Merge branch 'cb/maint-unpack-trees-absense' into maint

* cb/maint-unpack-trees-absense:
  unpack-trees: remove redundant path search in verify_absent
  unpack-trees: fix path search bug in verify_absent
  unpack-trees: handle failure in verify_absent
