The event held onto from the document's load handler was bogus by the time we sent it to the XMLHttpRequest's event listeners (DOM events have members that are stack-based and, despite being reference-counted objects, should not be held across a call. Make it possible to call send() again in onload without crashing. Send load event only after everything done (was sent too early if XML errors).
