### Windows Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app error.

Occasionally, when you launch Visual Studio Code, you are prompted with an error message that it cannot find the Arduino IDE or related board package.
To resolve, close Visual Studio Code, then launches the actual Arduino IDE once. Subsequently, when you open Visual Studio Code it should correctly locate the Arduino IDE path.
To resolve, please install the latest version of Arduino IDE [here](https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software). Then Open **File > Preference > Settings** and add following lines to set the configurations for Arduino.
* Windows
```JSON
"arduino.path": "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Arduino",
"arduino.additionalUrls": "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/VSChina/azureiotdevkit_tools/master/package_azureboard_index.json"
### Additional warnings during compilation.
It is caused by the incorrect warning handling between Visual Studio Code Arduino extension and Arduino IDE. To solve this problem, the work around is to uninstall Arduino IDE from your local system and install the latest version of [Arduino IDE](https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software).
### Compilation error for Azure Function.
When the mini solution of Shake-Shake and IoT DevKit Translator do not work, in Azure portal, you got the following error for the Azure Function you deployed:
```
2017-11-15T03:24:23.426 Function compilation error
2017-11-15T03:24:23.426 run.csx(11,23): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Devices' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft.Azure' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
2017-11-15T03:24:23.426 run.csx(95,15): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'ServiceClient' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
2017-11-15T03:24:23.426 run.csx(95,45): error CS0103: The name 'ServiceClient' does not exist in the current context
```
And you could not find porject.lock.json in files of the Azure Function. This is caused by a new [Azure Function issue](https://github.com/Azure/Azure-Functions/issues/590).
Here is the workaround:
1. In `Platform features` tab of the deployed Function App, click `Application settings`.
2. Add a new Application setting named `WEBSITE_USE_PLACEHOLDER` with value 0.
3. Save and Restart the Function App.
### Unable to sync time with NTP time server
IoT DevKit would synchronize time with NTP time server before connecting to Azure IoT Hub. Sometimes, user would get the following error from serial port:
```
Unable to get the NTP host pool.ntp.org
Unable to get the NTP host cn.pool.ntp.org
Unable to get the NTP host europe.pool.ntp.org
Unable to get the NTP host asia.pool.ntp.org
Unable to get the NTP host oceania.pool.ntp.org

This may caused by the NTP traffic blocked by firewall in the Gateway. To solve this problem, make sure that UDP port 123 is open on all firewalls between IoT DevKit and the remote time servers.

## Version 1.6.0 (December 19, 2018)
### Release Summary
Happy holidays, everyone!
This is a minor version increase of our IoT DevKit SDK!
* Upgrade Azure IoT C SDK to 1.2.10, which is the most latest version, and much stable than old version.
* Release the polished WebSocket library.
* Fixed the SPI library. Sorry for finding this issue so late. This is not only the software bug but also circuit issue, so if you want to use the extern SPI pins please remove one resistor as bellow:
![SPI]({{"/assets/images/release/160_spi_fix.png" | absolute_url }})
The extern SPI is shared with the built in codec chip, so there have one pin conflict. Remove this resistor can solve the SPI issue but the codec cant work well, that means you cant use any Audio functions if enable the extern SPI, vice versa.
Special thanks to [Sean Kelly](https://github.com/seank-com) for polishing the WebSocket library and **Xavier Geerinck** found the SPI issue, thank you for your contributions and feedbacks.
