With this change, the encryption key size is not assumed to be 16 if the
read_encryption_key_size command fails for any reason. This ensures
that if the controller fails the command for any reason that the
encryption key size isn't implicitely set to 16 and instead take a more
concervative posture to assume it is 0.

If Bluetooth fails to enter the suspended state correctly, restore the
state to running (re-enabling scans). PM_POST_SUSPEND is only sent to
notifiers that successfully return from PM_PREPARE_SUSPEND notification
so we should recover gracefully if it fails.

BlueZ cancels adv when starting a scan, but does not cancel a scan when
starting to adv. Neither is required, so this brings both to a
consistent state (of not affecting each other). Some very rare (I've
never seen one) BT 4.0 chips will fail to do both at once. Even this is
ok since the command that will fail will be the second one, and thus the
common sense logic of first-come-first-served is preserved for BLE
requests.

In bluetooth core specification 4.2,
Vol 2, Part E, 7.8.9 LE Set Advertise Enable Command, it says
The Controller shall continue advertising until ...
or until a connection is created or ...
In these cases, advertising is then disabled.
Hence, advertising would be disabled before a connection is
established. In current kernel implementation, advertising would
be re-enabled when all connections are terminated.
The correct disconnection flow looks like

> HCI Event: Command Status
Status: Success
> HCI Event: Disconnect Complete
Status: Success
Specifically, the last Disconnect Complete Event would trigger a
callback function hci_event.c:hci_disconn_complete_evt() to
cleanup the connection and re-enable advertising when proper.
However, sometimes, there might occur an exception in the controller
when disconnection is being executed. The disconnection flow might
then look like
< HCI Command: Disconnect
> HCI Event: Command Status
Status: Unknown Connection Identifier
Note that "> HCI Event: Disconnect Complete" is missing when such an
exception occurs. This would result in advertising staying disabled
forever since the connection in question is not cleaned up correctly.
To fix the controller exception issue, we need to do some connection
cleanup when the disconnect command status indicates an error.

To prevent spurious wake ups, we disable any discovery or advertising
when we enter suspend and restore it when we exit suspend. While paused,
we disable any management requests to modify discovery or advertising.

To handle BR/EDR devices, we first disable page scan and disconnect all

This adds the initial code for Enhanced Credit Based Mode which
introduces a new socket mode called L2CAP_MODE_EXT_FLOWCTL, which for
the most part work the same as L2CAP_MODE_LE_FLOWCTL but uses different
PDUs to setup the connections and also works over BR/EDR.

This change introduces a wide band speech setting which allows higher
level clients to query the local controller support for wide band speech
as well as set the setting state when the radio is powered off.
Internally, this setting controls if erroneous data reporting is enabled
on the controller.

When processing SCO packets, the handle is wrongly assumed as 16-bit

Extended advertising Data is set during bluetooth initialization
by default which causes InvalidHCICommandParameters when setting
Extended advertising parameters.
As per Core Spec 5.2 Vol 2, PART E, Sec 7.8.53, for
advertising_event_property LE_LEGACY_ADV_DIRECT_IND does not
supports advertising data when the advertising set already
contains some, the controller shall return erroc code
'InvalidHCICommandParameters(0x12).
So it is required to remove adv set for handle 0x00. since we use
instance 0 for directed adv.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:

struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

This reuse the L2CAP MTU auto logic to select the MTU used for RFCOMM
channels, this should increase the maximum from 1013 to 1021 when 3-DH5
is supported.
Since it does not set an L2CAP MTU we no longer need a debugfs so that
is removed.

Attack scenario:
1. A Chromebook (let's call this device A) is paired to a legitimate
Bluetooth classic device (e.g. a speaker) (let's call this device
B).
2. A malicious device (let's call this device C) pretends to be the
Bluetooth speaker by using the same BT address.
3. If device A is not currently connected to device B, device A will
be ready to accept connection from device B in the background
(technically, doing Page Scan).
4. Therefore, device C can initiate connection to device A
(because device A is doing Page Scan) and device A will accept the
connection because device A trusts device C's address which is the
same as device B's address.
5. Device C won't be able to communicate at any high level Bluetooth
profile with device A because device A enforces that device C is
encrypted with their common Link Key, which device C doesn't have.
But device C can initiate pairing with device A with just-works
model without requiring user interaction (there is only pairing
notification). After pairing, device A now trusts device C with a
new different link key, common between device A and C.
6. From now on, device A trusts device C, so device C can at anytime
connect to device A to do any kind of high-level hijacking, e.g.
speaker hijack or mouse/keyboard hijack.
Since we don't know whether the repairing is legitimate or not,
leave the decision to user space if all the conditions below are met.

- host already had the link key to the peer

There is no lock preventing both l2cap_sock_release() and
chan->ops->close() from running at the same time.
If we consider Thread A running l2cap_chan_timeout() and Thread B running
l2cap_sock_release(), expected behavior is:

In l2cap_sock_kill(), there is an "if-statement" that checks if both
sock_orphan() and sock_teardown() has been run i.e. sk->sk_socket is NULL
and socket is marked as SOCK_ZAPPED. Socket is killed if the condition is
satisfied.
In the race condition, following occurs:

Syzbot managed to trigger a use after free "KASAN: use-after-free Write
in hci_sock_bind". I have reviewed the code manually and one possibly
cause I have found is that we are not holding lock_sock(sk) when we do
the hci_dev_put(hdev) in hci_sock_release(). My theory is that the bind
and the release are racing against each other which results in this use
after free.

MGMT command is added to receive the list of blocked keys from
user-space.
The list is used to:
1) Block keys from being distributed by the device during
the ke distribution phase of SMP.
2) Filter out any keys that were previously saved so

This enables the code to set the input MTU using the underline link
packet types when set to 0, previously this would likely be rejected by
the remote peer since it would be bellow the minimal of 48 for BR/EDR
or 23 for LE, that way it shall be safe to use 0 without causing any
side effects.

As part of the cleanup of some remaining y2038 issues, I came to
fs/compat_ioctl.c, which still has a couple of commands that need support
for time64_t.
In completely unrelated work, I spent time on cleaning up parts of this
file in the past, moving things out into drivers instead.
After Al Viro reviewed an earlier version of this series and did a lot
more of that cleanup, I decided to try to completely eliminate the rest
of it and move it all into drivers.
This series incorporates some of Al's work and many patches of my own,
but in the end stops short of actually removing the last part, which is
the scsi ioctl handlers. I have patches for those as well, but they need
more testing or possibly a rewrite.

this file in the past, moving things out into drivers instead.
After Al Viro reviewed an earlier version of this series and did a lot
more of that cleanup, I decided to try to completely eliminate the
rest of it and move it all into drivers.
This series incorporates some of Al's work and many patches of my own,
but in the end stops short of actually removing the last part, which
is the scsi ioctl handlers. I have patches for those as well, but they
need more testing or possibly a rewrite"

In the implementation of hci_connect_le_scan() when conn is added via
hci_conn_add(), if hci_explicit_conn_params_set() fails the allocated
memory for conn is leaked. Use hci_conn_del() to release it.

When utilizing BDADDR_PROPERTY and INVALID_BDADDR quirks together it
results in an unconfigured controller even if the bootloader provides
a valid address. Fix this by allowing a bootloader provided address
to mark the controller as configured.

We used to take a lock in amp_physical_cfm() but then we moved it to
the caller function. Unfortunately the unlock on this error path was
overlooked so it leads to a double unlock.

The only slightly tricky merge conflict was the netdevsim because the
mutex locking fix overlapped a lot of driver reload reorganization.

When using LE Set Extended Advertising Enable command the duration
refers to the lifetime of instance not the length which is actually
controlled by the interval_min and interval_max when setting the
parameters.

Some interface types could be nested.
(VLAN, BONDING, TEAM, MACSEC, MACVLAN, IPVLAN, VIRT_WIFI, VXLAN, etc..)
These interface types should set lockdep class because, without lockdep
class key, lockdep always warn about unexisting circular locking.
In the current code, these interfaces have their own lockdep class keys and
these manage itself. So that there are so many duplicate code around the
/driver/net and /net/.
This patch adds new generic lockdep keys and some helper functions for it.
This patch does below changes.
a) Add lockdep class keys in struct net_device
- qdisc_running, xmit, addr_list, qdisc_busylock
- these keys are used as dynamic lockdep key.
b) When net_device is being allocated, lockdep keys are registered.
- alloc_netdev_mqs()
c) When net_device is being free'd llockdep keys are unregistered.
- free_netdev()
d) Add generic lockdep key helper function
- netdev_register_lockdep_key()
- netdev_unregister_lockdep_key()
- netdev_update_lockdep_key()
e) Remove unnecessary generic lockdep macro and functions
f) Remove unnecessary lockdep code of each interfaces.
After this patch, each interface modules don't need to maintain
their lockdep keys.

All these ioctl commands are compatible, so we can handle
them with a trivial wrapper in hci_sock.c and remove
the listing in fs/compat_ioctl.c.
A few of the commands pass integer arguments instead of
pointers, so for correctness skip the compat_ptr() conversion
here.

During the setup() stage, HCI device drivers expect the chip to
acknowledge its setup() completion via vendor specific frames.
If userspace opens() such HCI device in HCI_USER_CHANNEL [1] mode,
the vendor specific frames are never tranmitted to the driver, as
they are filtered in hci_rx_work().
Allow HCI devices which operate in HCI_USER_CHANNEL mode to receive
frames if the HCI device is is HCI_INIT state.

It appears that some Broadcom controllers (eg BCM20702A0) reject LE Set
Advertising Parameters command if advertising intervals provided are not
within range for undirected and low duty directed advertising.
Workaround this bug by populating min and max intervals with 'valid'
values.

It looks like in hci_init4_req() the request is being
initialised from cpu-endian data but the packet is specified
to be little-endian. This causes an warning from sparse due
to __le16 to u16 conversion.
Fix this by using cpu_to_le16() on the two fields in the packet.

hidp_send_message was changed to return non-zero values on success,
which some other bits did not expect. This caused spurious errors to be
propagated through the stack, breaking some drivers, such as hid-sony
for the Dualshock 4 in Bluetooth mode.
As pointed out by Dan Carpenter, hid-microsoft directly relied on that
assumption as well.

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding
the size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along
with memory for some number of elements for that array. For example:
struct mgmt_rp_get_connections {
...
struct mgmt_addr_info addr[0];
} __packed;
Make use of the struct_size() helper instead of an open-coded version
in order to avoid any potential type mistakes.
So, replace the following form:
sizeof(*rp) + (i * sizeof(struct mgmt_addr_info));
with:
struct_size(rp, addr, i)
Also, notice that, in this case, variable rp_len is not necessary,
hence it is removed.

Static variable header_ops, of type header_ops, is used only once, when
it is assigned to field header_ops of a variable having type net_device.
This corresponding field is declared as const in the definition of
net_device. Hence make header_ops constant as well to protect it from
unnecessary modification.

Changes made to add support for fast advertising interval
as per core 4.1 specification, section 9.3.11.2.
A peripheral device entering any of the following GAP modes and
sending either non-connectable advertising events or scannable
undirected advertising events should use adv_fast_interval2
(100ms - 150ms) for adv_fast_period(30s).

There are devices which require low connection intervals for usable operation
including keyboards and mice. Forcing a static connection interval for
these types of devices has an impact in latency and causes a regression.

For testing and qualification purposes it is useful to allow changing
the minimum encryption key size value that the host stack is going to
enforce. This adds a new debugfs setting min_encrypt_key_size to achieve
this functionality.

Let hidp_send_message return the number of successfully queued bytes
instead of an unconditional 0.
With the return value fixed to 0, other drivers relying on hidp, such as
hidraw, can not return meaningful values from their respective
implementations of write(). In particular, with the current behavior, a
hidraw device's write() will have different return values depending on
whether the device is connected via USB or Bluetooth, which makes it
harder to abstract away the transport layer.

The bluetooth code uses a bare AES cipher for the encryption operations.
Given that it carries out a set_key() operation right before every
encryption operation, this is clearly not a hot path, and so the use of
the cipher interface (which provides the best implementation available
on the system) is not really required.
In fact, when using a cipher like AES-NI or AES-CE, both the set_key()
and the encrypt() operations involve en/disabling preemption as well as
stacking and unstacking the SIMD context, and this is most certainly
not worth it for encrypting 16 bytes of data.
So let's switch to the new lightweight library interface instead.

BLE based 6LoWPAN networks are highly constrained in bandwidth.
Do not take a short-cut, always check if the destination address is
known to belong to a peer.
As a side-effect this also removes any behavioral differences between
one, and two or more connected peers.

Like any IPv6 capable device, 6LNs can have multiple addresses assigned
using SLAAC and made known through neighbour advertisements.
After checking the destination address against all peers link-local
addresses, consult the neighbour cache for additional known addresses.
RFC7668 defines the scope of Neighbor Advertisements in Section 3.2.3:
1. "A Bluetooth LE 6LN MUST NOT register its link-local address"
2. "A Bluetooth LE 6LN MUST register its non-link-local addresses with
the 6LBR by sending Neighbor Solicitation (NS) messages ..."
Due to these constranits both the link-local addresses tracked in the
list of 6lowpan peers, and the neighbour cache have to be used when
identifying the 6lowpan peer for a destination address.

Handle overlooked case where the target address is assigned to a peer
and neither route nor gateway exist.
For one peer, no checks are performed to see if it is meant to receive
packets for a given address.
As soon as there is a second peer however, checks are performed
to deal with routes and gateways for handling complex setups with
multiple hops to a target address.
This logic assumed that no route and no gateway imply that the
destination address can not be reached, which is false in case of a
direct peer.

Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse provides bogus identity address when
pairing. It connects with Static Random address but provides Public
Address in SMP Identity Address Information PDU. Address has same
value but type is different. Workaround this by dropping IRK if ID

Problem: The Linux Bluetooth stack yields complete control over the BLE
connection interval to the remote device.
The Linux Bluetooth stack provides access to the BLE connection interval
min and max values through /sys/kernel/debug/bluetooth/hci0/
conn_min_interval and /sys/kernel/debug/bluetooth/hci0/conn_max_interval.
These values are used for initial BLE connections, but the remote device
has the ability to request a connection parameter update. In the event
that the remote side requests to change the connection interval, the Linux
kernel currently only validates that the desired value is within the
acceptable range in the Bluetooth specification (6 - 3200, corresponding to
7.5ms - 4000ms). There is currently no validation that the desired value
requested by the remote device is within the min/max limits specified in
the conn_min_interval/conn_max_interval configurations. This essentially
leads to Linux yielding complete control over the connection interval to
the remote device.
The proposed patch adds a verification step to the connection parameter
update mechanism, ensuring that the desired value is within the min/max
bounds of the current connection. If the desired value is outside of the
current connection min/max values, then the connection parameter update
request is rejected and the negative response is returned to the remote
device. Recall that the initial connection is established using the local
conn_min_interval/conn_max_interval values, so this allows the Linux
administrator to retain control over the BLE connection interval.
The one downside that I see is that the current default Linux values for
conn_min_interval and conn_max_interval typically correspond to 30ms and
50ms respectively. If this change were accepted, then it is feasible that
some devices would no longer be able to negotiate to their desired
connection interval values. This might be remedied by setting the default
Linux conn_min_interval and conn_max_interval values to the widest
supported range (6 - 3200 / 7.5ms - 4000ms). This could lead to the same
behavior as the current implementation, where the remote device could
request to change the connection interval value to any value that is
permitted by the Bluetooth specification, and Linux would accept the
desired value.

This change is similar to commit a1616a5ac9 ("Bluetooth: hidp: fix
buffer overflow") but for the compat ioctl. We take a string from the
user and forgot to ensure that it's NUL terminated.
I have also changed the strncpy() in to strscpy() in hidp_setup_hid().
The difference is the strncpy() doesn't necessarily NUL terminate the
destination string. Either change would fix the problem but it's nice
to take a belt and suspenders approach and do both.

Fix minimum encryption key size check so that HCI_MIN_ENC_KEY_SIZE is
also allowed as stated in the comment.
This bug caused connection problems with devices having maximum
encryption key size of 7 octets (56-bit).

When trying to align the minimum encryption key size requirement for
Bluetooth connections, it turns out doing this in a central location in
the HCI connection handling code is not possible.
Original Bluetooth version up to 2.0 used a security model where the
L2CAP service would enforce authentication and encryption. Starting
with Bluetooth 2.1 and Secure Simple Pairing that model has changed into
that the connection initiator is responsible for providing an encrypted
ACL link before any L2CAP communication can happen.
Now connecting Bluetooth 2.1 or later devices with Bluetooth 2.0 and
before devices are causing a regression. The encryption key size check
needs to be moved out of the HCI connection handling into the L2CAP
channel setup.
To achieve this, the current check inside hci_conn_security() has been
moved into l2cap_check_enc_key_size() helper function and then called
from four decisions point inside L2CAP to cover all combinations of
Secure Simple Pairing enabled devices and device using legacy pairing
and legacy service security model.

This commit makes the kernel not send the next queued HCI command until
a command complete arrives for the last HCI command sent to the
controller. This change avoids a problem with some buggy controllers
(seen on two SKUs of QCA9377) that send an extra command complete event
for the previous command after the kernel had already sent a new HCI
command to the controller.
The problem was reproduced when starting an active scanning procedure,
where an extra command complete event arrives for the LE_SET_RANDOM_ADDR
command. When this happends the kernel ends up not processing the
command complete for the following commmand, LE_SET_SCAN_PARAM, and
ultimately behaving as if a passive scanning procedure was being
performed, when in fact controller is performing an active scanning
procedure. This makes it impossible to discover BLE devices as no device
found events are sent to userspace.
This problem is reproducible on 100% of the attempts on the affected
controllers. The extra command complete event can be seen at timestamp
27.420131 on the btmon logs bellow.

The flags field in 'struct shash_desc' never actually does anything.
The only ostensibly supported flag is CRYPTO_TFM_REQ_MAY_SLEEP.
However, no shash algorithm ever sleeps, making this flag a no-op.
With this being the case, inevitably some users who can't sleep wrongly
pass MAY_SLEEP. These would all need to be fixed if any shash algorithm
actually started sleeping. For example, the shash_ahash_*() functions,
which wrap a shash algorithm with the ahash API, pass through MAY_SLEEP
from the ahash API to the shash API. However, the shash functions are
called under kmap_atomic(), so actually they're assumed to never sleep.
Even if it turns out that some users do need preemption points while
hashing large buffers, we could easily provide a helper function
crypto_shash_update_large() which divides the data into smaller chunks
and calls crypto_shash_update() and cond_resched() for each chunk. It's
not necessary to have a flag in 'struct shash_desc', nor is it necessary
to make individual shash algorithms aware of this at all.
Therefore, remove shash_desc::flags, and document that the
crypto_shash_*() functions can be called from any context.

When flag HCI_QUIRK_USE_BDADDR_PROPERTY is set, we will read the
bluetooth address from dts. If the bluetooth address node is missing
from the dts we will enable it controller UNCONFIGURED state.
This patch enables the normal flow even if the BD address is missing
from the dts tree.

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding
the size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along
with memory for some number of elements for that array. For example:

Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can
now use the new struct_size() helper:

Struct ca is copied from userspace. It is not checked whether the "name"
field is NULL terminated, which allows local users to obtain potentially
sensitive information from kernel stack memory, via a HIDPCONNADD command.
This vulnerability is similar to CVE-2011-1079.

l2cap_le_flowctl_init was reseting the tx_credits which works only for
outgoing connection since that set the tx_credits on the response, for
incoming connections that was not the case which leaves the channel
without any credits causing it to be suspended.

The SIOCGSTAMP/SIOCGSTAMPNS ioctl commands are implemented by many
socket protocol handlers, and all of those end up calling the same
sock_get_timestamp()/sock_get_timestampns() helper functions, which
results in a lot of duplicate code.
With the introduction of 64-bit time_t on 32-bit architectures, this
gets worse, as we then need four different ioctl commands in each
socket protocol implementation.
To simplify that, let's add a new .gettstamp() operation in
struct proto_ops, and move ioctl implementation into the common
sock_ioctl()/compat_sock_ioctl_trans() functions that these all go
through.
We can reuse the sock_get_timestamp() implementation, but generalize
it so it can deal with both native and compat mode, as well as
timeval and timespec structures.

Add HCI_QUIRK_USE_BDADDR_PROPERTY to allow controllers to retrieve
the public Bluetooth address from the firmware node property
'local-bd-address'. If quirk is set and the property does not exist
or is invalid the controller is marked as unconfigured.

in order to avoid any potential type mistakes, in particular in the
context in which this code is being used.
So, change the following form:
sizeof(*rp) + (sizeof(rp->entry[0]) * count);

Notice that, in this case, variable rp_len is not necessary, hence
it is removed.

When releasing socket, it is possible to enter hci_sock_release() and
hci_sock_dev_event(HCI_DEV_UNREG) at the same time in different thread.
The reference count of hdev should be decremented only once from one of
them but if storing hdev to local variable in hci_sock_release() before
detached from socket and setting to NULL in hci_sock_dev_event(),
hci_dev_put(hdev) is unexpectedly called twice. This is resolved by
referencing hdev from socket after bt_sock_unlink() in
hci_sock_release().

As part of y2038 solution, all internal uses of
struct timeval are replaced by struct __kernel_old_timeval
and struct compat_timeval by struct old_timeval32.
Make socket timestamps use these new types.
This is mainly to be able to verify that the kernel build
is y2038 safe when such non y2038 safe types are not
supported anymore.

The function l2cap_get_conf_opt will return L2CAP_CONF_OPT_SIZE + opt->len
as length value. The opt->len however is in control over the remote user
and can be used by an attacker to gain access beyond the bounds of the
actual packet.
To prevent any potential leak of heap memory, it is enough to check that
the resulting len calculation after calling l2cap_get_conf_opt is not
below zero. A well formed packet will always return >= 0 here and will
end with the length value being zero after the last option has been
parsed. In case of malformed packets messing with the opt->len field the
length value will become negative. If that is the case, then just abort
and ignore the option.
In case an attacker uses a too short opt->len value, then garbage will
be parsed, but that is protected by the unknown option handling and also
the option parameter size checks.

When doing option parsing for standard type values of 1, 2 or 4 octets,
the value is converted directly into a variable instead of a pointer. To
avoid being tricked into being a pointer, check that for these option
types that sizes actually match. In L2CAP every option is fixed size and
thus it is prudent anyway to ensure that the remote side sends us the
right option size along with option paramters.
If the option size is not matching the option type, then that option is
silently ignored. It is a protocol violation and instead of trying to
give the remote attacker any further hints just pretend that option is
not present and proceed with the default values. Implementation
following the specification and its qualification procedures will always
use the correct size and thus not being impacted here.
To keep the code readable and consistent accross all options, a few
cosmetic changes were also required.

atomically") lock_sock[_nested]() is used to acquire the socket lock
before manipulating the socket. lock_sock[_nested]() may block, which

parent is NULL, hence bt_accept_enqueue() isn't called in this

In case a command which completes in Command Status was sent using the
hci_cmd_send-family of APIs there would be a misleading error in the
hci_get_cmd_complete function, since the code would be trying to fetch
the Command Complete parameters when there are none.
Avoid the misleading error and silently bail out from the function in
case the received event is a command status.

In order to pass extack together with NETDEV_PRE_UP notifications, it's
necessary to route the extack to __dev_open() from diverse (possibly
indirect) callers. One prominent API through which the notification is
invoked is dev_open().
Therefore extend dev_open() with and extra extack argument and update
all users. Most of the calls end up just encoding NULL, but bond and
team drivers have the extack readily available.

in the mask to crypto_alloc_shash() has no effect. Many users therefore
already don't pass it, but some still do. This inconsistency can cause
confusion, especially since the way the 'mask' argument works is
somewhat counterintuitive.
Thus, just remove the unneeded CRYPTO_ALG_ASYNC flags.
This patch shouldn't change any actual behavior.

In the iov_iter struct, separate the iterator type from the iterator
direction and use accessor functions to access them in most places.
Convert a bunch of places to use switch-statements to access them rather
then chains of bitwise-AND statements. This makes it easier to add further
iterator types. Also, this can be more efficient as to implement a switch
of small contiguous integers, the compiler can use ~50% fewer compare
instructions than it has to use bitwise-and instructions.
Further, cease passing the iterator type into the iterator setup function.
The iterator function can set that itself. Only the direction is required.

The check on status is redundant as a status has to be zero at
the point it is being checked because of a previous check and return
path via label 'unlock'. Remove the redundant check and the deadcode
that can never be reached.

Once upon a time a bunch of serial drivers used to provide that;
today it's only amiserial and it's FUBAR - the structure being
copied to userland includes kernel pointers, fields with
config-dependent size, etc. No userland code using it could
possibly survive - e.g. enabling lockdep definitely changes the
layout. Besides, it's a massive infoleak.
Kill it. If somebody needs that data for debugging purposes, they
can bloody well expose it saner ways. Assuming anyone does debugging
of amiserial in the first place, that is.

If the remote is not able to fully utilize the MPS choosen recalculate
the credits based on the actual amount it is sending that way it can
still send packets of MTU size without credits dropping to 0.

Give enough rx credits for a full packet instead of using an arbitrary
number which may not be enough depending on the MTU and MPS which can
cause interruptions while waiting for more credits, also remove
debugfs entry for l2cap_le_max_credits.
With these changes the credits are restored after each SDU is received
instead of using fixed threshold, this way it is garanteed that there
will always be enough credits to send a packet without waiting more
credits to arrive.

This ensures the MPS can fit in a single HCI fragment so each
segment don't have to be reassembled at HCI level, in addition to
that also remove the debugfs entry to configure the MPS.

Add the definitions for adding entries to the LE resolve list and
removing entries from the LE resolve list. When the LE resolve list
gets changed via HCI commands make sure that the internal storage of
the resolve list entries gets updated.

already provide us with the required synchronization: remove them
and document that we're relying on the (implicit) synchronization
provided by wait_woken() and woken_wake_function().

A remote device may claim that it has received our OOB data, even
though we never geneated it. Add a new flag to track whether we
actually have OOB data, and ignore the remote peer's flag if haven't
generated OOB data.

CVE-2018-9363
The buffer length is unsigned at all layers, but gets cast to int and
checked in hidp_process_report and can lead to a buffer overflow.
Switch len parameter to unsigned int to resolve issue.
This affects 3.18 and newer kernels.

This event comes after connection complete event for incoming
connections. Since we now have different random address for
each instance, conn resp address is assigned from this event.
As of now only connection part is handled as we are not
enabling duration or max num of events while starting ext adv.

This basically sets the random address for the adv instance
Random address can be set only if the instance is created which
is done in Set ext adv param.
Random address and rpa expire timer and flags have been added
to adv instance which will be used when the respective
instance is scheduled.
This introduces a hci_get_random_address() which returns the
own address type and random address (rpa or nrpa) based
on the instance flags and hdev flags. New function is required
since own address type should be known before setting adv params
but address can be set only after setting params.

This patch basically replaces legacy adv with extended adv
based on the controller support. Currently there is no
design change. ie only one adv set will be enabled at a time.
This also adds tx_power in instance and store whatever returns
from Set_ext_parameter, use the same in adv data as well.
For instance 0 tx_power is stored in hdev only.

This patch enables Extended ADV report event if extended scanning
is supported in the controller and process the same.
The new features are not handled and for now its as good as
legacy ADV report.

This implements Set extended scan param and set extended scan enable
commands and use it for start LE scan based on controller support.
The new features added in these commands are setting of new PHY for
scanning and setting of scan duration. Both features are disabled
for now, meaning only 1M PHY is set and scan duration is set to 0
which means that scanning will be done untill scan disable is called.

Introduce a helper hci_req_start_scan() which starts an LE
scan and call it from passive_Scan() and active_scan().
There is not functionality change in this patch.
This is basically done to enable extended scanning if the
controller supports which will be done in the subsequent
patch

Given that activating a trigger can fail, let the callback return an
indication. This prevents to have a trigger active according to the
"trigger" sysfs attribute but not functional.
All users are changed accordingly to return 0 for now. There is no intended
change in behaviour.

The poll() changes were not well thought out, and completely
unexplained. They also caused a huge performance regression, because
"->poll()" was no longer a trivial file operation that just called down
to the underlying file operations, but instead did at least two indirect
calls.
Indirect calls are sadly slow now with the Spectre mitigation, but the
performance problem could at least be largely mitigated by changing the
"->get_poll_head()" operation to just have a per-file-descriptor pointer
to the poll head instead. That gets rid of one of the new indirections.
But that doesn't fix the new complexity that is completely unwarranted
for the regular case. The (undocumented) reason for the poll() changes
was some alleged AIO poll race fixing, but we don't make the common case
slower and more complex for some uncommon special case, so this all
really needs way more explanations and most likely a fundamental
redesign.
