Nathan Froyd d613ab5af6 Bug 1561410 - modify TestThreadPool to be more robust with bad timekeeping; r=KrisWright
Giving each logical test its own counter variable will help tests to not
interfere with each other. We also make one infinite looping thread
exit so we're not chewing CPU after these tests finish.

Kristen Wright a77062c3e5 Bug 1544452 - Increase slack boundaries for ExpirationTracker gtest r=froydnj
Increased slack boundaries to account for issues with timer bounds in macos 1014. Lower bound slack = 60ms and upper bound slack = 1200ms. The intent is to get gtests working in the short term while timer delays are fixed, then roll the slack boundary back to 30ms.

Emilio Cobos Álvarez b7cf474626 Bug 1559546 - Introduce nsAtom::IsEmpty. r=njn
Both for symmetry with other string APIs, and also to prevent footguns (since I
debugged for a while a typo where I wrote nsGkAtoms::empty rather than
nsGkAtoms::_empty).

We could use null here, but that will not be possible in the future when I use
the rust representation of more grid data structures (at least without
increasing memory usage).

So I think I'll keep using ::_empty as a signaling value for "no grid
identifier".

This uses GetPerformanceInformation() to measure how much commit space is

Haik Aftandilian d302444d67 Bug 1498742 - Part 2 - Start the GMP sandbox earlier during process startup r=jya, cpearce
Change the Mac GMP process launch to include sandboxing params on the command line to allow the sandbox to be started earlier during GMP process launch. Content, extension, and RDD processes have already been changed to start the sandbox earlier.

Update GMPProcessParent to override GeckoChildProcessHost methods used to construct sandboxing parameters. Pass the plugin path as a sandbox parameter so that the sandbox rules can whitelist the plugin directory which is now read after the sandbox is enabled in the plugin process. On development builds, pass "testingReadPath" params so directories needed during automated tests can be whitelisted.

Update Mac sandboxing code to detect GMP sandbox params on the command line and enable the sandbox with additional arguments needed for early sandbox start.

Allow reverting to the old implementation by setting security.sandbox.gmp.mac.earlyinit to false.

Dave Townsend d9a9041a7c Bug 1556832: Comparing compatibility versions goes on to check the build IDs when the version is newer. r=froydnj
When comparing compatibility versions we first compare the version part. If that
shows us to be a downgrade then we stop checking at that point. But we must also
stop checking if it shows us to be an upgrade since we don't need to check the
build IDs at that point. This also applies to the check for the app build ID.

This means that a newer version with an older build id will appear to be a
downgrade.

This is problematic for safe mode because when safe mode runs it sets the
compatibility version to "Safe Mode" (bug 1556831) to ensure that caches are
invalidated on next startup. On the next run the Firefox version is considered
as newer than "Safe Mode" so we would move on to comparing the build IDs. But
the Firefox build ID gets version compared to "" (since there isn't a build ID
part in "Safe Mode"). Since build ID's are larger than 32-bit numbers we trigger
bug 1556829 and the actual comparison depends on the value of the build ID
truncated to 32-bits. This seems to often be negative and so lower than the
apparent previous build ID causing us to think this is a downgrade.

Cue nfroydnj saying I told you so because if I'd written this as a more
traditional compare function as he suggested I probably would have caught this.

Nathan Froyd 88c9734950 Bug 1555990 - fix theoretical xptcodegen issue with nested array types; r=nika
When we're lowering extra types (e.g. array element types) and we find
that we haven't already lowered the type, we say that the new type is
going to live at the end of the `types` array. But we don't append a
new type (i.e. filling in the entry) until after we call `lower_type`,
which means that some other call to `lower_extra_type` might find
that *its* new type will live at the same position we "allocated" higher
up on the stack.

We don't appear to run into this issue, as the only nested array types
are things like `Array<Array<uint8>>`, and `uint8` is guaranteed to
already have been lowered. But if people start doing more complicated
things, we're bound to run into this sooner or later.

Ehsan Akhgari 7a3585c49f Bug 1415270 - Part 3: Prevent the editing APIs from being called on non-HTML documents; r=masayuki
This is similar to this Chromium change:
https://codereview.chromium.org/1155353002

The editing spec doesn't mention editing non-HTML documents, and historically
this is only a feature that WebKit has supported. Supporting this feature
increases the attack surface of the browser without a clear benefit, so it
seems like a good idea to converge on this behaviour.

Andrew McCreight 20b03783b4 Bug 1550770 - Error instead of implicitly converting XPCOM interfaces to builtinclass. r=nika
XPIDL has the requirement that [scriptable] interfaces with [notxpcom]
methods or attributes are [builtinclass]. Currently, if you don't
explicitly mark something builtinclass when it should be, then the
XPIDL compiler will just silently treat it like builtinclass. This
means that you can cause the JS implementation of an XPCOM to start
failing without any warning by marking a method notxpcom.

This patch instead makes it an error. A prior patch fixed the existing
instances in the tree that relied on the implicit behavior.

I also added a test that we reject such classes missing builtinclass
at compile time, as well as classes that inherit from builtinclass
interfaces without themselves being builtinclass. I left behind a part
of the runtime test for this behavior, but now this test just ensures
that you can't implement a [builtinclass] interface in JS.

Masayuki Nakano 006066d2ee Bug 1546888 - Make editor public methods which may be canceled by clipboard event listener return NS_SUCCESS_DOM_NO_OPERATION when it's canceled r=m_kato
This patch makes editors return new error code internally when clipboard event
is dispatched and canceled by script. This is for making each caller stop
handling the edit action. However, it's not actual failure. Therefore, making
public methods return `NS_SUCCESS_DOM_NO_OPERATION` instead via
`EditorBase::ToGenericNSResult()`.

Temporarily just sidestep the issue in bug 1546498 (crash with latest SDK

investigate why that is, and why we see a mysterious crash in the fallback

Ryan Hunt 3675f2449b Bug 1534395 - Rename nsITabParent to nsIRemoteTab. r=nika, mconley
nsITabParent is exposed to frontend code and is generally used as a representation of a remote tab. We could just rename the interface to nsIBrowserParent and worry about it later, but I think it's better to rename the interface to nsIRemoteTab so that we can later work on splitting the interface away from the PBrowser protocol.

Note: Some frontend code refers to a TabParentId. This commit renames this to RemoteTabId. We need to figure out the purpose of TabId with fission.
