Revert "Enable one_sided_compound by default"

This reverts commit bf3813a166.

Reason for revert: feature not ready.
Incompatible with lossless under some circumstances,
causes the following assertion failure:
Assertion `(!is_compound) == (cm->reference_mode == SINGLE_REFERENCE)' failed
