Masahiro Yamada 10e5e6c249 usb: gadget: move choice ... endchoice to legacy/Kconfig
drivers/usb/gadget/Kconfig includes drivers/usb/gadget/legacy/Kconfig
inside the 'choice' block. The current Kconfig allows this, but I'd
like to discourage this usage.

People tend to mess up the structure without noticing that entire
drivers/usb/gadget/legacy/Kconfig is placed in the choice context.
In fact, legacy/Kconfig mixes up bool and tristate in the choice,
and creates nested choice, etc.

This commit does not change the behavior, but it will help people
notice how badly this Kconfig file is written.

Felipe Balbi 9dbe416b65 Revert "usb: gadget: allow to enable legacy drivers without USB_ETH"
This reverts commit 7a9618a22a.

Romain Izard recently reported that commit 7a9618a22a ended up
allowing every legacy gadget driver to statically linked to the
kernel, however that doesn't work, since only one legacy gadget can be
bound to a controller. Because of that, let's revert the original commit
and fix the problem.

Ruslan Bilovol 0591bc2360 usb: gadget: add f_uac1 variant based on a new u_audio api
This patch adds a new function 'f_uac1'
(f_uac1 with virtual "ALSA card") that
uses recently created u_audio API. Comparing
to legacy f_uac1 function implementation it
doesn't require any real Audio codec to be
present on the device. In f_uac1 audio
streams are simply sinked to and sourced
from a virtual ALSA sound card created
using u_audio API.

Legacy f_uac1 approach is to write audio
samples directly to existing ALSA sound
card

f_uac1 approach is more generic/flexible
one - create an ALSA sound card that
represents USB Audio function and allows to
be used by userspace application that
may choose to do whatever it wants with the
data received from the USB Host and choose
to provide whatever it wants as audio data
to the USB Host.

f_uac1 also has capture support (gadget->host)
thanks to easy implementation via u_audio.
By default, capture interface has 48000kHz/2ch
configuration, same as playback channel has.

f_uac1 descriptors naming convention
uses f_uac2 driver naming convention that
makes it more common and meaningful.

Comparing to f_uac1_legacy, the f_uac1 doesn't
have volume/mute functionality. This is because
the f_uac1 volume/mute feature unit was dummy
implementation since that driver creation (2009)
and never had any real volume control or mute
functionality, so there is no any difference
here.

Since f_uac1 functionality, exposed
interface to userspace (virtual ALSA card),
input parameters are so different comparing
to f_uac1_legacy, that there is no any
reason to keep them in the same file/module,
and separate function was created.

g_audio can be built using one of existing
UAC functions (f_uac1, f_uac1_legacy or f_uac2)

Romain Izard bc27f66e06 usb: gadget: reword configuration choices
As USB_CONFIGFS is not a part of the "USB Gadget Drivers" choice
anymore, the name for the option and its attached description needs to
be more descriptive. It appears one level higher in the configuration
menu, and without the context provided by the comments for the choice
entry, it needs to make sense on its own.

Conversely, the "USB Gadget Drivers" entry now only introduces the
legacy drivers, where one or more functions are combined in a single
driver. As the configfs option can be used as a full-fledged
alternative, rename the choice entry to show that it is not the only
way to provice service as an USB gadget.

With commit bc49d1d17d ("usb: gadget: don't couple configfs to legacy

configfs support and modular legacy gadget drivers.

But when building a kernel without modules, it is also necessary to be
able to build with configfs but without any legacy gadget driver. This
was a possible configuration when the USB_CONFIGFS was a part of the
choice options, but not anymore.

Mark the choice for legacy gadget drivers as optional restores this.

Arnd Bergmann e6be244a83 usb: gadget: uvc: add V4L2 dependency
Building the UVC gadget into the kernel fails to build when
CONFIG_VIDEO_V4L2 is a loadable module:

drivers/usb/gadget/function/usb_f_uvc.o: In function `uvc_function_ep0_complete':

Adding a dependency in USB_CONFIGFS_F_UVC (which is a bool symbol)
make the 'select USB_F_UVC' statement turn the USB_F_UVC into 'm'

With a default size of 16kiB and with maximum of 32

Because of this, 1MiB block transfers end up being

Arnd Bergmann badf6d47f8 usb: common: rework CONFIG_USB_COMMON logic
The phy-am335x driver selects 'USB_COMMON', but all other drivers
use 'depends on' for that symbol, and it depends on USB || USB_GADGET
itself, which causes a Kconfig warning:

warning: (AM335X_PHY_USB) selects USB_COMMON which has unmet direct dependencies (USB_SUPPORT && (USB || USB_GADGET))

As suggested by Felipe Balbi, this turns the logic around, and makes
'USB_COMMON' selected by everything else that needs it, so we can

Converting uac1 to the new function interface requires converting
the USB uac1's function code and its users.

This patch converts the f_uac1.c to the new function interface.

The file is now compiled into a separate usb_f_uac1.ko module.

The old function interface is provided by means of a preprocessor
conditional directives. After all users are converted, the old interface
can be removed.

Ricardo Ribalda Delgado adc82f77be usb: gadget: net2280: Add support for PLX USB338X
This patch adds support for the PLX USB3380 and USB3382.

This driver is based on the driver from the manufacturer.

Since USB338X is register compatible with NET2280, I thought that it
would be better to include this hardware into net2280 driver.

Manufacturer's driver only supported the USB33X, did not follow the
Kernel Style and contain some trivial errors. This patch has tried to
address this issues.

This patch has only been tested on USB338x hardware, but the merge has
been done trying to not affect the behaviour of NET2280.

Arnd Bergmann 38e0c10940 usb: ohci: sort out dependencies for lpc32xx and omap
The dependency on the isp1301 driver is not something that
should be in the main OHCI driver but rather the SoC specific
part of it.

This moves the dependency for LPC32xx into USB_OHCI_HCD_LPC32XX,
and changes the 'select ISP1301_OMAP' to a similar 'depends on'.
Since the same dependency exists for the client driver, do the
same change there.

Dinh Nguyen 47a1685f13 usb: dwc2/s3c-hsotg: move s3c-hsotg into dwc2 directory
Moves the s3c-hsotg driver into the dwc2 directory and uses the
dwc2 defines in hw.h. Renames s3c-hsotg.c to gadget.c.

NOTE: You can build both host and peripheral as a dynamically
linked module, but be aware that if you insmod dwc2_gadget, then
rmmod it, then insmod dwc2 and dwc2_platform for host mode, this
will not work. As the step to rmmod dwc2_gadget.ko will turn off
the clock to the USB IP. The dwc2 host driver currently does not
look to turn on a clock yet. A patch to fix that will be coming
soon.

Matt Porter 1a7ed5bec4 usb: gadget: s3c-hsotg: fix build on x86 and other architectures
The readsl and writesl I/O accessors are only defined on some
architectures. The driver currently depends on CONFIG_ARM because
the build breaks on x86, in particular. Switch to use of ioread32_rep
and iowrite32_rep to fix build on all architectures and remove the
CONFIG_ARM dependency.

Also update printk formatting to handle a long long dma_addr_t to avoid
warnings on !32-bit architectures.
