driver since v3.6-rcX. This series flips Tegra's defconfig to enable

Arnd Bergmann f25d696aed ARM: imx: use __iomem pointers for MMIO
ARM is moving to stricter checks on readl/write functions,
so we need to use the correct types everywhere.

This found a bug in mach-armadillo5x0.c, where we attempt mmio
on the MXC_CCM_RCSR address that is currently defined to 0xc
and consequently causes an illegal address access.

Huang Shijie cc7887c3b1 ARM: imx6q: use pll2_pfd2_396m as the enfc_sel's parent
The gpmi-nand driver can support the ONFI nand chip's EDO (extra data out)
mode in the asynchrounous mode. In the asynchrounous mode 5, the gpmi
needs 100MHz clock for the IO. But with the pll2_pfd0_352m, we can not
get the 100MHz clock.

So choose pll2_pfd2_396m as enfc_sel's parent.

Sascha Hauer 42a3f891ca ARM i.MX25: Make timer irq work again
Since i.MX has SPARSE_IRQ enabled the i.MX25 timer is broken. This
is because the internal irqs now start at an offset of NR_IRQS_LEGACY.
The patch fixed this up, but missed the i.MX25 timer which used a
hardcoded value instead of a define. This patch introduces a define
for the timer irq and uses it.

This is broken since introduced with 3.6-rc1:

Rob Herring 360a0cab50 ARM: move all dtb targets out of Makefile.boot
In preparation to support multi-platform kernels, move all the dtb targets
out of the mach Makefile.boot and into the arch/arm/boot/dts/Makefile
which is closer to the sources.

DTBs are only built when CONFIG_OF is enabled and now use top level
CONFIG_ARCH_xxx instead of chip or board specific config options.

Shawn Guo 0e87e0436c ARM: imx6q: replace clk_register_clkdev with clock DT lookup
It really becomes an maintenance issue that every time a device needs
to look up (clk_get) a clock we have to patch kernel clock file to call
clk_register_clkdev for that clock.

Since clock DT support which is meant to resolve clock lookup in device
tree is in place, the patch moves imx6q client devices' clock lookup
over to device tree, so that any new lookup to be added at later time
can just get done in DT instead of kernel.

Arnd Bergmann 1fc593feaf ARM: imx: build i.MX6 functions only when needed
The head-v7.S contains a call to the generic cpu_suspend function,
which is only available when selected by the i.MX6 code. As
pointed out by Shawn Guo, i.MX5 does not actually use any
functions defined in head-v7.S. It is also needed only for
the i.MX6 power management code and for the SMP code, so
we can restrict building this file to situations in which
at least one of those two is present.

Finally, other platforms with a similar file call it headsmp.S,
so we can rename it to the same for consistency.

Without this patch, building imx5 standalone results in:

The ksz9021rn_phy_fixup and mx6q_sabrelite functions try to
set up an ethernet phy if they can. They do check whether
phylib is enabled, but unfortunately the functions can only
be called from platform code if phylib is builtin, not
if it is a module

Without this patch, building with a modular phylib results in:

Shawn Guo c944b0b935 ARM: imx6: spin the cpu until hardware takes it down
Though commit 602bf40 (ARM: imx6: exit coherency when shutting down
a cpu) improves the stability of imx6q cpu hotplug a lot, there are
still hangs seen with a more stressful hotplug testing.

It's expected that once imx_enable_cpu(cpu, false) is called, the cpu
will be taken down by hardware immediately, and the code after that
will not get any chance to execute. However, this is not always the
case from the testing. The cpu could possibly be alive for a few
cycles before hardware actually takes it down. So rather than letting
cpu execute some code that could cause a hang in these cycles, let's
make the cpu spin there and wait for hardware to take it down.

Philipp Zabel 16339464c5 ARM i.MX6q: Add virtual 1/3.5 dividers in the LDB clock path
The ldb_di[01]_podf is implemented as a clk-divider that
divides by 1 or 2. In reality, the ldb_di[01]_ipu_div
dividers divide by either 3.5 or 7. Adding a fixed factor
of 1/3.5 fixes their children's clock rates.

This should probably be converted to rate table based dividers,
once available.

Shawn Guo 68b0562df9 ARM: imx: enable emi_slow_gate clock for imx5
The imx5 common clock migration causes a regression with smsc911x
driver on imx53-ard board, where a smsc lan9220 controller gets
connected on imx53 with EIM interface. EIM needs clock emi_slow_gate
to be functional. In the new imx5 clock driver, there is no use count
incremented for the clock by enabling it, so the framework closes the
clock at late init time and makes EIM stop working then.

Enable emi_slow_gate in clock driver initialization to fix the
regression.

Linus Torvalds 4f2d658b2f arm-soc: device tree description updates
This branch contains two kinds of updates: Some platforms in the process
of getting converted to device tree based booting, and the platform
specific patches necessary for that are included here. Other platforms
are already converted, so we just need to update the actual device
tree source files and the binding documents to add support for new board
 and new drivers.
In the future we will probably separate those into two branches, and
in the long run, the plan is to move the device tree source files out
of the kernel repository, but that has to wait until we have completed
a much larger portion of the binding documents.

Merge tag 'dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc

Pull arm-soc device tree description updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This branch contains two kinds of updates: Some platforms in the
process of getting converted to device tree based booting, and the
platform specific patches necessary for that are included here.

Other platforms are already converted, so we just need to update the
actual device tree source files and the binding documents to add
support for new board and new drivers.

In the future we will probably separate those into two branches, and
in the long run, the plan is to move the device tree source files out
of the kernel repository, but that has to wait until we have completed
a much larger portion of the binding documents."

Fix up trivial conflicts in arch/arm/mach-imx/clk-imx6q.c due to newly
added clkdev registers next to a few removed unnecessary ones.

Commit

544496a (ARM: imx: move irq_domain_add_legacy call into avic driver)

introduced unconditional calls to irq_find_mapping and
irq_domain_add_legacy, but it's still possible to have a .config without
CONFIG_IRQ_DOMAIN=y resulting in

	  CC arch/arm/plat-mxc/avic.o

While selecting CONFIG_IRQ_DOMAIN would be enough, USE_OF is the future
and implies CONFIG_IRQ_DOMAIN. So select USE_OF for ARCH_MXC and drop
other explicit selects that are superflous now.

Shawn Guo 602bf40971 ARM: imx6: exit coherency when shutting down a cpu
There is a system hang issue on imx6q which can easily be seen with
running a cpu hotplug stress testing (hotplug secondary cores from
user space via sysfs interface for thousands iterations).

It turns out that the issue is caused by coherency of the cpu that
is being shut down. When shutting down a cpu, we need to have the
cpu exit coherency to prevent it from receiving cache, TLB, or BTB
maintenance operations broadcast by other CPUs in the cluster.

Copy cpu_enter_lowpower() and cpu_leave_lowpower() from mach-vexpress
to have coherency properly handled in platform_cpu_die(), thus fix
the issue.

Robert Lee 565fa91f23 ARM: imx: clean and consolidate imx5 suspend and idle code
The imx5 idle code that existed in mm-imx5.c is moved to pm-imx5.c.
The imx5_pm_init call is now exported and called during the
MACHINE_START late_init in supported imx5 platforms.

Remove various enabling/disabling of the gpc_dvfs clock and
enable it once during initialization. This is a very low
power clock that must be enabled during low power operations.

There are only two "suspend_state_t" imx5 low power modes ever
used. STOP_POWER_OFF for suspend to mem and
WAIT_UNCLOCKED_POWER_OFF for idle and suspend to standby. The
latter mode only requires 500 nanoseconds of extra hardware
exit time beyond a basic WFI operation (WAIT_CLOCKED mode) so
no other idle mode is necessary. Given this information, it
is more efficient to keep the registers in the often used
WAIT_UNCLOCKED_POWER_OFF state and only to and from the
STOP_POWER_OFF register state as needed when suspend to
mem is required.

Sascha Hauer 9ca41bccc3 ARM i.MX pllv2: make round_rate accurate
in round_rate we made the assumption that we can set arbitrary
frequencies and thus returned the input rate. This is not correct,
for certain frequencies after setting a frequency with set_rate,
recalc_rate will return different values. To fix this, introduce
set_rate/recalc_rate functions which work on variables instead
of registers directly. This way we can call these in round_rate
to get the exact rate which we would get if we call set_rate
with this value.

Sascha Hauer 6cc90d6de1 ARM i.MX pllv2: use standard register set unconditionally
The i.MX5 PLL has two different register sets for setting the
rate. One is used for the standard case and and is used for
DVFS. Which one of them is used depends on a hardware input
of the PLL. Current implementation reads back from the hardware
which setting is used. This is bogus: If we ever want to implement
DVFS we have to program both register sets and not only the one
which happens to be used at the moment. For now, just use the
standard register set uncondionally.

Linus Torvalds f465d145d7 arm-soc: sweeping late_initcall cleanup
This is a patch series from Shawn Guo that moves from individual
late_initcalls() to using a member in the machine structure to invoke
 a platform's late initcalls.

This cleanup is a step in the move towards multiplatform kernels since
it would reduce the need to check for compatible platforms in each and
 every initcall.

Linus Torvalds 2e341ca686 Sound updates for 3.5-rc1
This is the first big chunk for 3.5 merges of sound stuff.
There are a few big changes in different areas. First off, the
streaming logic of USB-audio endpoints has been largely rewritten
for the better support of "implicit feedback". If anything about USB
got broken, this change has to be checked.

For HD-audio, the resume procedure was changed; instead of delaying
the resume of the hardware until the first use, now waking up immediately
at resume. This is for buggy BIOS.

For ASoC, dynamic PCM support and the improved support for digital links
between off-SoC devices are major framework changes.

 Some highlights are below:

 * HD-audio
 - Avoid the accesses of invalid pin-control bits that may stall the codec
 - V-ref setup cleanups
 - Fix the races in power-saving code
 - Fix the races in codec cache hashes and connection lists
 - Split some common codes for BIOS auto-parser to hda_auto_parser.c
 - Changed the PM resume code to wake up immediately for buggy BIOS
 - Creative SoundCore3D support
 - Add Conexant CX20751/2/3/4 codec support

 * ASoC
 - Dynamic PCM support, allowing support for SoCs with internal routing
through components with tight sequencing and formatting constraints
within their internal paths or where there are multiple components
connected with CPU managed DMA controllers inside the SoC.
 - Greatly improved support for direct digital links between off-SoC
devices, providing a much simpler way of connecting things like digital
   basebands to CODECs.
 - Much more fine grained and robust locking, cleaning up some of the
confusion that crept in with multi-component.
 - CPU support for nVidia Tegra 30 I2S and audio hub controllers and
   ST-Ericsson MSP I2S controolers
 - New CODEC drivers for Cirrus CS42L52, LAPIS Semiconductor ML26124, Texas
   Instruments LM49453.
 - Some regmap changes needed by the Tegra I2S driver.
 - mc13783 audio support.

 * Misc
 - Rewrite with module_pci_driver()
 - Xonar DGX support for snd-oxygen
 - Improvement of packet handling in snd-firewire driver
 - New USB-endpoint streaming logic
 - Enhanced M-audio FTU quirks and relevant cleanups
 - Increment the support of OSS devices to 256
 - snd-aloop accuracy improvement

There are a few more pending changes for 3.5, but they will be
sent slightly later as partly depending on the changes of DRM.

Merge tag 'sound-3.5' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound

Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai:
"This is the first big chunk for 3.5 merges of sound stuff.

There are a few big changes in different areas. First off, the
streaming logic of USB-audio endpoints has been largely rewritten for
the better support of "implicit feedback". If anything about USB got
broken, this change has to be checked.

For HD-audio, the resume procedure was changed; instead of delaying
the resume of the hardware until the first use, now waking up
immediately at resume. This is for buggy BIOS.

For ASoC, dynamic PCM support and the improved support for digital
links between off-SoC devices are major framework changes.

  Some highlights are below:

  * HD-audio
   - Avoid accesses of invalid pin-control bits that may stall the codec
   - V-ref setup cleanups
   - Fix the races in power-saving code
   - Fix the races in codec cache hashes and connection lists
   - Split some common codes for BIOS auto-parser to hda_auto_parser.c
   - Changed the PM resume code to wake up immediately for buggy BIOS
   - Creative SoundCore3D support
   - Add Conexant CX20751/2/3/4 codec support

  * ASoC
   - Dynamic PCM support, allowing support for SoCs with internal
routing through components with tight sequencing and formatting
constraints within their internal paths or where there are multiple
components connected with CPU managed DMA controllers inside the
     SoC.
   - Greatly improved support for direct digital links between off-SoC
devices, providing a much simpler way of connecting things like
     digital basebands to CODECs.
   - Much more fine grained and robust locking, cleaning up some of the
confusion that crept in with multi-component.
   - CPU support for nVidia Tegra 30 I2S and audio hub controllers and
     ST-Ericsson MSP I2S controolers
   - New CODEC drivers for Cirrus CS42L52, LAPIS Semiconductor ML26124,
     Texas Instruments LM49453.
   - Some regmap changes needed by the Tegra I2S driver.
   - mc13783 audio support.

  * Misc
   - Rewrite with module_pci_driver()
   - Xonar DGX support for snd-oxygen
   - Improvement of packet handling in snd-firewire driver
   - New USB-endpoint streaming logic
   - Enhanced M-audio FTU quirks and relevant cleanups
   - Increment the support of OSS devices to 256
   - snd-aloop accuracy improvement

There are a few more pending changes for 3.5, but they will be sent
slightly later as partly depending on the changes of DRM."

Fix up conflicts in regmap (due to duplicate patches, with some further
updates then having already come in from the regmap tree). Also some
fairly trivial context conflicts in the imx and mcx soc drivers.

Linus Torvalds f6a26ae769 arm-soc: board specific changes
While we generally attempt to get rid of board specific files and replace
them with device tree based descriptions, a lot of platforms have not
 come that far:

In shmobile, we add two new board files because their recently started
effort to add DT support has not proceeded enough to use it for all of
 the important hardware.

In Kirkwood, we are adding support for new boards with a combination of
DT and board file contents in multiple cases.

pxa/mmp and imx are extending support for existing board files but not
 adding new ones.

Linus Torvalds 813a95e5b4 arm-soc: soc-specific pinctrl changes
With this, five platforms are moving to the relatively new pinctrl
subsystem for their pin management, replacing the older soc specific
 in-kernel interfaces with common code.

There is quite a bit of net addition of code for each platform being
added to the pinctrl subsystem. but the payback comes later when adding
new boards can be done by only providing new device trees instead.

Grant Likely 3d0f7cf0f3 gpio: Adjust of_xlate API to support multiple GPIO chips
This patch changes the of_xlate API to make it possible for multiple
gpio_chips to refer to the same device tree node. This is useful for
banked GPIO controllers that use multiple gpio_chips for a single
device. With this change the core code will try calling of_xlate on
each gpio_chip that references the device_node and will return the
gpio number for the first one to return 'true'.
