This function was found to be a little slow while profiling due to repeated calls to mozpath.dirname. This patch speeds up the function replacing dirname with string manipulation (these paths are already normalized), by caching results on the basis of directory, and converting from iteration to recursion to increase use of the cache. This commit speeds up the "install tests" step run as a part of the build and running tests by ~10% on a fast linux laptop. --HG-- extra : commitid : HdYkcXQ2ezQ |

This directory contains common Python code. The basic rule is that if Python code is cross-module (that's "module" in the Mozilla meaning - as in "module ownership") and is MPL-compatible, it should go here. What should not go here: * Python that is not MPL-compatible (see other-licenses/) * Python that has good reason to remain close to its "owning" (Mozilla) module (e.g. it is only being consumed from there).
