We have CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE=y in the defconfigs, but that depends
on CONFIG_FB so it's not actually getting set. I'm assuming most users
on real systems want a framebuffer console, so this enables CONFIG_FB to
allow that to take effect.

CONFIG_MAXPHYSMEM_* are actually never used, even the nommu defconfigs

In addition, the move of the kernel mapping at the end of the address

at the same address as the kernel mapping.

* A check to ensure drivers are properly using uaccess. This isn't

* Some preliminary support for the FU740, along with the HiFive

* NUMA support for RISC-V, which involves making the arm64 code generic.
* Support for kasan on the vmalloc region.
* A handful of new drivers for the Kendryte K210, along with the DT

* Support for allocating ASIDs.
* Preliminary support for kernels larger than 128MiB.
* Various other improvements to our KASAN support, including the
utilization of huge pages when allocating the KASAN regions.
We may have already found a bug with the KASAN_VMALLOC code, but it's

The nommu_k210_defconfig default configuration allows booting a Canaan
Kendryte K210 SoC based boards using an embedded intramfs cpio file.
Modifying this configuration to enable support for the board SD card is
not trivial for all users. To help beginners getting started with these
boards, add the nommu_k210_sdcard_defconfig default configuration file
to set all configuration options necessary to use the board mmc-spi sd
card for the root file system.
This new configuration adds support for the block layer, the mmc-spi
driver and modifies the boot options to specify the rootfs device as
mmcblk0p1 (first partition of the sd card block device). The ext2 file
system is selected by default to encourage its use as that results in
only about 4KB added to the kernel image size. As ext2 does not have
journaling, the boot options specify a read-only mount of the file
system. Similarly to the smaller nommu_k210_defconfig, this new default
configuration disables virtual terminal support to reduce the kernel
image size.
The default device tree selected is unchanged, specifying the simple
"k210_generic" device tree file. The user must change this setting to
specify the device tree suitable for the board being used
(sipeed_maix_bit, sipeed_maix_dock, sipeed_maix_go, sipeed_maixduino or
canaan_kd233).

* SBI v0.2 support.
* Fixes to support for building with LLVM-based toolchains. The resulting

This builds and boots for me. There is one merge conflict, it's just a Kconfig

eb01d42a77 ("PCI: consolidate PCI config entry in drivers/pci")
reorganized the PCI-related Kconfig entries and resulted in a diff in
our defconfig. This simply removes the diff.

This patch enables RISC-V SBI earlycon support in default defconfig
so that we can use "earlycon=sbi" in kernel parameters for early
debug prints.

The printk timestamps are very useful information to visually see
where kernel is spending time during boot. It also helps us see
the timing of hotplug events at runtime.
This patch enables printk timestamps in RISC-V defconfig so that
we have it enabled by default (similar to other architectures
such as x86_64, arm64, etc).

Add a driver for the SiFive implementation of the RISC-V Platform Level
Interrupt Controller (PLIC). The PLIC connects global interrupt sources
to the local interrupt controller on each hart.
This driver is based on the driver in the RISC-V tree from Palmer Dabbelt,
but has been almost entirely rewritten since, and includes many fixes
from Atish Patra.

This patch provides a basic defconfig for the RISC-V
architecture that enables enough kernel features to run a
basic Linux distribution on qemu's "virt" board for native
software development. Features include:
- serial console
- virtio block and network device support
- VFAT and ext2/3/4 filesystem support
- NFS client and NFS rootfs support
- an assortment of other kernel features required for
running systemd
It also enables a number of drivers for physical hardware
that target the "SiFive U500" SoC and the corresponding
development platform. These include:
- PCIe host controller support for the FPGA-based U500
development platform (PCIE_XILINX)
- USB host controller support (OHCI/EHCI/XHCI)
- USB HID (keyboard/mouse) support
- USB mass storage support (bulk and UAS)
- SATA support (AHCI)
- ethernet drivers (MACB for a SoC-internal MAC block, microsemi
ethernet phy, E1000E and R8169 for PCIe-connected external devices)
- DRM and framebuffer console support for PCIe-connected
Radeon graphics chips

This patch contains all the build infrastructure that actually enables
the RISC-V port. This includes Makefiles, linker scripts, and Kconfig
files. It also contains the only top-level change, which adds RISC-V to
the list of architectures that need a sed run to produce the ARCH
variable when building locally.
