Emilio Cobos Álvarez c64d0fcaa6 Bug 1773813 - Incorporate OS zoom factor in window sizing calculations. r=tnikkel
In bug 1773342 I made OS text scale factor behave like a full zoom
factor which applies to all pages (including the browser chrome). That's
generally straight forward but it makes some callsites that use unzoomed
CSS coordinates misbehave (or behave correctly accidentally actually in
some other cases).

The main fix here is making
nsIBaseWindow::UnscaledDevicePixelsPerCSSPixel() and
nsIScreen::GetDefaultCSSScaleFactor() account for OS zoom as necessary.
However, I also went through the relevant code and cleaned it up to use
typed units and operations when possible.

The setup means:

 * nsIWidget::GetDefaultScale() doesn't account for OS full zoom.
 * nsIBaseWindow and nsIScreen does.

These are the places where this should matter and stuff can get
confused, but this works surprisingly well for all callers (except one
nsDeviceContext one which we use only for PuppetWidget and we can
remove by falling back to 1.0 like all other widgets until the update
comes).

Emilio Cobos Álvarez 37d1e1d868 Bug 1773811 - Fix APZ autoscroll coordinates. r=tnikkel
In bug 1773342, I made OS text zoom behave like layout full zoom on all
pages (including the main browser page).

This means that getting CSS pixels from the browser page and turning
them to LayoutDevice pixels by multiplying by GetDefaultScale() isn't
right.

However, the caller already has the right device pixel values, so just
use them.

Nika Layzell e1e439a7b1 Bug 1769619 - Introduce nsIDocShellTreeOwner::primaryContentBrowsingContext, r=smaug
This is currently effectively just a helper around the existing
properties. Theoretically we could streamline things here in the future
by managing primary content entirely based on BrowsingContext rather
than docshell, but there's enough complexity there right now with other
properties like updating properties on content shells as they're
attached, that it's probably not worth trying to unify right now,
especially considering the low number of consumers.

Andrew McCreight c8c5c819df Bug 1514936, part 1 - Remove the outer argument to nsIFactory::createInstance. r=xpcom-reviewers,preferences-reviewers,nika,Gijs
This patch won't actually build, because a few bits of code are used
for both nsIFactory::createInstance and static components, and static
components are not fixed until the next patch.

The first place is nsLoadGroupConstructor, which uses an nsIFactory
macro to create a static component constructor. (This could be worked
around by expanding the macro to the state before this patch.)

The other issue is that nsAppShellConstructor is used in an nsIFactory
on OSX, but as a static component on all other platforms. This could
be worked around by wrapping nsAppShellConstructor in an adaptor that
passes in the extra null argument to nsAppShellConstructor.

This allows us to replace a number of magic numbers in the

guaranteed to be kept up to date.

This build script is able to run early enough during the build step as
generated files which take a `.jinja` file as an argument are hard-coded
to be run during the pre-export phase for Android builds. As it is just
as simple python script with no other dependencies, this shouldn't
impact geckoview build performance even when using build artifacts.

Given how nsIPrintSettings is passed around, stored and copied all over the
place, it's very hard to reason about where and when a RemotePrintJobChild is
needed or valid. This patch avoids all that by explicitly passing a
RemotePrintJobChild when it's needed.

Another reason to make this change is because RemotePrintJobChild really does
not belong on nsIPrintSettings. That interface is supposed to represent a
collection of settings for laying out the document that is to be printed.

Nika Layzell 6d304cac04 Bug 1754004 - Part 10: Clone PostData when writing into & reading from SessionHistoryInfo, r=smaug
Previously the SessionHistoryInfo would hold onto and hand out the
original nsIInputStream objects which were provided by the
nsDocShellLoadState and used to create the underlying channel. This
could cause issues in edge cases, as input streams when serialized over
IPC have their logical owner transferred to the IPC layer so that it can
copy the data to the peer process.

This patch changes the logic to instead clone the input stream to and
from the history info. This means that the history info has its own
instance of the stream type and interacting with it shouldn't interfere
with other consumers of the post data stream.

The behaviour for non-SHIP session history is not changed, as it doesn't
serialize the relevant streams over IPC in the same way, and is on track to be

Currently only same origin requests are preloaded and preloads in the

Chromes behavior.

Also only images get preloaded. This will change in the future to cover
asset types.

Currently the anchor isn't parsed correctly yet[1], so this will be
fixed in a future patch.

On non-2xx responses of the main document all ongoing preloads get
canceled. Already completed preloads don't get affected and are in the
cache.

It is currently untested whether unused preloads don't have side effects.

Another future patch should cover adding the preload to the devtools.

Nika Layzell d204f0052c Bug 1754004 - Part 10: Clone PostData when writing into & reading from SessionHistoryInfo, r=smaug

The behaviour for non-SHIP session history is not changed, as it doesn't
serialize the relevant streams over IPC in the same way, and is on track to be
removed.

For desktop this should basically have no impact (maybe impacts tab

Currently only same origin requests are preloaded and preloads in the
secure context. This may change in the future to match W3C decisions and
Chromes behavior.

Nika Layzell 642b5e7837 Bug 1756980 - Part 3: Clarify "process switch" parameters in DocumentLoadListener, r=smaug
This clarifies some of the members and arguments which were used in
DocumentLoadListener to make them more clear, adding documentation.

In addition to the simplifications of logic and improved naming, this
patch also moves the responsibility of managing StreamFilterRequest out
of DisconnectListeners so that stream listeners behave more
consistently, as the existing flag doesn't map well to whether or not
they should be cleared.

This was kept seperate from part 1 as it is largely a clarity
improvement, and may make it harder to see the important changes in that
part.

Nika Layzell e834665924 Bug 1756980 - Part 1: Redirect internally-handled attachment loads into new tabs, r=Gijs,smaug,necko-reviewers,dragana
This patch changes how we handle document loads which are being handled
internally but have Content-Disposition: attachment specified at the
DocumentLoadListener layer. This was done as process switching is
currently the only place during a load where we can change the target
BrowsingContext which the load will complete in.

The only situation where we should currently continue to deliver a
successful request to the default content-viewer despite
Content-Disposition: attachment being specified is when we choose to
handle a downloaded PDF internally, so this shouldn't impact other
cases.

The change is handled by forcing a process switch under the hood, and
opening a new browser window asynchronously to handle the process
switch, similar to how object and embed load upgrades are handled. This
is done using nsIBrowserDOMWindow to attempt to respect the user's
window opening preferences.

A small change to browser.js was also made to try to encourage the new
tab to be opened next to the previous tab, as well as to avoid starting
unnecessary new processes when creating the new browser window.

This allows popups and sidebars to use the chrome preferred
color-scheme.

This moves the responsibility of setting the content-preferred color
scheme to the appropriate browsers to the front-end (via tabs.css).

We still return the PreferredColorSchemeForContent() when there's no
pres context (e.g., for display:none in-process iframes). We could
potentially move a bunch of the pres-context data to the document
instead, but that should be acceptable IMO as for general web content
there's no behavior change in any case.

Nika Layzell 66b31a7ed2 Bug 1728331 - Part 1: Avoid cycling between processes when navigating within a tab, r=smaug
This patch replaces the previous process selection infrastructure with a
new setup implemented entirely in C++, which should more accurately
track the set of processes in use, and should encourage re-use of the
existing content process when navigating by not counting the current
tab.

This approach intentionally allows for process switching to another
process during navigation if there is uneven load between processes to
encourage balanced process use.

I think this may also fix some of the session restore issues with many
tabs using the same process, rather than being spread over 4, as we now
track a tab earlier in its lifecycle before the BrowserParent instance
is created.

Tim Huang 7e5160909f Bug 1760009 - Don't strip the URL query parameters if there is no triggering principal. r=smaug
In the case where the triggering principal doesn't exist, calling
nsDocShellLoadState::MaybeStripTrackerQueryStrings() will crash. It's
becuase we will access the triggering principal in the function.

The patch makes the function to return early if the triggering prinicpal
doesn't exist. In this case, we cannot decide if we need to strip the
URL because the information from the triggering principal is lacking.
Therefore, we can only return and don't strip the URL. Also, this can
avoid crashing Firefox.

Nika Layzell c14c6bb509 Bug 1647892 - Improve the reliability of test_double_submit.html, r=farre
Unlike the previous implementation, this new version performs the
waiting before sending response headers, meaning that it delays
OnStartRequest rather than just delaying the response body. As the
double-submission prevention currently only waits for OnStartRequest,
this should improve the reliability of the test.

Because the test no longer requires large amounts of data for delay
purposes, it has also been simplified to not generate random large
payloads anymore.

multipart/x-mixed-replace loads don't start a new load for parts other than the first,

trying to set the active entry to the loading entry for these loads, but because we
never started a new load after the first part, the loading entry would be null and we'd
just clear the active entry. history.replaceState would then try to replace the active
entry, but finding none it would just add a new one.
