open-vm-tools 2009.01.21-10.1 (and higher) have the permissions for the
suid-wrapper set correctly.

I experience a racing condition though: If I have the system configured for
'automatic login', the vmware-user-suid-wrapper is started to early and the
device to be attached to is not ready, thus it fails with the DnD. If I logout
/ login, then everything works as expected.

Will have to find a way to get this delayed a bit. Pavol: good ideas for this?
(I'll try to get in touch with upstream to have the wrapper a bit more generic,
like having it try 3 / times with a short interval).
