Axel Lin 29ecd78c0f drivers/rtc/rtc-rv3029c2.c: fix disabling AIE irq
In the disable AIE irq code path, current code passes "1" to enable
parameter of rv3029c2_rtc_i2c_alarm_set_irq(). Thus it does not disable
AIE irq.

Johan Hovold e9f08bbe3f rtc-at91rm9200: add shadow interrupt mask
Add shadow interrupt-mask register which can be used on SoCs where the
actual hardware register is broken.

Note that some care needs to be taken to make sure the shadow mask
corresponds to the actual hardware state. The added overhead is not an
issue for the non-broken SoCs due to the relatively infrequent
interrupt-mask updates. We do, however, only use the shadow mask value
as a fall-back when it actually needed as there is still a theoretical
possibility that the mask is incorrect (see the code for details).

Johan Hovold 558c61e557 rtc-at91rm9200: add match-table compile guard
The members of Atmel's at91sam9x5 family (9x5) have a broken RTC
interrupt mask register (AT91_RTC_IMR). It does not reflect enabled
interrupts but instead always returns zero.

The kernel's rtc-at91rm9200 driver handles the RTC for the 9x5 family.
Currently when the date/time is set, an interrupt is generated and this
driver neglects to handle the interrupt. The kernel complains about the
un-handled interrupt and disables it henceforth. This not only breaks
the RTC function, but since that interrupt is shared (Atmel's SYS
interrupt) then other things break as well (e.g. the debug port no
longer accepts characters).

Tested on the at91sam9g25. Bug confirmed by Atmel.

This patch (of 5):

Add missing match-table compile guard.

Tony Lindgren 24b8256a1f drivers/rtc/rtc-twl.c: fix missing device_init_wakeup() when booted with device tree
When booted in legacy mode device_init_wakeup() gets called by
drivers/mfd/twl-core.c when the children are initialized. However, when
booted using device tree, the children are created with
of_platform_populate() instead add_children().

This means that the RTC driver will not have device_init_wakeup() set,
and we need to call it from the driver probe like RTC drivers typically
do.

Without this we cannot test PM wake-up events on omaps for cases where
there may not be any physical wake-up event.

Derek Basehore ebf8d6c863 drivers/rtc/rtc-cmos.c: fix accidentally enabling rtc channel
During resume, we call hpet_rtc_timer_init after masking an irq bit in
hpet. This will cause the call to hpet_disable_rtc_channel to be undone
if RTC_AIE is the only bit not masked.

Allowing the cmos interrupt handler to run before resuming caused some
issues where the timer for the alarm was not removed. This would cause
other, later timers to not be cleared, so utilities such as hwclock
would time out when waiting for the update interrupt.

Linus Torvalds e51066824a Merge branch 'devm_no_resource_check' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wsa/linux
Pull devm usage cleanup from Wolfram Sang:
"Lately, I have been experimenting how to improve the devm interface to
make writing device drivers easier and less error prone while also
getting rid of its subtle issues. I think it has more potential but
still needs work and definately conistency, especiall in its usage.

The first thing I come up with is a low hanging fruit regarding
devm_ioremap_resouce(). This function already checks if the passed
resource is valid and gives an error message if not. So, we can
remove similar checks from the drivers and get rid of a bit of code
and a number of inconsistent error strings.

This series only removes the unneeded check iff devm_ioremap_resource
follows platform_get_resource directly. The previous version tried to
shuffle code if needed, too, what lead to an embarrasing bug. It
turned out to me that shuffling code for all cases found will make the
automated script too complex, so I am unsure if an automated cleanup
is the proper tool for this case. Removing the easy stuff seems
  worthwhile to me, though.

Despite various architectures and platform dependencies, I managed to
compile test 45 out of 57 modified files locally using heuristics and
  defconfigs."

John Stultz b4f711ee03 time: Revert ALWAYS_USE_PERSISTENT_CLOCK compile time optimizaitons
Kay Sievers noted that the ALWAYS_USE_PERSISTENT_CLOCK config,
which enables some minor compile time optimization to avoid
uncessary code in mostly the suspend/resume path could cause
problems for userland.

In particular, the dependency for RTC_HCTOSYS on
!ALWAYS_USE_PERSISTENT_CLOCK, which avoids setting the time
twice and simplifies suspend/resume, has the side effect
of causing the /sys/class/rtc/rtcN/hctosys flag to always be
zero, and this flag is commonly used by udev to setup the
/dev/rtc symlink to /dev/rtcN, which can cause pain for
older applications.

While the udev rules could use some work to be less fragile,
breaking userland should strongly be avoided. Additionally
the compile time optimizations are fairly minor, and the code
being optimized is likely to be reworked in the future, so
lets revert this change.

rtc8564 appears in i2c_device_id table of both rtc-isl12022.c and
rtc-pcf8563.c. Commit 8ea9212cbd "rtc-pcf8563: add chip id" added the
rtc8564 chip entry to pcf8563. isl12022 driver is modified from pcf8563
driver, so this looks like a copy-paste bug.

Derek Basehore e005715efa drivers/rtc/rtc-cmos.c: don't disable hpet emulation on suspend
There's a bug where rtc alarms are ignored after the rtc cmos suspends
but before the system finishes suspend. Since hpet emulation is
disabled and it still handles the interrupts, a wake event is never
registered which is done from the rtc layer.

This patch reverts commit d1b2efa83f ("rtc: disable hpet emulation on
suspend") which disabled hpet emulation. To fix the problem mentioned
in that commit, hpet_rtc_timer_init() is called directly on resume.

Bertrand Achard bc48b9023b drivers/rtc/rtc-ds1307.c: long block operations bugfix
The rtc-ds1307 driver does not properly handle block operations bigger
than 32 bytes in either of the two modes supported (SMbus native, or
emulated if not supported by the SMbus platform driver).

It also does not properly handle userland-supplied input (block
operation length) through sysfs and may suffer a type of buffer overrun.

The driver has been modified with proper input validation, buffer sizes,
and now splits block transfers bigger than 32 bytes into separate
transfers.

Explanation : Buffer size allocated is I2C_SMBUS_BLOCK_MAX which equals
to 32 as per the SMbus spec. Reads and write may be up to 56 bytes (to
the NVRAM). This patch allocated a 255 byte buffer, the maximum
allowable (address is an u8). It's not only a buffer problem, SMbus
only supports up to 32 bytes transfer at once, so it's needed to split
bigger transfers.

Patch successfully tested on 3.2.27; cleanly applies on 3.7-rc4.

CONFIG_PM doesn't actually enable any of the PM callbacks, it only allows

Arnd Bergmann 56b690481c Merge branch 'samsung/exynos-multiplatform' into next/multiplatform
These patches get us closer to adding multiplatform support on
the Exynos platform, they are part of a longer series of
patches. This would get all the simple stuff out of the
way, and I don't think there is a big risk of introducing
regressions with these.

A lot of the other patches have already been merged into
subsystem trees. After this series in in arm-soc, what is
left comes down to

* The ASoC conversion to dmaengine won't make it unless someone
who knows that code better steps up to do it right away. This
means that we won't have audio in a 3.10 multiplatform kernel
on Exynos, but it will still work for users that don't enable
  multiplatform.

* The irqchip (combiner), clk and clksource patches are all based
on top of other changesets we pulled in from your trees, so I
would not make them part of the next/multiplatform branch. We can
apply them on top of the next/drivers branch once they are
  tested successfully.

* A trivial patch is needed in the end to actually make
  CONFIG_ARCH_EXYNOS visible in multiplatform configurations.
We will do that as a separate patch once everything else is
  there.

which allows us to build the file as platform-independent
code.

Johan Hovold e24b0bfa2f Revert "drivers/rtc/rtc-at91rm9200.c: use a variable for storing IMR"
This reverts commit 0ef1594c01.

This patch introduced a few races which cannot be easily fixed with a
small follow-up patch. Furthermore, the SoC with the broken hardware
register, which this patch intended to add support for, can only be used
with device trees, which this driver currently does not support.

[ Here is the discussion that led to this "revert" patch:

Nicolas Ferre 0ef1594c01 drivers/rtc/rtc-at91rm9200.c: use a variable for storing IMR
On some revisions of AT91 SoCs, the RTC IMR register is not working.
Instead of elaborating a workaround for that specific SoC or IP version,
we simply use a software variable to store the Interrupt Mask Register
and modify it for each enabling/disabling of an interrupt. The overhead
of this is negligible anyway.

The interrupt mask register (IMR) for the RTC is broken on the AT91SAM9x5
sub-family of SoCs (good overview of the members here:
http://www.eewiki.net/display/linuxonarm/AT91SAM9x5 ). The "user visible
effect" is the RTC doesn't work.

That sub-family is less than two years old and only has devicetree (DT)
support and came online circa lk 3.7 . The dust is yet to settle on the
DT stuff at least for AT91 SoCs (translation: lots of stuff is still
broken, so much that it is hard to know where to start).

The fix in the patch is pretty simple: just shadow the silicon IMR
register with a variable in the driver. Some older SoCs (pre-DT) use the
the rtc-at91rm9200 driver (e.g. obviously the AT91RM9200) and they should
not be impacted by the change. There shouldn't be a large volume of
interrupts associated with a RTC.

Chao Xie 0cc0c38e91 drivers/rtc/rtc-sa1100.c: move clock enable/disable to probe/remove
The original sa1100_rtc_open/sa1100_rtc_release will be called when the
/dev/rtc0 is opened or closed. In fact, these two functions will
enable/disable the clock. Disabling clock will make rtc not work. So
only enable/disable clock when probe/remove the device.

Laxman Dewangan 225ccc2872 drivers/rtc/rtc-tps65910.c: set irq flag to IRQF_EARLY_RESUME during irq request
All interrupt get disabled during system suspend and enabled during system
resume. The enabling/disabling of interrupt happen in sequence of
interrupt registration with framework.

Therefore, in resume, the parent interrupt of this device enabled before
the RTC irq interrupt enabled. If RTC is enabled for alarm wake and if
system wake by alarm then there is interrupt pending for RTC. In resume,
the parent interrupt get enabled before the rtc interrupt and hence ISR
get served. In ISR, it founds that rtc interrupt is disabled and so it
does not call the rtc isr handler and hence it misses the interrupt.

Setting flag for early resume so that rtc interrupt get enabled before
parent interrupt and so rtc interrupt get enabled when parent interrupt
handler check for interrupt of device and call the rtc handler if it is
there. This way it will not miss the interrupt.

Laxman Dewangan dfaf09ac85 drivers/rtc/rtc-tps65910.c: remove unnecessary irq stat save and restore
The driver stores the interrupt enable register before going to suspend
and restore in resume. Also it enables alarm before going to suspend.

The driver only write the Interrupt enable register for enabling ALARM and
does not enable any other bits. So it is not require to save complete
register and enable ALARM interrupt before suspend and restore in resume.

Also ALARM interrupt already enable if alarm is enabled before going to
suspend and hence it is not require to enable explictly in suspend.

Removing such above code.

Arnd Bergmann 6e7f7cfce2 These changes contain the OMAP USB related platform data changes
that were dropped from linux next because of the merge conflicts
as requested by me and Olof. The reason was that at this point
we really should be able to do the arch/arm related changes
separately from driver changes to avoid dependencies between
 branches.

These patches were initially part of the USB related MFD patches.
Based on our comments, Roger Quadros quickly reworked these
patches into a shared branch between ARM SoC tree and the MFD
tree, then separate patches for the OMAP platform data and
 MFD driver.

Note that this branch will conflict with c1d1cd597f
 ("ARM: OMAP2+: omap_device: remove obsolete pm_lats and
 early_device code"). Please see http://lkml.org/lkml/2013/2/11/16

Merge tag 'omap-for-v3.9/usb-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/soc

These changes contain the OMAP USB related platform data changes
that were dropped from linux next because of the merge conflicts
as requested by me and Olof.

Please see http://lkml.org/lkml/2013/2/11/16
for the merge resolution.

Linus Walleij 3399cfb5df drivers/rtc/rtc-pl031.c: restore ST variant functionality
Commit e7e034e18a ("drivers/rtc/rtc-pl031.c: fix the missing operation
on enable") accidentally broke the ST variants of PL031.

The bit that is being poked as "clockwatch" enable bit for the ST
variants does the work of bit 0 on this variant. Bit 0 is used for a
clock divider on the ST variants, and setting it to 1 will affect
timekeeping in a very bad way.

Michał Mirosław 9f3b795a62 driver-core: constify data for class_find_device()
All in-kernel users of class_find_device() don't really need mutable
data for match callback.

In two places (kernel/power/suspend_test.c, drivers/scsi/osd/osd_uld.c)
this patch changes match callbacks to use const search data.

The const is propagated to rtc_class_open() and power_supply_get_by_name()
parameters.

Note that there's a dev reference leak in suspend_test.c that's not
touched in this patch.

Haojian Zhuang e7e034e18a drivers/rtc/rtc-pl031.c: fix the missing operation on enable
The RTC control register should be enabled in the process of
initializing.

Without this patch, I failed to enable RTC in Hisilicon Hi3620 SoC. The
register mapping section in RTC is always read as zero. So I doubt that
ST guys may already enable this register in bootloader. So they won't
meet this issue.
