Matt Basta 557fb9c0ae Add query param whitelisting for navigation (bug 810308) 
The back button will now take you back to the search that you were on
and properly close navigation loops with pages that have similar but
not identical sets of query parameters.

Matt Basta 9a5a2eb284 Fix for validator results tomfoolery 
The `description` field of a validation message is now `null` if there
is no description for the message (for consistency). No need for such
strict type restrictions; a falsey value is an empty description
always.

Matt Basta 1fbfa6b916 This is a pointless test anyway. 
Python has its own unit test suite, we don't need to test that `open()`
can open filenames with unicode characters.

Matt Basta 8b3e08d499 Fix janky test 
The test was written by someone who thought that defining an unknown
field would always raise an error in the validator (it no longer
does...it raises a warning). Changed to do something that causes a
*real* error.

everything to `None` instead of whatever we're given. What's the worst
that could happen?
