 Please try the ListViewTest.exe (build from your code) I attached on 
 your Mono installation on Linux. If it does not work then you can 
 make sure that the problem is in the runtime environment (maybe Mono 
 or anything else) not in the application.

+Just tried it on two machines (Mono 1.1.8 / SVN, both SuSE 9.2). It   
+doesn't work because of the blocking bug #75291 (crashes when   
+deserializing the ImageStream)!
