Nika Layzell 05cfd24507 Bug 1523631 - Part 2: Add support for event listeners to JS Window Actor Protocols, r=jdai, qdot
This patch takes the approach of keeping track of a list of nsWindowRoot
objects in the JSWindowActorService. Listeners are then maintained for
each type of actor for every nsWindowRoot.

Boris Zbarsky f8e0094981 Bug 1528456. Fix browser_domainPolicy.js to not be racy. r=Gijs
The old complicated code here was working around a fundamental race in the
test. The test was trying to do the following:

1) Open a new tab. This sends an IPC message to do that and to start loading
about:blank in the tab.

2) Add a "load" listener. This sends an IPC message to add the listener.

3) Start loading the URL we really want to load. This sends an IPC message to
start the load.

There are two races here: the message from step 2 can be received before or
after the about:blank load is done, and the message from step 3 can be received
before or after the about:blank load is done. If step 2 wins the race (we add
the listener before the about:blank load is done) but step 3 loses the race
(new load starts only after the about:blank load is done), then we would get a
load event for the about:blank, not for the url we care about.

The test worked around this by having step 2 add a listener for the
"DOMDocElementInserted" event, which about:blank did not fire. Then when that
happened (indicating that the load from step 3 is now in progress), it added a
"load" listener. This fixed the race.

Bug 1528146 fixed about:blank to also fire "DOMDocElementInserted", so the test
became racy again. Now if the "DOMDocElementInserted" listener got added
_after_ the about:blank load had fired that event (which is what usually
happened), then the test passed. But if the IPC message from step 2 to add the
"DOMDocElementInserted" listener won the race against the about:blank load
firing "DOMDocElementInserted", then we added the "load" listener too early and
got the "load" event for the about:blank, not the document we cared about.

The fix is to just use the (now) existing openNewForegroundTab function which
lets us pass in a url, then wait until that URL is loaded, instead of trying to
reinvent that wheel.

There is an additional ride-along change to make openNewForegroundTab always
create a new process in this test, which is the original intent of the test but
wasn't necessarily guaranteed by the old code.

nsSystemInfo is initialzied at first page load. Actually, content process uses
sync IPC to get Android OS information. But now, we can use Java code even if
on content process, so we should use JNI directly instead of sync IPC.

Also, nsSystemInfo still has unused extern android_sdk_version that is for
HoneyComp's DNS hack. So let's remote it.

Aaron Klotz 84c01f8930 Bug 1400344: Rename mscom::MainThreadRuntime to mscom::ProcessRuntime and make it aware of Win32k lockdown and of multiple instantiations; r=Jamie
This patch takes care of a bunch of issues and does some cleanup:

* We rename mscom::MainThreadRuntime to mscom::ProcessRuntime, as the latter
is a more accurate name going forward.
* We make ProcessRuntime aware of the Win32k Lockdown process mitigation
policy. When Win32k is disabled, we perform process-wide COM initialization
in the multi-threaded apartment (since we cannot create an STA window).
* We refactor the mscom apartment region stuff to enable the Win32k lockdown
  pieces in ProcessRuntime.
* We move some Gecko-specific stuff into MOZILLA_INTERNAL_API guards so that
ProcessRuntime is usable outside of xul.dll (I will be needing it for the
  launcher process).
* Another thing that might happen with the launcher process is that, under
error conditions in the launcher, we create a ProcessRuntime object on a
background thread for the purposes of telemetry logging, but we also allow
the main thread to proceed to start as the browser. This could result in a
scenario where the main thread, as the browser process, is attempting to
instantiate its ProcessRuntime and ends up racing with the launcher process's
telemetry thread which has its own ProcessRuntime. To account for this
situation, we add mutual exclusion to the process-wide initialization code.
We host this part inside mozglue since that state is shared between both
  firefox.exe and xul.dll.
* We clean up ProcessRuntime::InitializeSecurity by using Vector to set up
  the EXPLICIT_ACCESS entries.
* We remove mscom::MainThreadClientInfo and replace it with a direct call to
  CoGetCallerTID
* We revise all references to this class to use the new name.

Ryan Hunt a0478b2152 Bug 1500257 part 7 - Modify RenderFrame to hold onto TabParent instead of nsFrameLoader. r=aosmond
A TabParent for a remote subframe will have the same owner content as the top-level
remote browser. This means that 'TabParent::GetFrameLoader()' will return the
frame loader of the top-level remote browser.

This is fine for getting the layer manager and compositor for connecting layer trees,
but the frame loader is also used to acquire a TabParent for its process ID. This
is incorrect in the remote subframe case, and will lead to the compositor rejecting
layer transactions for the remote subframe because it will only accept them from
the top-level remote browser's process.

This commit switches RenderFrame to just hold on to TabParent, and acquire the
nsFrameLoader as necessary.

Another change is to RenderFrame::SetOwnerContent. Previously this method would
take the new owner content and check an assertion. I don't see much value in the
assertion, so I've removed it. Additionally, now that we acquire the owner content,
and therefore the layer manager, from TabParent, we need to ensure that
RenderFrame::SetOwnerContent is ran after the TabParent has had it's owner content
updated. So the callsite has been moved into TabParent. This resolved a test failure
with frame loader swapping.

This commit adds a PRemoteFrame actor which is managed by PBrowser. It will
be created in a child process nsFrameLoader when loading a remote subframe.

This actor will mostly just bounce messages from a nsFrameLoader in the child
process to the actor in the parent process which will redirect the messages
to the TabParent of the remote subframe.

For cases where the class has direct calls (that is, we cast `this` to the

When calling a Recv/Alloc/Dealloc method on most types, cast `this` to the
derived class.

There is a heuristic to figure out what the correct derived type is. There is a
blacklist of types which we can't do direct calls on for the moment, as well as
an override for types that do work with direct calls but which don't match the
heuristic.

Jed Davis bcff2dd108 Bug 1487287 - Synchronize GeckoChildProcessHost destruction with launching. r=mccr8
In order to enable asynchronous launch, destruction of
GeckoChildProcessHost (and its subclasses) has to be delayed until after
launching (or anything else that might be made asynchronous in the
future) has completed, to prevent use-after-free. However, there are
other dependencies on process hosts always being destroyed on the I/O
thread, so refcounting would be difficult to use.

Instead, GeckoChildProcessHost now may not be destroyed directly, but
must go through a method that handles the scheduling.

There are also some minor cleanups to the affected headers (removed
duplicate access modifiers, and made PluginProcessParent final).

Blake Kaplan 3eed3c5f94 Bug 1517406 - Proxy these calls to the parent when required. r=asuth
Summary:

The push notifier needs to proxy its calls to the proper process in order to
notify service workers. With parent-intercept enabled, that means making sure
we notify in the parent and without it, that we notify in the content process.
Fortunately, we already have to do this proxying for the observer
notifications, so we can just piggyback on top of that code to make things
work for service workers.

Kris Maglione e930b89c34 Bug 1514594: Part 3 - Change ChromeUtils.import API.
***
Bug 1514594: Part 3a - Change ChromeUtils.import to return an exports object; not pollute global. r=mccr8

This changes the behavior of ChromeUtils.import() to return an exports object,
rather than a module global, in all cases except when `null` is passed as a
second argument, and changes the default behavior not to pollute the global
scope with the module's exports. Thus, the following code written for the old
model:

  ChromeUtils.import("resource://gre/modules/Services.jsm");

is approximately the same as the following, in the new model:

  var {Services} = ChromeUtils.import("resource://gre/modules/Services.jsm");

Since the two behaviors are mutually incompatible, this patch will land with a
scripted rewrite to update all existing callers to use the new model rather
than the old.
