No, the bug report is the same, there is some disagreement on whenever this is
a runtime bug or a gtk# one.

I can't repro this with mono 2.8 either. Could you try running the resulting
executable from the command line, i.e.:
c:\Program Files\Mono 2.8\bin\mono.exe TreeViewDemo.exe
