Kyle Machulis 6d3b4e7492 Bug 1492648 - Move from nsDocShellLoadInfo to nsDocShellLoadState; r=bz, nika
Creates the nsDocShellLoadState object, which is basically
nsDocShellLoadInfo plus a few extra fields to make it usable as a
single argument to nsDocShell::LoadURI (and eventually
nsDocShell::InternalLoad).

Subframe history handling is a huge logic block in
nsDocShell::LoadURI, which is only used on history loads. This patch
also extracts the logic out into its own function to make the body of
LoadURI clearer.

Henrik Skupin 80fec61f82 Bug 1489967 - Keep active state when Firefox is moved to background and focusmanager test mode is enabled. r=enndeakin
The test mode can be used to virtually give a Chrome window the
focus even with Firefox being in the background.

Currently when such a window has the focus and another application
is moved to the foreground, the active state is lost. This means that
for example Selenium tests which are run in parallel and using
different instances of Firefox will not receive the expected
"focus" and "blur" events.

This patch checks for the test mode and if enabled doesn't
lower the window, which will keep the focused state.

Kris Maglione 0425e42aa8 Bug 1484496: Part 3 - Fix nsISimpleEnumerator implementations with broken contracts. r=froydnj
The nsISimpleEnumerator contract specifies that GetNext() returns
NS_ERROR_FAILURE when iteration is complete. Several implementations, however,
either return NS_OK and a null result, or return some other error code, when
iteration is complete.

Since my initial implementation of the JS iteration stubs rely on the
contract-defined behavior of GetNext(), these need to be fixed before it can
land.

Kris Maglione 65c28aa0ad Bug 1484496: Part 2 - Add common base class for all nsISimpleEnumerator implementations. r=froydnj
In order to allow JS callers to use nsISimpleEnumerator instances with the JS
iteration protocol, we'll need to additional methods to every instance. Since
we currently have a large number of unrelated implementations, it would be
best if they could share the same implementation for the JS portion of the
protocol.

This patch adds a stub nsSimpleEnumerator base class, and updates all existing
implementations to inherit from it. A follow-up will add a new base interface
to this class, and implement the additional functionality required for JS
iteration.

It also removes some dead code and reorders some other logic wrt

Using concrete class types with static IIDs in QueryInterface methods is a
pretty common pattern which isn't supported by any existing helper macros.
That's lead to separate ad-hoc implementations, with varying degrees of

This patch adds a helper macro with a canonical (and safe) implementation, and
updates existing ad-hoc users to use it.

Xidorn Quan 0e6f1f5155 Bug 1446264 part 3 - Avoid ignoring and persisting size/position/sizemode when we are setting them from SizeShell(). r=bz,florian
When SetSize etc. are called before OnChromeLoaded has been invoked,
the functions assume that the window initialization code wants to size
the window specifically, and thus ignore the values from the <window>
element.

However, bug 1439875 changes the behavior so that SizeShell is also
invoked before OnChromeLoaded, which confuses the functions above, and
causes some of the attributes not to be loaded properly.

This patch adds a separate flag to avoid ignoring those attributes when
those functions are invoked as part of SizeShell itself.

It can cause extra reflow if the window is opened in maximized state,
and thus the new whitelist items. They may be fixed by bug 1448199.

Xidorn Quan dcd5c4908e Bug 1442521 - Make width/height attr on <window> mean the inner size in nsXULWindow. r=bz
It seems that the layout system assumes those attributes are for size of
the <window> element, i.e. inner window size, not outer window size.

See for example nsContainerFrame::SyncWindowProperties. It reads
{min, max}{width, height} attributes from the element via
nsIFrame::GetXUL{Min,Max}Size, and passes them into SetSizeConstraints.
The latter inflates the sizes with window decoration size before calling
into widget code. It can also be seen that various XUL size related
methods on nsBox and nsIFrame put the same assumption.

The test test_windowminmaxsize.xul apparently puts the same assumption
as the layout system on the meaning of those properties.

(Another test test_resize_move_windows.xul, which tests effectiveness of
features of window.open, also fails if we size the window earlier than
current in bug 1439875, and doesn't fail with this patch on top. It may
indicate that it makes use of the same assumption, but I can't really
figure out how it does so.)

Andrew McCreight 5dec0e0beb Bug 1432992, part 1 - Remove definitions of Ci, Cr, Cc, and Cu. r=florian
This patch was autogenerated by my decomponents.py

It covers almost every file with the extension js, jsm, html, py,
xhtml, or xul.

It removes blank lines after removed lines, when the removed lines are
preceded by either blank lines or the start of a new block. The "start
of a new block" is defined fairly hackily: either the line starts with
//, ends with */, ends with {, <![CDATA[, """ or '''. The first two
cover comments, the third one covers JS, the fourth covers JS embedded
in XUL, and the final two cover JS embedded in Python. This also
applies if the removed line was the first line of the file.

It covers the pattern matching cases like "var {classes: Cc,
interfaces: Ci, utils: Cu, results: Cr} = Components;". It'll remove
the entire thing if they are all either Ci, Cr, Cc or Cu, or it will
remove the appropriate ones and leave the residue behind. If there's
only one behind, then it will turn it into a normal, non-pattern
matching variable definition. (For instance, "const { classes: Cc,
Constructor: CC, interfaces: Ci, utils: Cu } = Components" becomes
"const CC = Components.Constructor".)

Nicholas Nethercote f582d96b98 Bug 1390428 (part 9) - Remove nsXPIDLCString. r=erahm.
This is straightforward, with only two notable things.

- `#include "nsXPIDLString.h" is replaced with `#include "nsString.h"`
throughout, because all nsXPIDLString.h did was include nsString.h. The
exception is for files which already include nsString.h, in which case the
patch just removes the nsXPIDLString.h inclusion.

- The patch removes the |xpidl_string| gtest, but improves the |voided| test to
cover some of its ground, e.g. testing Adopt(nullptr).

Julian Seward 408d24da56 Bug 1382563 - Remove ns*String::AssignWithConversion. r=erahm.
This patch replaces four functions of the name AssignWithConversion which
are essentially wrappers around CopyASCIItoUTF16 and LossyCopyUTF16toASCII
with direct calls to the latter two functions. The replaced functions are:

  void nsCString::AssignWithConversion( const nsAString& aData )
  void nsString::AssignWithConversion( const nsACString& aData )

  void nsTString_CharT::AssignWithConversion(
                            const incompatible_char_type* aData,
                            int32_t aLength = -1);

The last of the three exists inside the double-included nsTString* world and
so describes two functions, giving four in total.

This has two advantages:

* it removes code

* at the call points, it makes clear (from the replacement name) which
conversion is being carried out. The generic name "AssignWithConversion"
doesn't make that obvious -- one had to infer it from the types.

The patch also removes two commented out lines from
editor/composer/nsComposerCommands.cpp, that appear to be related. They are
at top level, where they would never have compiled. They look like
leftovers from some previous change.

Nicholas Nethercote 58786e1ea7 Bug 1375392 - Tweak the PROFILER_LABEL* macros. r=mstange.
This patch makes the following changes to the macros.

- Removes PROFILER_LABEL_FUNC. It's only suitable for use in functions outside
classes, due to PROFILER_FUNCTION_NAME not getting class names, and it was
  mostly misused.

- Removes PROFILER_FUNCTION_NAME. It's no longer used, and __func__ is
  universally available now anyway.

- Combines the first two string literal arguments of PROFILER_LABEL and
PROFILER_LABEL_DYNAMIC into a single argument. There was no good reason for
them to be separate, and it forced a '::' in the label, which isn't always
appropriate. Also, the meaning of the "name_space" argument was interpreted
in an interesting variety of ways.

- Adds an "AUTO_" prefix to PROFILER_LABEL and PROFILER_LABEL_DYNAMIC, to make
it clearer they construct RAII objects rather than just being function calls.
(I myself have screwed up the scoping because of this in the past.)

- Fills in the 'js::ProfileEntry::Category::' qualifier within the macro, so
the caller doesn't need to. This makes a *lot* more of the uses fit onto a
  single line.

The patch also makes the following changes to the macro uses (beyond those
required by the changes described above).

- Fixes a bunch of labels that had gotten out of sync with the name of the
class and/or function that encloses them.

- Removes a useless PROFILER_LABEL use within a trivial scope in
  EventStateManager::DispatchMouseOrPointerEvent(). It clearly wasn't serving
any useful purpose. It also serves as extra evidence that the AUTO_ prefix is
  a good idea.

- Tweaks DecodePool::SyncRunIf{Preferred,Possible} so that the labelling is
done within them, instead of at their callsites, because that's a more
  standard way of doing things.

Aryeh Gregor af57d2df0f Bug 1251198 - Remove various obsolete events from document.createEvent r=smaug
Other browsers do not support any of these (IIRC), telemetry reports
essentially zero usage, and supporting them is contrary to the DOM spec.

Notes on specific events:

CommandEvent and SimpleGestureEvent: These are not supposed to be
web-exposed APIs, so I hid the interfaces from web content too
(necessary to avoid test_all_synthetic_events.html failures).

DataContainerEvent: This was a non-standard substitute for CustomEvent
that seemed to have only one user, so I removed it entirely and switched
the user (MozillaFileLogger.js) to CustomEvent.

ScrollAreaEvent: This is entirely non-standard, but we apparently expose
it deliberately to web content, so I didn't see any reason to remove it
from createEvent.

SimpleGestureEvent and XULCommandEvent: Can still be created from
createEvent(), but not by content.

TimeEvent: This is still in because it has no constructor, so there's no
other way to create it. Ideally we'd update the SMIL spec to add a
constructor. I did remove TimeEvents.

Brendan Dahl ea4ae58e28 Bug 1353814 - Use PuppetWidget with windowless browsers. r=jrmuizel

Brendan Dahl a1f2e12af8 Bug 1338004 - Add headless browser mode. r=jrmuizel, r=ted
Supports creating a windowless browser on Linux without an X server. Most of the
changes are just adding branches to avoid calls in to GTK which calls
into X. Some of the bigger additions were adding a separate headless widget
which implements just enough to render a page. A headless look and
feel were also added since there are many calls into GTK in the platform
specific one.

Tim Huang 3b43737132 Bug 1330882 - Part 4: Making the window.open() can only open rounded windows and the inner window will be automatically rounded after setting size through innerWidth/Height and outerWidth/Height when fingerprinting resistance is enabled. r=smaug
This patch makes the size of inner windows will be automatically rounded for
either window.open() with window features or setting window size through
innerWidth/Height and outerWidth/Height when fingerprinting resistance is
enabled. If the given value is greater the maximum available rounded size, then
it will be set to the maximum value. Otherwise, the size will be set to the
nearest upper 200x100.

This patch also adds one helper function in nsContentUtils for calculating the
rounded window dimensions.

Kartikaya Gupta cf091ea0eb Bug 1328066 - Don't broadcast the live-resize events to all browser windows unnecessarily. r=mstange
The machinery for suppressing the displayport during live resizes
was using the Observer service. However, in the case of multiple
browser windows, this meant that all the open browser windows would
have their displayport suppressed if *any* of the browser windows
was being resized. This was mostly ok, as the displayport suppression
would be turned off once the resize ended. However, the code to
kick off a repaint with the unsuppressed displayport would only get
triggered on one of the windows (whichever happened to process the
unsuppress message last).

This patch stops using the Observer service for the implementation
machinery, and instead locates the active TabParent of the relevant
nsWindow, and invokes the displayport suppression directly on that.
This fixes the repainting bug and also avoids unnecessarily
broadcasting the suppression/unsuppression notification to windows
that don't neccessarily need it.

we use NO_APP_ID. Other notions of appId which were restricted to this

They don't need to be NS_IMETHOD, but they should be MOZ_MUST_USE. Adding the
latter catches a few missing checks, which the patch adds.

The patch also gives PuppetWidget an InfallibleCreate() function, which makes
the infallibility of PuppetWidget creation clear.

Nicholas Nethercote 67af4817e9 Bug 1293596 (part 2) - Rework nsIWidget bounds getters. r=mstange.
This patch makes GetBounds(), GetScreenBounds() and GetClientBounds() more
obviously infallible, like existing functions such as GetNaturalBounds() and
GetClientSize(). This results in clearer behaviour in nsCocoaWindow.mm if
Objective C exceptions occur. Along the way, the patch removes some useless
failure checks for these functions.

The patch also removes the NS_IMETHOD from GetRestoredBounds and makes that
function MOZ_MUST_USE.

Haik Aftandilian 50fdb00a05 Bug 1258925 - [e10s] Browser window is resized when click. r=gabor
Adds a new IPC message to the PBrowser protocol exposing
the number of tabs in the current window to the content
process. This allows the content process to reject window.resize*
calls in cases where there is more than one tab in the
window.

Ehsan Akhgari 3482a3267c Bug 1229220 - Update the scrollbar visibility prefs when initializing a TabChild; r=smaug
This will make sure that window.scrollbars correctly reflects the respective
chrome flags in e10s mode.

We also update nsXULWindow::SetContentScrollbarVisibility() to the new
nsContentUtils helper. That code is responsible for doing this work in the
single process case.
