Kumar Kartikeya Dwivedi 9c15db83a8 staging: sm750fb: Switch from strlcpy to strscpy
strlcpy is marked as deprecated in Documentation/process/deprecated.rst,
and there is no functional difference when the caller expects truncation
(when not checking the return value). strscpy is relatively better as it
also avoids scanning the whole source string.

This silences the related checkpatch warnings from:

Vaibhav Gupta 408a68c5f6 staging: sm750fb: use generic power management
Drivers using legacy power management .suspen()/.resume() callbacks
have to manage PCI states and device's PM states themselves. They also
need to take care of standard configuration registers.

Switch to generic power management framework using a single
"struct dev_pm_ops" variable to take the unnecessary load from the driver.
This also avoids the need for the driver to directly call most of the PCI
helper functions and device power state control functions, as through
the generic framework PCI Core takes care of the necessary operations,
and drivers are required to do only device-specific jobs.

Mauro Carvalho Chehab cd238effef docs: kbuild: convert docs to ReST and rename to *.rst
The kbuild documentation clearly shows that the documents
there are written at different times: some use markdown,
some use their own peculiar logic to split sections.

Convert everything to ReST without affecting too much
the author's style and avoiding adding uneeded markups.

The conversion is actually:
  - add blank lines and identation in order to identify paragraphs;
  - fix tables markups;
  - add some lists markups;
  - mark literal blocks;
  - adjust title markups.

At its new index.rst, let's add a :orphan: while this is not linked to
the main index.rst file, in order to avoid build warnings.

Sudip Mukherjee 5adc211e7a staging: sm750fb: add drm development branch details
The sm750 driver in staging has no future as new framebuffer driver
will not be added to fbdev anymore. A drm driver is being prepared, and
the details added to the TODO file. This sm750fb driver will be removed
as soon as the drm driver is ready. Also, remove my old email.

Linus Torvalds 449fcf3ab0 Staging/IIO patches for 4.15-rc1
Here is the "big" staging and IIO driver update for 4.15-rc1.

 Lots and lots of little changes, almost all minor code cleanups as the
 Outreachy application process happened during this development cycle.
 Also happened was a lot of IIO driver activity, and the typec USB code
 moving out of staging to drivers/usb (same commits are in the USB tree
 on a persistent branch to not cause merge issues.)

 Overall, it's a wash, I think we added a few hundred more lines than
 removed, but really only a few thousand were modified at all.

 All of these have been in linux-next for a while. There might be a
 merge issue with Al's vfs tree in the pi433 driver (take his changes,
 they are always better), and the media tree with some of the odd atomisp
 cleanups (take the media tree's version).
