Milton Miller 7ce14a315d powerpc/pseries: Remove write only variable in PCI DLPAR
Since we never hotplug add an isa bus, we never need to set primary.
Delete this write-only variable.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt fd6852c8fa powerpc/pci: Fix various pseries PCI hotplug issues
The pseries PCI hotplug code has a number of issues, ranging from
incorrect resource setup to crashes, depending on what is added,
when, whether it contains a bridge, etc etc....

This fixes a whole bunch of these, while actually simplifying the code
a bit, using more generic code in the process and factoring out common
code between adding of a PHB, a slot or a device.

Nathan Fontenot e90a131846 powerpc/pci: Properly allocate bus resources for hotplug PHBs
Resources for PHB's that are dynamically added to a system are not
properly allocated in the resource tree.

Not having these resources allocated causes an oops when removing
the PHB when we try to release them.

The diff appears a bit messy, this is mainly due to moving everything
one tab to the left in the pcibios_allocate_bus_resources routine.
The functionality change in this routine is only that the
list_for_each_entry() loop is pulled out and moved to the necessary
calling routine.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 8a1bc9013a PCI: add is_added flag to struct pci_dev
This lets us check if the device is really added to the driver core or
not, which is what we need when walking some of the bus lists.  The flag
is there in anticipation of getting rid of the other PCI device list,
which is what we used to check in this situation.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt bf5e2ba28f [POWERPC] Merge PCI resource fixups
The PCI code in 32 and 64 bits fixes up resources differently.

32 bits uses a header quirk plus handles bridges in pcibios_fixup_bus()
while 64 bits does things in various places depending on whether you
are using OF probing, using PCI hotplug, etc...

This merges those by basically using the 32 bits approach for both,
with various tweaks to make 64 bits work with the new approach.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 3d5134ee83 [POWERPC] Rewrite IO allocation & mapping on powerpc64
This rewrites pretty much from scratch the handling of MMIO and PIO
space allocations on powerpc64.  The main goals are:

 - Get rid of imalloc and use more common code where possible
 - Simplify the current mess so that PIO space is allocated and
   mapped in a single place for PCI bridges
 - Handle allocation constraints of PIO for all bridges including
   hot plugged ones within the 2GB space reserved for IO ports,
   so that devices on hotplugged busses will now work with drivers
   that assume IO ports fit in an int.
 - Cleanup and separate tracking of the ISA space in the reserved
   low 64K of IO space. No ISA -> Nothing mapped there.

I booted a cell blade with IDE on PIO and MMIO and a dual G5 so
far, that's it :-)

With this patch, all allocations are done using the code in
mm/vmalloc.c, though we use the low level __get_vm_area with
explicit start/stop constraints in order to manage separate
areas for vmalloc/vmap, ioremap, and PCI IOs.

This greatly simplifies a lot of things, as you can see in the
diffstat of that patch :-)

A new pair of functions pcibios_map/unmap_io_space() now replace
all of the previous code that used to manipulate PCI IOs space.
The allocation is done at mapping time, which is now called from
scan_phb's, just before the devices are probed (instead of after,
which is by itself a bug fix). The only other caller is the PCI
hotplug code for hot adding PCI-PCI bridges (slots).

imalloc is gone, as is the "sub-allocation" thing, but I do beleive
that hotplug should still work in the sense that the space allocation
is always done by the PHB, but if you unmap a child bus of this PHB
(which seems to be possible), then the code should properly tear
down all the HPTE mappings for that area of the PHB allocated IO space.

I now always reserve the first 64K of IO space for the bridge with
the ISA bus on it. I have moved the code for tracking ISA in a separate
file which should also make it smarter if we ever are capable of
hot unplugging or re-plugging an ISA bridge.

This should have a side effect on platforms like powermac where VGA IOs
will no longer work. This is done on purpose though as they would have
worked semi-randomly before. The idea at this point is to isolate drivers
that might need to access those and fix them by providing a proper
function to obtain an offset to the legacy IOs of a given bus.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 4c9d2800be [POWERPC] Generic OF platform driver for PCI host bridges.
When enabled in Kconfig, it will pick up any of_platform_device
matching it's match list (currently type "pci", "pcix", "pcie",
or "ht" and setup a PHB for it.

Platform must provide a ppc_md.pci_setup_phb() for it to work
(for doing the necessary initialisations specific to a given PHB
like setting up the config space ops).

It's currently only available on 64 bits as the 32 bits PCI code
can't quite cope with it in it's current form. I will fix that
later.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt 12d04eef92 [POWERPC] Refactor 64 bits DMA operations
This patch completely refactors DMA operations for 64 bits powerpc. 32 bits
is untouched for now.

We use the new dev_archdata structure to add the dma operations pointer
and associated data to struct device. While at it, we also add the OF node
pointer and numa node. In the future, we might want to look into merging
that with pci_dn as well.

The old vio, pci-iommu and pci-direct DMA ops are gone. They are now replaced
by a set of generic iommu and direct DMA ops (non PCI specific) that can be
used by bus types. The toplevel implementation is now inline.

Benjamin Herrenschmidt e8222502ee [PATCH] powerpc: Kill _machine and hard-coded platform numbers
This removes statically assigned platform numbers and reworks the
powerpc platform probe code to use a better mechanism.  With this,
board support files can simply declare a new machine type with a
macro, and implement a probe() function that uses the flattened
device-tree to detect if they apply for a given machine.

We now have a machine_is() macro that replaces the comparisons of
_machine with the various PLATFORM_* constants.  This commit also
changes various drivers to use the new macro instead of looking at
_machine.

adapters under P5IOC controllers.  It fails to properly fixup bus/device
resources, and it fails to properly enable EEH.  Both of these steps

pci_bus_add_devices().

Some hotplug driver functions were migrated to the kernel for use by EEH
in commit 2bf6a8fa21.

Previously, the PCI Hotplug module had been changed to use the new
OFDT-based PCI probe when appropriate:

When rpaphp_pci_config_slot() was moved from the rpaphp driver to the
new kernel function pcibios_add_pci_devices(), the OFDT-based probe
stuff was dropped.  This patch restores it.

Linas Vepstas 2bf6a8fa21 [PATCH] powerpc: migrate common PCI hotplug code
23-rpaphp-migrate.patch (parts)

This patch moves some pci device add & remove code from the PCI
hotplug directory to the arch/powerpc/kernel directory, and cleans
it up a tad. The primary reason for this is that the code performs
some fairly generic operations that are shared with the PCI error
recovery code (living in the arch/powerpc/kernel directory).
