[mono-android] installation on ics emulator phone

I'm installing an app to the ics emulator on my windows laptop (mac, i7, 8 gigs, blah, blah, blah).  I'm seeing that installing the mono runtime and platform framework are horribly slow.  Is there anything that I can do to speed this up?
