Masahiro Yamada e324654294 ARM: use "depends on" for SoC configs instead of "if" after prompt
Many ARM sub-architectures use prompts followed by "if" conditional,
but it is wrong.

Please notice the difference between

    config ARCH_FOO
            bool "Foo SoCs" if ARCH_MULTI_V7

and

    config ARCH_FOO
            bool "Foo SoCs"
            depends on ARCH_MULTI_V7

These two are *not* equivalent!

In the former statement, it is not ARCH_FOO, but its prompt that
depends on ARCH_MULTI_V7. So, it is completely valid that ARCH_FOO
is selected by another, but ARCH_MULTI_V7 is still disabled. As it is
not unmet dependency, Kconfig never warns. This is probably not what
you want.

The former should be used only when you need to do so, and you really
understand what you are doing. (In most cases, it should be wrong!)

For enabling/disabling sub-architectures, the latter is always correct.

As a good side effect, this commit fixes some entries over 80 columns
(mach-imx, mach-integrator, mach-mbevu).

[Arnd: I note that there is not really a bug here, according to
the discussion that followed, but I can see value in being consistent
and in making the lines shorter]

Russell King 02b4e2756e ARM: v7 setup function should invalidate L1 cache
All ARMv5 and older CPUs invalidate their caches in the early assembly
setup function, prior to enabling the MMU. This is because the L1
cache should not contain any data relevant to the execution of the
kernel at this point; all data should have been flushed out to memory.

This requirement should also be true for ARMv6 and ARMv7 CPUs - indeed,
these typically do not search their caches when caching is disabled (as
it needs to be when the MMU is disabled) so this change should be safe.

ARMv7 allows there to be CPUs which search their caches while caching is
disabled, and it's permitted that the cache is uninitialised at boot;
for these, the architecture reference manual requires that an
implementation specific code sequence is used immediately after reset
to ensure that the cache is placed into a sane state. Such
functionality is definitely outside the remit of the Linux kernel, and
must be done by the SoC's firmware before _any_ CPU gets to the Linux
kernel.

Changing the data cache clean+invalidate to a mere invalidate allows us
to get rid of a lot of platform specific hacks around this issue for
their secondary CPU bringup paths - some of which were buggy.

Arnd Bergmann 4c9e0f76a5 ARM: 8370/1: hisi: fix hip04 build without HOTPLUG_CPU
The hip04 smp implementation provides the hotplug operations (cpu_die
and cpu_kill) unconditionally at the moment, which leads to a build
error when HOTPLUG_CPU is disabled:

mach-hisi/platmcpm.c:242:13: note: (near initialization for 'hip04_smp_ops')
mach-hisi/platmcpm.c:242:2: error: unknown field 'cpu_die' specified in initializer

option is not set.

Nicolas Pitre 905cdf9dda ARM: hisi/hip04: remove the MCPM overhead
This platform is currently relying on the MCPM infrastructure for no
apparent reason. The MCPM concurrency handling brings no benefits here
as there is no asynchronous CPU wake-ups to be concerned about (this is
used for CPU hotplug and secondary boot only, not for CPU idle).

This platform is also different from the other MCPM users because a given
CPU can't shut itself down completely without the assistance of another
CPU. This is at odds with the on-going MCPM backend refactoring.

To simplify things, this is converted to hook directly into the
smp_operations callbacks, bypassing the MCPM infrastructure.

Uwe Kleine-König 543c5040f5 ARM: make arrays containing machine compatible strings const
The definition

	static const char *axxia_dt_match[] __initconst = {
		...

defines a changable array of constant strings. That is you must not do:

	*axxia_dt_match[0] = 'k';

but

	axxia_dt_match[0] = "different string";

is fine. So the annotation __initconst is wrong and yields a compiler
error when other really const variables are added with __initconst.

As the struct machine_desc member dt_compat is declared as

	const char *const *dt_compat;

making the arrays const is the better alternative over changing all
annotations to __initdata.

Arnd Bergmann d8f0faa339 ARM: hisi: depend on ARCH_MULTI_V7
hisi has a general dependency on ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, which is
problematic when building a kernel for non-V7 platforms but selecting
drivers that might conflict with other architecture levels.

In this case, it broke my (still out of tree) patch set that
enables V7M multiplatform support, since that does not enable
MULTI_IRQ support:

arch/arm/kernel/built-in.o: In function `set_handle_irq':
arch/arm/kernel/irq.c:125: undefined reference to `handle_arch_irq'
arch/arm/kernel/built-in.o: In function `setup_arch':

Since all hisilicon platforms are ARMv7 based, we can avoid this
problem by just making the dependency more specific.

Merge tag 'cleanup-3.15' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc

Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann:
"These cleanup patches are mainly move stuff around and should all be
harmless. They are mainly split out so that other branches can be
based on top to avoid conflicts.

  Notable changes are:

   - We finally remove all mach/timex.h, after CLOCK_TICK_RATE is no
     longer used (Uwe Kleine-König)
   - The Qualcomm MSM platform is split out into legacy mach-msm and
new-style mach-qcom, to allow easier maintainance of the new
hardware support without regressions (Kumar Gala)
   - A rework of some of the Kconfig logic to simplify multiplatform
     support (Rob Herring)
   - Samsung Exynos gets closer to supporting multiplatform (Sachin
     Kamat and others)
   - mach-bcm3528 gets merged into mach-bcm (Stephen Warren)
   - at91 gains some common clock framework support (Alexandre Belloni,
Jean-Jacques Hiblot and other French people)"

Arnd Bergmann 8f881c6736 ARM: hisi: select HAVE_ARM_SCU only for SMP
The SCU code does not build unless we are compiling
an SMP kernel. This does the same as every other
platform with an SCU.

Arnd Bergmann 1d858f3177 ARM: hisi: fix building without CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU
The hisi SMP code always uses the hi3xxx_set_cpu() function
defined in the hotplug.c file, so we cannot build without
this when CONFIG_SMP is enabled. This patch slightly restructures
the code so we always build the parts of hotplug.c that we need
but just leave out the CPU disable logic if CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU
is turned off.

Rob Herring ddb902cc34 ARM: centralize common multi-platform kconfig options
Multi-platform requires various kconfig options to be selected, so
platforms don't need to select them individually.

warning: (ARCH_HI3xxx) selects HAVE_ARM_TWD which has unmet direct dependencies (SMP)

Fix HAVE_ARM_TWD to depend on SMP.

Haojian Zhuang 389ee0c2ff ARM: hisi: rename hi3xxx to hisi
Since some new Hisilicon SoCs are not named as hi3xxx, rename mach-hi3xxx
to mach-hisi instead. And the pronounciation of "hisi" is similar to the
chinese pronounciation of Hisilicon. So Hisilicon guys like this name.

ARCH_HI3xxx will be renamed later since other drivers are using it and
they are still in linux-next git tree. So rename ARCH_HI3xxx later.
