Linus Walleij 5468e82f70 net: phy: fixed-phy: Drop GPIO from fixed_phy_add()
All users of the fixed_phy_add() pass -1 as GPIO number
to the fixed phy driver, and all users of fixed_phy_register()
pass -1 as GPIO number as well, except for the device
tree MDIO bus.

Any new users should create a proper device and pass the
GPIO as a descriptor associated with the device so delete
the GPIO argument from the calls and drop the code looking
requesting a GPIO in fixed_phy_add().

In fixed phy_register(), investigate the "fixed-link"
node and pick the GPIO descriptor from "link-gpios" if
this property exists. Move the corresponding code out
of of_mdio.c as the fixed phy code anyways requires
OF to be in use.

Jason Martinsen 15515aaaa6 lan78xx: Resolve issue with changing MAC address
Current state for the lan78xx driver does not allow for changing the
MAC address of the interface, without either removing the module (if
you compiled it that way) or rebooting the machine. If you attempt to
change the MAC address, ifconfig will show the new address, however,
the system/interface will not respond to any traffic using that
configuration. A few short-term options to work around this are to
unload the module and reload it with the new MAC address, change the
interface to "promisc", or reboot with the correct configuration to
change the MAC.

This patch enables the ability to change the MAC address via fairly normal means...
ifdown <interface>
modify entry in /etc/network/interfaces OR a similar method
ifup <interface>
Then test via any network communication, such as ICMP requests to gateway.

My only test platform for this patch has been a raspberry pi model 3b+.

Commit 92571a1aae ("lan78xx: Connect phy early") moves the PHY
initialisation into lan78xx_probe, but lan78xx_open subsequently calls

this reset frequently prevents the phy interrupt from being generated

The culprit is quite simple: The driver tries to access the phy left and right,
but only actually has a working reference to it when the device is up.

The fix thus is quite simple too: Get a reference to the phy on probe already
and keep it even when the device is going down.

With this patch applied, I can successfully run wicked on my system and bring
the interface up and down as many times as I want, without getting NULL pointer
dereferences in between.

Raghuram Chary J 2d2d99ec13 lan78xx: Crash in lan78xx_writ_reg (Workqueue: events lan78xx_deferred_multicast_write)
Description:
Crash was reported with syzkaller pointing to lan78xx_write_reg routine.

Root-cause:
Proper cleanup of workqueues and init/setup routines was not happening
in failure conditions.

Fix:
Handled the error conditions by cleaning up the queues and init/setup
routines.

Raghuram Chary J e69647a19c lan78xx: Set ASD in MAC_CR when EEE is enabled.
Description:
EEE does not work with lan7800 when AutoSpeed is not set.
(This can happen when EEPROM is not populated or configured incorrectly)

Root-Cause:
When EEE is enabled, the mac config register ASD is not set
i.e. in default state, causing EEE fail.

Fix:
Set the register when eeprom is not present.

Nisar Sayed fb52c3b597 lan78xx: USB fast connect/disconnect crash fix
USB fast connect/disconnect crash fix

When USB plugged/unplugged at fast rate,
lan78xx_mdio_init() in lan78xx_bind() failing case is not handled.
Whenever lan78xx_mdio_init() failed, dev->mdiobus will be freed, however
since lan78xx_bind() not consider as error and try to proceed for
further initialization in lan78xx_probe() which leads system hung/crash.
Also when register_netdev() failed, netdev is freed without calling lan78xx_unbind().
Hence halting the failed cases right manner fixes the system crash/hung issue.
