Rafael Espindola 0b4fe503ef During codegen of a virtual call we would extract any casts in the expression
to see if we had an underlying final class or method, but we would then
use the cast type to do the call, resulting in a direct call to the wrong
method.

Richard Smith e6975e9b09 Implement DR1330 in C++11 mode, to support libstdc++4.7 which uses it.
We have a new flavor of exception specification, EST_Uninstantiated. A function
type with this exception specification carries a pointer to a FunctionDecl, and
the exception specification for that FunctionDecl is instantiated (if needed)
and used in the place of the function type's exception specification.

When a function template declaration with a non-trivial exception specification
is instantiated, the specialization's exception specification is set to this
new 'uninstantiated' kind rather than being instantiated immediately.

Expr::CanThrow has migrated onto Sema, so it can instantiate exception specs
on-demand. Also, any odr-use of a function triggers the instantiation of its
exception specification (the exception specification could be needed by IRGen).
In passing, fix two places where a DeclRefExpr was created but the corresponding
function was not actually marked odr-used. We used to get away with this, but
don't any more.

Also fix a bug where instantiating an exception specification which refers to
function parameters resulted in a crash. We still have the same bug in default
arguments, which I'll be looking into next.

This, plus a tiny patch to fix libstdc++'s common_type, is enough for clang to
parse (and, in very limited testing, support) all of libstdc++4.7's standard
headers.

Richard Smith fe587201fe PR12226: don't generate wrong code if a braced string literal is used to
initialize an array of unsigned char. Outside C++11 mode, this bug was benign,
and just resulted in us emitting a constant which was double the required
length, padded with 0s. In C++11, it resulted in us generating an array whose
first element was something like i8 ptrtoint ([n x i8]* @str to i8).

Richard Smith 9fcce65e7e AST representation for user-defined literals, plus just enough of semantic
analysis to make the AST representation testable. They are represented by a
new UserDefinedLiteral AST node, which is a sugared CallExpr. All semantic
properties, including full CodeGen support, are achieved for free by this
representation.

UserDefinedLiterals can never be dependent, so no custom instantiation
behavior is required. They are mangled as if they were direct calls to the
underlying literal operator. This matches g++'s apparent behavior (but not its
actual mangling, which is broken for literal-operator-ids).

User-defined *string* literals are now fully-operational, but the semantic
analysis is quite hacky and needs more work. No other forms of user-defined
literal are created yet, but the AST support for them is present.

This patch committed after midnight because we had already hit the quota for
new kinds of literal yesterday.

Douglas Gregor ac1303eca6 Generate an AST for the conversion from a lambda closure type to a
block pointer that returns a block literal which captures (by copy)
the lambda closure itself. Some aspects of the block literal are left
unspecified, namely the capture variable (which doesn't actually
exist) and the body (which will be filled in by IRgen because it can't
be written as an AST).

Because we're switching to this model, this patch also eliminates
tracking the copy-initialization expression for the block capture of
the conversion function, since that information is now embedded in the
synthesized block literal. -1 side tables FTW.

Sebastian Redl 32cf1f27ae Basic code generation support for std::initializer_list.
We now generate temporary arrays to back std::initializer_list objects
initialized with braces. The initializer_list is then made to point at
the array. We support both ptr+size and start+end forms, although
the latter is untested.

Array lifetime is correct for temporary std::initializer_lists (e.g.
call arguments) and local variables. It is untested for new expressions
and member initializers.

Things left to do:
Massively increase the amount of testing. I need to write tests for
start+end init lists, temporary objects created as a side effect of
initializing init list objects, new expressions, member initialization,
creation of temporary objects (e.g. std::vector) for initializer lists,
and probably more.
Get lifetime "right" for member initializers and new expressions. Not
that either are very useful.

Sebastian Redl 5f688f4b15 Make CXXNewExpr contain only a single initialier, and not hold the used constructor itself.
Holding the constructor directly makes no sense when list-initialized arrays come into play. The constructor is now held in a CXXConstructExpr, if construction is what is done. The new design can also distinguish properly between list-initialization and direct-initialization, as well as implicit default-initialization constructors and explicit value-initialization constructors. Finally, doing it this way removes redundance from the AST because CXXNewExpr doesn't try to handle both the allocation and the initialization responsibilities.

This breaks the static analysis of new expressions. I've filed PR12014 to track this.

git-svn-id: https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/cfe/trunk@150682 91177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8

John McCall 4d4e5c1ae8 Split reinterpret_casts of member pointers out from CK_BitCast; this
is general goodness because representations of member pointers are
not always equivalent across member pointer types on all ABIs
(even though this isn't really standard-endorsed).

Take advantage of the new information to teach IR-generation how
to do these reinterprets in constant initializers. Make sure this
works when intermingled with hierarchy conversions (although
this is not part of our motivating use case). Doing this in the
constant-evaluator would probably have been better, but that would
require a *lot* of extra structure in the representation of
constant member pointers: you'd really have to track an arbitrary
chain of hierarchy conversions and reinterpretations in order to
get this right. Ultimately, this seems less complex. I also
wasn't quite sure how to extend the constant evaluator to handle
foldings that we don't actually want to treat as extended
constant expressions.

Sebastian Redl 5b9cc5df25 Represent C++ direct initializers as ParenListExprs before semantic analysis
instead of having a special-purpose function.

- ActOnCXXDirectInitializer, which was mostly duplication of
AddInitializerToDecl (leading e.g. to PR10620, which Eli fixed a few days
  ago), is dropped completely.
- MultiInitializer, which was an ugly hack I added, is dropped again.
- We now have the infrastructure in place to distinguish between
  int x = {1};
  int x({1});
  int x{1};
-- VarDecl now has getInitStyle(), which indicates which of the above was used.
-- CXXConstructExpr now has a flag to indicate that it represents list-
initialization, although this is not yet used.
- InstantiateInitializer was renamed to SubstInitializer and simplified.
- ActOnParenOrParenListExpr has been replaced by ActOnParenListExpr, which
always produces a ParenListExpr. Placed that so far failed to convert that
back to a ParenExpr containing comma operators have been fixed. I'm pretty
sure I could have made a crashing test case before this.

The end result is a (I hope) considerably cleaner design of initializers.
More importantly, the fact that I can now distinguish between the various
initialization kinds means that I can get the tricky generalized initializer
test cases Johannes Schaub supplied to work. (This is not yet done.)

This commit passed self-host, with the resulting compiler passing the tests. I
hope it doesn't break more complicated code. It's a pretty big change, but one
that I feel is necessary.

  - Dealing with temporaries created during said initialization
  - Template instantiation
  - AST (de-)serialization
  - Binding and returning the lambda expression; turning it into a
  proper temporary
  - Lots and lots of semantic constraints
  - Parameter pack captures

Dylan Noblesmith f7ccbad5d9 Basic: import SmallString<> into clang namespace
(I was going to fix the TODO about DenseMap too, but
that would break self-host right now. See PR11922.)

Matt Beaumont-Gay 56e68b7129 Pacify gcc's -Wreturn-type.
A separate unreachable message will make it easier to debug if either of the
unreachables is reached.

David Blaikie 561d3abc88 Remove unnecessary default cases in switches over enums.
This allows -Wswitch-enum to find switches that need updating when these enums are modified.

David Chisnall 7a7ee3033e Some improvements to the handling of C11 atomic types:
- Add atomic-to/from-nonatomic cast types
- Emit atomic operations for arithmetic on atomic types
- Emit non-atomic stores for initialisation of atomic types, but atomic stores and loads for every other store / load
- Add a __atomic_init() intrinsic which does a non-atomic store to an _Atomic() type. This is needed for the corresponding C11 stdatomic.h function.
- Enables the relevant __has_feature() checks. The feature isn't 100% complete yet, but it's done enough that we want people testing it.

Still to do:

- Make the arithmetic operations on atomic types (e.g. Atomic(int) foo = 1; foo++;) use the correct LLVM intrinsic if one exists, not a loop with a cmpxchg.
- Add a signal fence builtin
- Properly set the fenv state in atomic operations on floating point values
- Correctly handle things like _Atomic(_Complex double) which are too large for an atomic cmpxchg on some platforms (this requires working out what 'correctly' means in this context)
- Fix the many remaining corner cases
