On my MBPro, at least, this makes us no longer completely hang/crash on the testcase; it still hangs for a little while but recovers ok, and the tab can be closed or the browser quit normally. (The SVG still doesn't *render* successfully, presumably because of coordinate value overflows all over the place, but that's the case in other browsers as well; neither Chrome nor Safari seems to be able to render it.)
