Markdown guide for reference: https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax For the existing Sphinx `.. note::`s, there isn't an exact equivalent until we switch to mkdocs (which has the `Admonition` extension), so I've left as reStructuredText and wrapped them with an `eval_rst` code block for now, rather than switching to HTML.
