Currently, The fixed 512KB prealloc buffer size is too larger for
tiny memory kernel (such as 16MB memory). This patch adds the module
option "prealloc_buffer_size_kbytes" to specify prealloc buffer size.
It's suitable for cards which use the generic dmaengine pcm driver
with no config.

The only usage of these is to assign their address to the ops field in
the snd_soc_dai_driver struct, which is a pointer to const. Make them

Some headsets require very different comparator thresholds for type detection,
as well as longer settling times. In order to detect a larger number of headsets,
use 2 thresholds to give maximum coverage (1.25V and 1.75V), as well as a longer
settling time of 100ms. This will not affect default audotodetect mode
and applies to manual mode type detection only.

The versioning scheme was changed in an earlier patch, which caused the version
being used to initialize WCD9335 to be interpreted as if it was WCD937X, which
changed code paths causing broken headphones output. Pass WCD9335 instead of
WCD9335_VERSION_2_0 to wcd_clsh_ctrl_alloc to fix it.

wm_adsp originally provided firmware loading on some audio DSP and was
implemented as an ASoC codec driver. However, the firmware loading now
covers a wider range of DSP cores and peripherals containing them,
beyond just audio. So it needs to be available to non-audio drivers. All
the core firmware loading support has been moved into a new driver
cs_dsp, leaving only the ASoC-specific parts in wm_adsp.

When parsing a compressed buffer from the firmware the driver currently
open codes reading the firmware coefficient containing the buffer
description. Improve this slightly by using the coefficient read
functions already provided by the wm_adsp driver. It is worth noting
this change requires the running variable to be set before
wm_adsp_buffer_init is called, however this is safe, since its all still
under the power lock and nothing in the compressed code gates itself on
running.

With pause and resume test for ARC, there is occasionally
channel swap issue. The reason is that currently driver set
the DPATH out of reset first, then start the DMA, the first
data got from FIFO may not be the Left channel.
Moving DPATH out of reset operation after the dma enablement
to fix this issue.

Commit 25d27c4f68 ("ASoC: pcm512x: Add support for more data formats")
breaks the TSE-850 device, which is using a pcm5142 in I2S and
CBM_CFS mode (maybe not relevant). Without this fix, the result
is:
pcm512x 0-004c: Failed to set data format: -16
And after that, no sound.
This fix is not 100% correct. The datasheet of at least the pcm5142
states that four bits (0xcc) in the I2S_1 register are "RSV"
("Reserved. Do not access.") and no hint is given as to what the
initial values are supposed to be. So, specifying defaults for
these bits is wrong. But perhaps better than a broken driver?

SOF is marking all componet drivers with module_get_upon_open = 1 which works
fine with normal PCM streams, however on compressed side the module get upon
open is not supported. The module_get works when module_get_upon_open is not set
becasue the snd_soc_component_module_get_when_probe() will pass NULL for the
substream parameter of snd_soc_component_module_get().
In order to re-use the existing infrastructure for module_get, the proposal is
to convert the mark_module to void pointer (like the pm mark) and implement
matching code for the compressed open/free to pcm open/close.

Earlier as part of series [0], support for ADMAIF and I/O modules (such
as I2S, DMIC and DSPK) was added. This series aims at exposing some of
the AHUB internal modules (listed below), which can be used for audio
pre or post processing.
* SFC (Sampling Frequency Converter)
* MVC (Master Volume Control)
* AMX (Audio Multiplexer)
* ADX (Audio Demultiplexer)
* Mixer
These modules can be plugged into audio paths and relevant processing
can be done. The MUX routes are extended to allow add or remove above
modules in the path via mixer controls. This is similar to how specific
ADMAIF channels are connected to relevant I/O module instances at the
moment.
Some of these modules can alter PCM parameters. Consider example of
resampler (44.1 -> 48 kHz) in the path.
aplay(44.1 kHz) -> ADMAIF -> SFC -> (48 kHz) I2S -> (48kHz) Codec
The modules following SFC should be using converted sample rate and DAIs
need to be configured accordingly. The audio-graph driver provides a
mechanism to fixup the new parameters which can be specified in DT for a
given DAI. Then core uses these new values via fixup callback and then
pass it to respective DAIs hw_param() callback. The "convert-rate",
described in [1], property can be used when there is rate conversion in
the audio path. Similarly "convert-channels" can be used when there is
channel conversion in the path. There is no "convert-xxx" property for
sample size conversions. It can be added if necessary.

generate five outputs (each of which can be any combination of the
ten input streams)
This patch registers Mixer driver with ASoC framework. The component
driver exposes DAPM widgets, routes and kcontrols for the device.
The DAI driver exposes Mixer interfaces, which can be used to connect
different components in the ASoC layer. Makefile and Kconfig support
is added to allow build the driver. It can be enabled in the DT via
"nvidia,tegra210-amixer" compatible binding.

The Audio Demultiplexer (ADX) block takes an input stream with up to
16 channels and demultiplexes it into four output streams of up to 16
channels each. A byte RAM helps to form output frames by any combination
of bytes from the input frame. Its design is identical to that of byte
RAM in the AMX except that the data flow direction is reversed.
This patch registers ADX driver with ASoC framework. The component driver
exposes DAPM widgets, routes and kcontrols for the device. The DAI driver
exposes ADX interfaces, which can be used to connect different components
in the ASoC layer. Makefile and Kconfig support is added to allow build
the driver. It can be enabled in the DT via "nvidia,tegra210-adx"
compatible binding.

The Master Volume Control (MVC) provides gain or attenuation to a digital
signal path. It can be used in input or output signal path for per-stream
volume control or it can be used as master volume control. The MVC block
has one input and one output. The input digital stream can be mono or
multi-channel (up to 7.1 channels) stream. An independent mute control is
also included in the MVC block.
This patch registers MVC driver with ASoC framework. The component driver
exposes DAPM widgets, routes and kcontrols for the device. The DAI driver
exposes MVC interfaces, which can be used to connect different components
in the ASoC layer. Makefile and Kconfig support is added to allow build

When multiple components are connected back to back in an audio path,
hw_param fixup may be required for CPU or Codec endpoint of BE<->BE
DAI links. Currently fixup support is available for Codec and this
commit adds similar feature for CPU endpoint of a BE<->BE link.
For example a resampler component can be plugged into an audio path.
[ FE -> BE1 -> ... -> resampler -> ... BEn ]
The resampler DAI links can be:
BEx (CPU) -> resampler input (Codec)
resampler output (CPU) -> BEy (Codec)
Thus input and output sample rate parameters for resampler can be
fixed up as per the resample requirement.

In some cases, multiple FE components have the same BE component in their
respective DPCM paths. One such example would be a mixer component, which
can receive two or more inputs and sends a mixed output. In such cases,
to avoid reconfiguration of already active DAI (mixer output DAI in this
case), check the BE stream state to filter out the redundancy.
In summary, allow connection of BE if the respective current stream state
is either NEW or CLOSED.

Currently the try_module_get() and module_put() is not possible for
compressed streams if the module_get_upon_open is set to 1 which means that\
the components are not protected in a same way as components when normal
audio is used.
SOF is setting module_get_upon_open to 1 for component drivers which works
correctly for audio stream but when compressed stream is used then the
module is not protected.
Convert the compress open and free operation to mimic the steps of it's
pcm counterpart to fix this issue.

The mark_module of the snd_soc_component is strict snd_pcm_substream type
which prevents it to be used by compressed streams.
Change the type to void* along with the snd_soc_component_module_get()
and snd_soc_component_module_put() to allow the same mark to be used by
compressed when it's module_get_upon_open is set to 1.

If the snd_sof_dsp_send_msg() failed then we have already returned from
sof_ipc_tx_message_unlocked() with the error message.
There is no need to check if ret is really 0 after this and we can return
directly the return value from tx_wait_done()
At the same time make the remaining checks for error (ret) to match.

Do not print error message from snd_sof_trace_notify_for_error() when
possible sleeping trace work is woken up to flush the remaining debug
information.
This action by itself is not an error, it is just an action we take when
an error occurs to make sure that all information have been fed to the
userspace (if we have trace in use).

For some headsets CS42L42 autodetect mode is not working correctly.
They will be detected as unknown types or as headphones. According
to the CS42L42 datasheet, if the headset autodetect failed,
then the driver should switch to manual mode and perform a manual steps sequence.
These steps were missing in the current driver code. This patch will add manual
mode fallback steps in case autodetect failed. The default behavior is not affected,
manual mode runs only when autodetect failed.
Tested for regression with autodetect with all known headsets - no regression.
Tested with all headsets customers reported as false detected:
Gumdrop DropTech B1 - detected as headset OK
HUAWEI AM115 - detected as headset OK
UGREEN EP103 - detected as headset OK
HONOR AM116 - detected as headset OK

Hi,
The probe debug feature of SOF can be used to extract streams of data from a
given point of a pipeline for analysis.
The support is implemented by using the ALSA/ASoC compress support for the
capture stream, but the code can not be used by/for a normal compressed data
stream. It is a debug feature.
Merge the probe implementation in the core (compress.c/h and probe.c/h) into
one file: sof-probes.c/h
Rename the Intel HDA specific probe implementation from hda-compressc.c to
hda-probes.c
We also need to add IPC logging support for the probes messages and drop the
unused references to SOF compress to have reasonably clean code.

The probe debug functionality is implemented via compress support and it
was spread across two set of files:
probe.c/h
compress.c/h
Merge the two files into sof-probes.s/h and clean them up by removing
unused struct definitions, functions. We can also move most of the
functions static as they are only used internally.

sof_probe_compr_ops are not platform-specific. So move
it to common compress code and export the symbol. The
compilation of the common compress code is already dependent
on the selection of CONFIG_SND_SOC_SOF_DEBUG_PROBES, so no
need to check the Kconfig section for defining sof_probe_compr_ops
again.

Invoke release_firmware() when the firmware fails to boot in
sof_probe_continue().
The request_firmware() framework must be informed of failures in
sof_probe_continue() otherwise its internal "batching"
feature (different from caching) cached the firmware image
forever. Attempts to correct the file in /lib/firmware/ were then
silently and confusingly ignored until the next reboot. Unloading the
drivers did not help because from their disconnected perspective the
firmware had failed so there was nothing to release.
Also leverage the new snd_sof_fw_unload() function to simplify the
snd_sof_device_remove() function.

The snd_sof_dsp_mailbox_init() is called only from sof_get_windows()
to set the sdev->dsp_box.offset/size and sdev->host_box.offset/size
Instead of using a function, set the offsets and sizes like we do for the
other boxes in sof_get_windows().

To align with other platforms, set only the sdev->dsp_box.offset in
bdw_probe().
The mailbox offset must be set in order to be able to receive the firmware
ready message.
The offsets and sizes will be re-configured after the FW ready message
based on the window information.

dma_engine, dma_size and resindex_dma_base is unused from sof_dev_desc, drop
them.
resindex_dma_base is initialized to -1 for Intel platforms, but it is not used.

cs35l41 is often connected over I2C which is a very slow bus, as such
timings can be greatly improved combining writes where acceptable.
Update several points where the driver does multiple register writes
when a single one would suffice.

The loop checking PDN_DONE doesn't check the return value from
regmap_read, nor does it initialise val. This means if regmap_read fails
val will be checked for the PDN_DONE bit whilst being uninitialised.
Fix this up by switching to regmap_read_poll_timeout which tidies up the
code and avoids the uninitialised variable.

mt6359-sound is a MFD driver. Because its regmap is retrieved from its
parent, it shouldn't be freed in mt6359-sound driver.
snd_soc_component_exit_regmap() will do regmap_exit(), this results in
unexpected results if sound card unregister flow is invoked when users
try to bind/unbind audio codec.
Remove the usage of snd_soc_component_exit_regmap(). Instead, set
component->regmap = NULL in the component remove function.

If the value/data associated with a control changes in SOF it will send a
notification (SOF_IPC_GLB_COMP_MSG with SOF_IPC_COMP_GET_VALUE/DATA).
We have support for binary volatile control type, but we might have
features where enum/switch/volume changes. Re-implementing everything as
volatile as well would be not much of a gain for several reasons:
- volatile controls would do an IPC all the time, regardless if there is a
need or not.
- We still don't have notification which forces userspace to continuously
poll.
When such notification arrives we use snd_ctl_notify_one() to signal
userspace about the change.
The kernel is prepared for two types of notification:
- the notification carries the new data for the control (num_elems != 0)
The new value/data is copied to the control's local data
- blank message about a change
The new flag for the scontrol (comp_data_dirty) is set and when next
time user space reads the value via the kcontrol's get callback we will
refresh the control's local data from the firmware.

for consistency. The current use of _GET is obviously incorrect
but _GET and _SET result in the same action so there is no

Kconfig generates include/generated/autoconf.h to make CONFIG options
available to the pre-processor. Symbols with the value 'm' are suffixed
with '_MODULE'
Here is a conflict; CONFIG_FOO=m results in '#define CONFIG_FOO_MODULE 1',
but CONFIG_FOO_MODULE=y also results in the same define.
Also, CONFIG options that end with '_MODULE' confuse the Kconfig/fixdep
interaction; fixdep always assumes CONFIG_FOO_MODULE comes from
CONFIG_FOO=m, so the dependency is not properly tracked for symbols
that end with '_MODULE'.
For these reasons, CONFIG options that end with '_MODULE' should be
avoided in general. (I am planning on adding a check in Kconfig.)
This is the only case in the current kernel.
The new option name was suggested by Péter Ujfalusi. [1]

Most distributions do not enable the SOF developer options and
specifically the DMA trace. This is problematic for end-user/community
support since the sof-logger tool cannot extract valuable information.
Conversely in rare cases the DMA trace can lead to Heisenbugs by
creating more traffic to system memory and more interrupts.
This patch changes the logic so that the Kconfig value is used as a
default value for a module parameter, but this value can be changed as
needed. Users can override the distro DMA trace selection.

A DAPM widget now can have different types of controls, it is no longer
correct to print the type as it is just the type of the first control.

When memory allocation for afe->reg_back_up fails, reg_back_up can't

So if the platform component is not ready at that time, then the
sound card still registered successfully, but platform component
is empty, the sound card can't be used.
As there is defer probe checking for cpu dai component, then register
platform component before cpu dai to avoid such issue.

The SoundWire BEs make use of 'stream' functions for .prepare and
.trigger. These functions will in turn force a Bank Switch, which
implies a wait operation.
Mark SoundWire BEs as nonatomic for consistency, but keep all other
types of BEs as is. The initialization of .nonatomic is done outside
of the create_sdw_dailink helper to avoid adding more parameters to
deal with a single exception to the rule that BEs are atomic.

When CONFIG_SND_SOC_INTEL_SOUNDWIRE_SOF_MACH is enabled without
CONFIG_EXPERT, there is a Kconfig warning about unmet dependencies:

2. Make CONFIG_SND_SOC_SDW_MOCKUP's prompt depend on CONFIG_EXPERT so
that it can be selected by options that only depend on
CONFIG_SOUNDWIRE but still appear as a prompt to the user when
CONFIG_EXPERT is set.
3. Make CONFIG_SND_SOC_INTEL_SOUNDWIRE_SOF_MACH imply

CONFIG_SND_SOC_SDW_MOCKUP when its dependencies are enabled but still
allow the user to disable it.

removed Platform support from audio-graph, because it doesn't have
"plat" support on DT (simple-card has).
But, Platform support is needed if user is using
snd_dmaengine_pcm_register() which adds generic DMA as Platform.
And this Platform dev is using CPU dev.
Without this patch, at least STM32MP15 audio sound card is no more
functional (v5.13 or later). This patch respawn Platform Support on
audio-graph again.

The first 2 patches are sraightforward and look logical to me.
However, the 3rd one in purely speculative. It is based on the fact that a
comment states that we enable some irqs on some slave ports. That said, it writes
0xFF in some registers.
So, I guess that we should disable these irqs when the driver is removed. That
said, writing 0x00 at the same place looks logical to me.
This cis untested and NOT based on any documentation. Just a blind fix.

On start/pause_release/resume, when more than one FE is connected to
the same BE, it's possible that the trigger is sent more than
once. This is not desirable, we only want to trigger a BE once, which
is straightforward to implement with a refcount.
For stop/pause/suspend, the problem is more complicated: the check
implemented in snd_soc_dpcm_can_be_free_stop() may fail due to a
conceptual deadlock when we trigger the BE before the FE. In this
case, the FE states have not yet changed, so there are corner cases
where the TRIGGER_STOP is never sent - the dual case of start where
multiple triggers might be sent.
This patch suggests an unconditional trigger in all cases, without
checking the FE states, using a refcount protected by a spinlock.

When more than one FE is connected to a BE, e.g. in a mixing use case,
the BE can be triggered multiple times when the FE are opened/started
concurrently. This race condition is problematic in the case of
SoundWire BE dailinks, and this is not desirable in a general
case. The code carefully checks when the BE can be stopped or
hw_free'ed, but the trigger code does not use any mutual exclusion.
Fix by using the same spinlock already used to check FE states, and
set the state before the trigger. In case of errors, the initial
state will be restored.
This patch does not change how the triggers are handled, it only makes
sure the states are handled in critical sections.

The probe calls 'wcd9335_setup_irqs()' to enable interrupts on all slave

There is no point in calling 'free_irq()' explicitly for
'WCD9335_IRQ_SLIMBUS' in the remove function.
The irqs are requested in 'wcd9335_setup_irqs()' using a resource managed
function (i.e. 'devm_request_threaded_irq()').
'wcd9335_setup_irqs()' requests all what is defined in the 'wcd9335_irqs'
structure.
This structure has only one entry for 'WCD9335_IRQ_SLIMBUS'.
So 'devm_request...irq()' + explicit 'free_irq()' would lead to a double
free.
Remove the unneeded 'free_irq()' from the remove function.

This patch adds mt8195 adda dai driver.
audio_h clock is used by ADSP bus and ADDA module.
When ADDA requires audio_h clock, it is switched to APLL1, otherwise
it is switched to Xtal_26m so that APLL1 can be turned off when audio
feature is not used.
ADSP bus only requires that the clock is on, so dynamic reparenting
is used for the purpose of lowering power consumption.

This patch adds mt8195 tdm/i2s dai driver.
MCLK clock tree is as follows.
PLL -> MUX -> DIVIDER -> MCLK
For PLL source of MCLK, driver only supports APLL1 and APLL2 now.
APLL3 and APLL4 are used to track external clock source, so they are
only used when slave input is connected.
For example,
case 1: (HDMI RX connected)
DL memif (a1sys) -> etdm out2 (clk from apll1/apll2) -> codec
case 2: (HDMI RX disconnected)
HDMI RX -> a3sys -> UL memif (a3sys) -> DL memif (a3sys) -> .... ->
etdm out2 (clk from apll3) -> codec
We keep all modules in the pipeline working on the same clock domain.
MCLK is expected to output the clock generated from the same clock
source as the pipeline, so dynamic reparenting is required for MCLK
configuration.
As a result, clk_set_parent() is used to select PLL source,
and clk_set_rate() is used to configure divider to get MCLK output rate.

This patch reverts commit acbf58e530 ("ASoC: wm_adsp: Let
soc_cleanup_component_debugfs remove debugfs"), and adds an
alternate solution to the issue. That patch removes the call to
debugfs_remove_recursive, which cleans up the DSPs debugfs. The
intention was to avoid an unbinding issue on an out of tree
driver/platform.
The issue with the patch is it means the driver no longer cleans up
its own debugfs, instead relying on ASoC to remove recurive on the
parent debugfs node. This is conceptually rather unclean, but also it
would prevent DSPs being added/removed independently of ASoC and soon
we are going to be upstreaming some non-audio parts with these DSPs,
which will require this.
Finally, it seems the issue on the platform is a result of the
wm_adsp2_cleanup_debugfs getting called twice. This is very likely a
problem on the platform side and will be resolved there. But in the mean
time make the code a little more robust to such issues, and again
conceptually a bit nicer, but clearing the debugfs_root variable in the
DSP structure when the debugfs is removed.

A module can have two kinds of set params, as per topology requirements.
For example, one pre-init and one post-init. But currently, there is
support for just one type, as the format_config.
This patch extends the format_configs to 4, so as to be able to support
pre-init, post-init and post-bind type of set params, for the same
module, simultaneously.

States SKL_MODULE_LOADED and SKL_MODULE_UNLOADED are redundant with
'loadable' flag in struct skl_module. Additionally
skl_tplg_mixer_dapm_post_pmd_event() sets m_state always to
SKL_MODULE_UNINIT so next unload function isn't called for such modules.

KeyPhrasebuffer, Mixin and Mixout modules configuration is described by
firmware's basic module configuration structure. There are no extended

Module configuration may differ between its instances depending on
resources required and input and output audio format. Available
parameters to select from are stored in module resource and interface
(format) lists. These come from topology, together with description of
each of pipe's modules.
Ignoring index value provided by topology and relying always on 0th
entry leads to unexpected module behavior due to under/overbudged
resources assigned or impropper format selection. Fix by taking entry at
index specified by topology.

We worked around the breakage of PCM buffer setup by the commit
65ca89c2b1 ("ASoC: intel: atom: Fix breakage for PCM buffer address
setup"), but this isn't necessary since the CONTINUOUS buffer type
also sets runtime->dma_addr since commit f84ba106a0 ("ALSA:
memalloc: Store snd_dma_buffer.addr for continuous pages, too").
Let's revert the change again.

The HP Elitepad 1000 G2 tablet has 2 headset jacks:
1. on the dock which uses the output of the codecs built-in HP-amp +
the standard IN2 input which is always used with the headset-jack.
2. on the tablet itself, this uses the line-out of the codec + an external
HP-amp, which gets enabled by the ALC5642 codec's GPIO1 pin; and IN1 for
the headset-mic.
The codec's GPIO1 is also its only IRQ output pin, so this means that
the codec's IRQ cannot be used on this tablet. Instead the jack-detect
is connected directly to GPIOs on the main SoC. The dock has a helper
chip which also detects if a headset-mic is present or not, so there
are 2 GPIOs for the jack-detect status of the dock. The tablet jack
uses a single GPIO which indicates if a jack is present or not.
Differentiating between between headphones vs a headset on the tablet jack
is done by using the usual mic-bias over-current-detection mechanism.

This driver is assuming that all adg->clk[i] is not NULL.
Because of this prerequisites, for_each_rsnd_clk() is possible to work
for all clk without checking NULL. In other words, all adg->clk[i]
should not NULL.
Some SoC might doesn't have clk_a/b/c/i. devm_clk_get() returns error in
such case. This driver calls rsnd_adg_null_clk_get() and use null_clk
instead of NULL in such cases.
But devm_clk_get() might returns NULL even though such clocks exist, but
it doesn't mean error (user deliberately chose to disable the feature).
NULL clk itself is not error from clk point of view, but is error from
this driver point of view because it is not assuming such case.
But current code is using IS_ERR() which doesn't care NULL.
This driver uses IS_ERR_OR_NULL() instead of IS_ERR() for clk check.
And it uses ERR_CAST() to clarify null_clk error.
One concern here is that it unconditionally uses null_clk if clk_a/b/c/i
was error. It is correct if it doesn't exist, but is not correct if it
returns error even though it exist.
It needs to check "clock-names" from DT before calling devm_clk_get() to
handling such case. But let's assume it is overkill so far.

In order to be able to do jack-detection reporting for the
mic contact on the 2nd jack found on some devices, the
DAPM topology needs to have a separate DAPM pin/input for that
microphone, instead of re-using the "Internal Mic" pin which is
normally used together with the IN1P input of the codec.
Using the "Internal Mic" dapm-pin-switch for this in a snd_soc_jack_pin to
report hotplug events causes the "Internal Mic" pin to get deactivated
when unplugging a headset from the 2nd jack, thus turning off the actual
Internal Mic (typically a pair of digital mics on devices with 2 jacks).

from the mic-bias-current over-current-detection to differentiate
between headphones vs a headset.
Move the ovcd init code from rt5640_enable_jack_detect() into a new
rt5640_set_ovcd_params() helper and export this helper as well
as a couple of related ovcd functions.

Some devices don't use the builtin jack-detect but can still benefit
from the mic-bias-current over-current-detection headphones vs
headset detection done by rt5640_detect_headset().
In this case the jack-inserted check done by rt5640_detect_headset()
needs to be done through a GPIO rather then by using the codec's
builtin jack-detect. Add an optional hp_det_gpio parameter and export
rt5640_detect_headset() for use on machines where jack-detect is
handled outside of the codec.

Delay requesting the IRQ until the machine-drv calls set_jack.
The main reason for this is that the codec's IRQ is unused on some boards,
in which case we really should not call request_irq at all.
On some boards there is an IRQ listed at index 0 for the codec, but
this is not connected to the codec, but rather is directly connected
to the jack's jack-detect pin. These special setups will be handled
by the machine-driver, but the machine driver can only request the IRQ
if it is not first requested by the codec driver. Moving the request_irq
to the set_jack callback (which will not get called in this case) avoids
the codec-driver clobbering the IRQ.
Moving the request_irq also removes the need to disable the IRQ immediately
after requesting it, avoiding a small race (this could also have been fixed
by using the new IRQF_NO_AUTOEN flag when requesting the IRQ).

dma_request_chan() returns error pointer in case of failures, but
the rz_ssi_dma_request() checked for NULL pointer instead.
This patch fixes the issue by checking for ERR_PTR() instead of
NULL and sets the DMA pointers to NULL in error case so that ssi
can fallback to PIO mode.

The commit 2e6b836312 ("ASoC: intel: atom: Fix reference to PCM
buffer address") changed the reference of PCM buffer address to
substream->runtime->dma_addr as the buffer address may change
dynamically. However, I forgot that the dma_addr field is still not
set up for the CONTINUOUS buffer type (that this driver uses) yet in
5.14 and earlier kernels, and it resulted in garbage I/O. The problem
will be fixed in 5.15, but we need to address it quickly for now.
The fix is to deduce the address again from the DMA pointer with
virt_to_phys(), but from the right one, substream->runtime->dma_area.

Use "cfg-lineout:2" in the components string on boards with a lineout
instead of "cfg-lineout:1", this better mirrors the speaker part of
the components string where we use "cfg-spk:1" for devices with a single
speaker and "cfg-spk:2" for stereo speakers.
The lineout is stereo by default, so using ":2" makes more sense, this
way we keep ":1" reserved in case we ever encounter a device with
a mono lineout.
We can make this change without breaking userspace because no kernel
has shipped with "cfg-lineout:1" in the component-string yet; and there
also are no userspace bits (UCM profiles) checking for this yet.

This patchset provides an optimization that result in significant power
savings on Intel HDAudio platforms using SOF (Sound Open Firmware).
We previously prevented the Intel DSP from enabling the DMI_L1
capability to work-around issues with pause on capture streams. It
turns out that this also prevented the platform from entering high C
states in full-duplex usages such as videoconferencing - a rather
basic use case since the start of the pandemic.
The support for pause_push/release was already a bit controversial for
Intel platforms, in theory platforms should only enable PAUSE if they
can resume on the same sample, which is not the case on any Intel
platform.
With this patchset, when the user enables DMI L1 via a kernel
parameter, the PAUSE support is disabled for capture streams. A kernel
parameter is far from ideal but it's a placeholder until we have an
API to negotiate capabilities between applications and driver, and
it's far less confusing than a Kconfig option.

Follow the example of Intel Atom drivers and keep a reference to the
headset codec until the properties are removed.
There is no guarantee that the module for the codec driver is loaded
before the machine driver probe, the use of the deferred probe
mechanism is required.

acpi_dev_get_first_match_dev() searches for an acpi_handle
instantiated by the ACPI table scanning done early during boot.
Two of three machine drivers using this search don't deal with errors
and the one which does (bytcr_rt5651) returns -ENODEV, which doesn't
make sense here: an alternate driver will not be probed.
Add consistent error handling and report -ENXIO.

In current ACPI-based devices, the DSDT does not include any of the
properties required by the codec driver. This is not an ACPI
limitation proper since the _DSD method could be used, as done for
Camera and SoundWire in newer platforms. For legacy devices, there is
unfortunately no other option than using a work-around: we add
properties to the codec device from the machine driver.
To avoid any issues with the codec driver being unbound, we need to
keep a reference to the codec device until the card is removed.

Exposing the DMI L1 configuration as a kernel Kconfig option was in
hindsight a really bad idea. It led to several errors reported by
distributions which selected it by mistake.
The Kconfig is now replaced with a kernel parameter. Since DMI L1
entry is incompatible with pause on a capture stream, the latter is
disabled when the kernel parameter is set.
Experimental results show an increased residency in higher C states
and a significant decrease of system power consumption for "work from
home" usages such as VoIP calls.

Sparse warnings triggered truncating the IDs of some platform device
tables. Unfortunately some of the IDs in the match tables were missed
which breaks audio. The KBL change has been verified to fix audio, the
CML change was not tested as it was found through grepping the broken
changes and found to match the same situation in anticipation that it
should also be fixed.

If the machine driver doesn't call snd_soc_dai_set_sysclk() the
SCLK is assumed to be sample_rate * sample_bits * 2 (that is, the
rate necessary for a standard I2S frame).
But 24-bit samples can be sent in either a 24-bit slot or a 32-bit
slot. If the PLL is configured for a 24-bit slot, but a 32-bit slot is
used, cs42l42 will be overclocked.
Ultimately it is the machine driver's responsibilty to call
snd_soc_dai_set_sysclk() if SLK will be different from the standard
I2S rate. However, it is convenient to assume 32-bit slots to allow
this common case without needing special machine driver support. The
machine driver then only has to set SCLK if the slots are 24-bit, but
if it fails to do this cs42l42 won't be overclocked.

Interrupt is optional for the RT5640 codec. Nexus 7 doesn't use interrupt,
this results in a noisy warning message that looks like a error condition.
Make interrupt explicitly optional to silence the message, use modern
IRQF_NO_AUTOEN flag and correct the reg[q]uest typo in the message.

I2S always has two LRCLK phases and both CH1 and CH2 of the RX
must be enabled (corresponding to the low and high phases of LRCLK.)
The selection of the valid data channels is done by setting the DAC
CHA_SEL and CHB_SEL. CHA_SEL is always the first (left) channel,
CHB_SEL depends on the number of active channels.
Previously for mono ASP CH2 was not enabled, the result was playing
mono data would not produce any audio output.

The lowest valid SCLK corresponds to 44.1 kHz at 16-bit. Sample
rates less than this would produce SCLK below the minimum when using
a normal I2S frame. A constraint must be applied to prevent this.
The constraint is not applied if the machine driver sets SCLK, to
allow setups where the host generates additional bits per LRCLK
phase to increase the SCLK frequency. In these cases the machine
driver would always have to inform this driver of the actual SCLK,
and it must select a legal SCLK.

An I2S frame starts on the falling edge of LRCLK so ASP_STP must
be 0.
At the same time, move other format settings in the same register
from cs42l42_pll_config() to cs42l42_set_dai_fmt() where you'd
expect to find them, and merge into a single write.

Both SCLK and PLL clocks must be running to drive the glitch-free mux
behind MCLK_SRC_SEL and complete the switchover.
This patch moves the writing of MCLK_SRC_SEL to when the PLL is started
and stopped, so that it only transitions while the PLL is running.
The unconditional write MCLK_SRC_SEL=0 in cs42l42_mute_stream() is safe
because if the PLL is not running MCLK_SRC_SEL is already 0.

The allocation of the DAI link components (DLCs) passed the wrong
pointer to sizeof. Since simple_dai_props is much larger than
snd_soc_dai_link_component, there was no out of bounds access, only
wasted memory.

The mmap callback of vangogh driver just calls the default mmap
handler, and it's superfluous, as the PCM core would call it if not
set. Let's drop the superfluous mmap callback.
