[Mono-osx] libgdiplus for Mac OS X

What is the recommended way to get and/or build libgdiplus for Mac OS X?
Building from source is extremely difficult to a long chain of dependencies
including pkg-config and libtool (for fontconfig), among others. Is anyone
else using libgdiplus on the Mac, and if so, how do you prefer to get your
hands on it?
