_deliver_finish(),
the regular IPv6 defrag is done after ip6_input_finish().
Thus, no change should be needed in the regular IPv6 defrag
logic because skb_clear_delivery_time() should have been called.

6lowpan also does not need special handling on delivery_time
because it is a non-inet packet_type.

However, cf_conntrack has a case in NF_INET_PRE_ROUTING that needs
to do the IPv6 defrag earlier.  Thus, it needs to save the
mono_delivery_time bit in the inet_frag_queue which is similar
to how it is handled in the previous patch for the IPv4 defrag.

This patch chooses to do it consistently and stores the mono_delivery_time
in the inet_frag_queue for all cases such that it will be easier
for the future refactoring effort on the IPv6 reasm code.
