When running mono with -O=-aot, the crash does not occur:

  /usr/bin/mono -O=-aot /usr/lib/mono/2.0/gmcs.exe

Note that I am on x86 (32 bit) - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz

As for packaging goes - all I did was dist-upgrade from openSUSE 11.3 packages
to the packages provided by Mono for 11.3. My system is otherwise stock.
