Creating Cross-Platform experiences with Window's Template Studio

It's common to want a supporting mobile app to accompany the desktop, UWP app created with WTS. Were looking to add this but its a big step, and we want first to confirm that what were thinking about is what the community wants.

  • We plan to add the ability to include mobile apps for iOS and Android in the same solution
  • These new mobile apps will use Xamarin.Forms, while continuing to build the desktop app with native UWP.
  • The mobile apps will share some code amongst themselves and some with the UWP app.
  • All the apps will be created to work with the same data sources and have the ability to create workflows that can continue when switching between devices.

If you dont want to use this new functionality, youll still be able to continue to use WTS to create UWP apps as you can now.

Well continue to support and enhance WTS to help anyone wanting to create a UWP app on its own or with an accompanying mobile experience.

We hope this plan will meet the needs of the majority of scenarios, but wed love your feedback.
