As we are restoring power to a known card, it makes sense to use
the 'ocr' value known for the card rather than the generic one
for the host interface.
This matches the use of card->ocr passed to mmc_power_up in
mmc_sdio_runtime_resume (just before mmc_sdio_power_restore is
called), and the value passed to mmc_sdio_init_card() a little
later in mmc_sdio_power_restore().

This patch resurrects an old never-finished driver for Toshiba PCI SD
controllers found in some older Toshiba laptops (such as Portege R100):
02:0d.0 System peripheral [0880]: Toshiba America Info Systems SD TypA Controller [1179:0805] (rev 05)
The code is fixed, cleaned up and successfully tested with SD, SDHC, SDXC and
MMC cards on Portege R100. (MMC cards don't even work in Windows!)
SDIO probably does not work (don't have any SDIO card).
The hardware is slow (around 2 MB/s - same in Windows) because it does not
support bus mastering (busmaster enable bit cannot be set in PCI control reg).
Also the card clock is limited to 16MHz (33MHz PCI clock divided by 2).

mmc_do_hw_reset(), mmc_power_up() and mmc_power_off() all set similar
initial values for bus_mode, bus_width, chip_select and timing. Let's
make this handling simpler and more consistent by sticking them
together in a common function. This will introduce small changes in
behavior in the following places:
mmc_power_off():
For SPI hosts, explicitly set bus_mode = MMC_BUSMODE_PUSHPULL and
chip_select = MMC_CS_HIGH, before we left them as they were.
For non-SPI hosts, set bus_mode = MMC_BUSMODE_PUSHPULL instead of
MMC_BUSMODE_OPENDRAIN as before.
These two changes should not be a problem since the device will be
powered off anyway.
mmc_do_hw_reset():
Always set bus_mode = MMC_BUSMODE_PUSHPULL, as required by SD/SDIO
cards. MMC cards require MMC_BUSMODE_OPENDRAIN, but this is taken
care of by mmc_init_card() and mmc_attach_mmc().

omap_hsmmc supports only one slot per controller, see OMAP_MMC_MAX_SLOTS.
This unnecessary indirection leads to confusion in the omap_hsmmc driver.
For example the card_detect callback is not installed by platform code
but from the driver probe function. So it should be a field of
omap_hsmmc_host. But since it is declared under the platform slot while
the drivers struct omap_hsmmc_host has no slot abstraction, this looks
like a bug, especially when not familiar that this driver only supports
1 slot anyway.

MMC core already has support for HS400. Add HS400
support to SDHCI driver. The SDHC Standard specification
does not define HS400 so consequently HS400 support is
non-standard. However HS400 is not selected without
the host controller setting the corresponding capability
flags so host controllers not yet supporting HS400
will not be affected. To support that, a quirk
SDHCI_QUIRK2_CAPS_BIT63_FOR_HS400 is introduced to

Because HS400 is non-standard for SDHCI, it is possible

The dw_mmc driver had a bunch of code that ran whenever a card was
ejected and inserted. However, this code was old and crufty and
should be removed. Some evidence that it's really not needed:
1. Is is supposed to be legal to use 'cd-gpio' on dw_mmc instead of
using the built-in card detect mechanism. The 'cd-gpio' code
doesn't run any of the crufty old code but yet still works.
2. While looking at this, I realized that my old change (369ac86 mmc:
dw_mmc: don't queue up a card detect at slot startup) actually
castrated the old code a little bit already and nobody noticed.
Specifically "last_detect_state" was left as 0 at bootup. That
means that on the first card removal none of the crufty code ran.
3. I can run "while true; do dd if=/dev/mmcblk1 of=/dev/null; done"
while ejecting and inserting an SD Card and the world doesn't
explode.
If some of the crufty old code is actually needed, we should justify
it and also put it in some place where it will be run even with
"cd-gpio".
Note that in my case I'm using the "cd-gpio" mechanism but for various
reasons the hardware triggers a dw_mmc "card detect" at bootup. That
was actually causing a real bug. The card detect workqueue was
running while the system was trying to enumerate the card. The
"present != slot->last_detect_state" triggered and we were doing all
kinds of crazy stuff and messing up enumeration. The new mechanism of
just asking the core to check the card is much safer and then the
bogus interrupt doesn't hurt.

Canceling the prepared request would give opportunity to the host drivers
to perform cleanup on the prepared request.
Without this patch host drivers like mmci gets confused when a blocking
request like send_ext_csd(CMD8) is issued while there is already a prepared
request. With the help of this patch, the driver can better manage such
blocking requests and cleanup the prepared requests which are not started yet.
Without this patch I hit below crash on Qualcomm APQ8064 based IFC6410 board
with mmci host driver.

In mmc_init_card function some of the branches in error handling paths
go to "err" label, which skips removing of newly allocated card structure,
that will actually not be used. Fix that by using proper "free_card" label.
Also, some messages in these branches are reported as warnings,
although the operation processing is not continued. Change these
messages to error level.

after processing the request, do not include results of sbc (set block count)
part of request. Add the debug message for that part too.

Some request fields are initialized just before request processing
for sanity purposes. This is done for command, data, and stop parts
of the request, but not for sbc (set block count) part. Add such
initialization for that part too.

Add the case of SET_BLOCK_COUNT command error to the error conditions
check for making a controller reset at request handling finish.
Otherwise, if the SET_BLOCK_COUNT command failed, e.g. with a timeout,
the controller state was not reset, and the next command failed too.
In the case of data error the controller reset is already done in
finish_data() function before sending stop command (if present),
so the finish tasklet should make a reset after data error only
if no stop command existed in the request.
Also, fix the indentation of this condition check to make it more logical.

As a follow-up of commit
"mmc: sdhci: Balance vmmc regulator_enable(), and always enable vqmmc"
vmmc regulator disable is also not needed in sdhci_remove_host.
The regulator is completely controlled by mmc_power_up and mmc_power_off
functions and is already disabled by the time of removing the host.
Extra regulator_disable call in sdhci_remove_host is unbalanced and
causes a warning reported by regulator core, so should be removed.

The commit ad93220de7 ("mmc: sdhci-esdhc-imx: change pinctrl state

As there are configurations doing the pin mux properly in the boot

pinctrl states in the device tree.

If available voltages are not given, mmc_regulator_get_supply() function
returns 0 and mxcmmc driver doesn't set a value for ocr_avail mask.
In accordance with the comment in platform_data/mmc-mxcmmc.h,
fix it, assuming MMC_VDD_32_33 | MMC_VDD_33_34 as default value.

and free the resources:
1) checking STATUS_DATA_TRANS_DONE mask, in the mxcmci_irq() routine

Since commit 89168b4899 ("mmc: core: restore detect line inversion
semantics"), the SD card on i.MX28 (and possibly other) devices isn't
detected and booting stops at:
[ 4.120617] Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p3...
This is caused by the MMC_CAP2_CD_ACTIVE_HIGH flag being set incorrectly
when the host controller doesn't use a GPIO for card detection (but
instead uses a dedicated pin). In this case mmc_gpiod_request_cd() will
return before assigning to the gpio_invert variable, leaving the
variable uninitialized. The variable then gets used to set the flag.
This patch fixes the issue by making sure gpio_invert is set to false
when a GPIO isn't used. After this patch, i.MX28 boots fine.
The MMC_CAP2_RO_ACTIVE_HIGH (write protect) flag is also set incorrectly
for the exact same reason (it uses the same uninitialized variable), so
this patch fixes that too.

Clear QUEUE_FLAG_ADD_RANDOM in all block drivers that set
QUEUE_FLAG_NONROT.
Historically, all block devices have automatically made entropy
contributions. But as previously stated in commit e2e1a148 ("block: add
sysfs knob for turning off disk entropy contributions"):
- On SSD disks, the completion times aren't as random as they
are for rotational drives. So it's questionable whether they
should contribute to the random pool in the first place.
- Calling add_disk_randomness() has a lot of overhead.
There are more reliable sources for randomness than non-rotational block
devices. From a security perspective it is better to err on the side of
caution than to allow entropy contributions from unreliable "random"
sources.

switched the semantic behaviour of card detect and read
only flags such that the inversion capability flag would
only be set if inversion was explicitly specified in the

inversion.
It turns out that the XOR:ing between the explicit
inversion was indeed in use, so we need to restore the
old semantics where both ways of inversion are checked
and the end result XOR:ed.

As soon as the CD IRQ is requested, it can trigger, since it's an
externally controlled event. If it does, delayed_work host->detect will
be scheduled.
Many host controller probe()s are roughly structured as:
*_probe() {
host = sdhci_pltfm_init();
mmc_of_parse(host->mmc);
rc = sdhci_add_host(host);
if (rc) {
sdhci_pltfm_free();
return rc;
}
In 3.17, CD IRQs can are enabled quite early via *_probe() ->
mmc_of_parse() -> mmc_gpio_request_cd() -> mmc_gpiod_request_cd_irq().
Note that in linux-next, mmc_of_parse() calls mmc_gpio*d*_request_cd()
rather than mmc_gpio_request_cd(), and mmc_gpio*d*_request_cd() doesn't
call mmc_gpiod_request_cd_irq(). However, this issue still exists if
mmc_gpio_request_cd() is called directly before mmc_start_host().
sdhci_add_host() may fail part way through (e.g. due to deferred
probe for a vmmc regulator), and sdhci_pltfm_free() does nothing to
unrequest the CD IRQ nor cancel the delayed_work. sdhci_pltfm_free() is
coded to assume that if sdhci_add_host() failed, then the delayed_work
cannot (or should not) have been triggered.
This can lead to the following with CONFIG_DEBUG_OBJECTS_* enabled, when
kfree(host) is eventually called inside sdhci_pltfm_free():
WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 6 at lib/debugobjects.c:263 debug_print_object+0x8c/0xb4()
ODEBUG: free active (active state 0) object type: timer_list hint: delayed_work_timer_fn+0x0/0x18
The object being complained about is host->detect.
There's no need to request the CD IRQ so early; mmc_start_host() already
requests it. For most SDHCI hosts at least, the typical call path that
does this is: *_probe() -> sdhci_add_host() -> mmc_add_host() ->
mmc_start_host(). Therefore, remove the call to mmc_gpiod_request_cd_irq()
from mmc_gpio_request_cd(). This also matches mmc_gpio*d*_request_cd(),
which already doesn't call mmc_gpiod_request_cd_irq().
However, some host controller drivers call mmc_gpio_request_cd() after
mmc_start_host() has already been called, and assume that this will also
call mmc_gpiod_request_cd_irq(). Update those drivers to explicitly call
mmc_gpiod_request_cd_irq() themselves. Ideally, these drivers should be
modified to move their call to mmc_gpio_request_cd() before their call
to mmc_add_host(). However that's too large a change for stable.
This solves the problem (eliminates the kernel error message above),
since it guarantees that the IRQ can't trigger before mmc_start_host()
is called.
The critical point here is that once sdhci_add_host() calls
mmc_add_host() -> mmc_start_host(), sdhci_add_host() is coded not to
fail. In other words, if there's a chance that mmc_start_host() may have
been called, and CD IRQs triggered, and the delayed_work scheduled,
sdhci_add_host() won't fail, and so cleanup is no longer via
sdhci_pltfm_free() (which doesn't free the IRQ or cancel the work queue)
but instead must be via sdhci_remove_host(), which calls mmc_remove_host()
-> mmc_stop_host(), which does free the IRQ and cancel the work queue.

implicitly through the device tree probe glue in mmc_of_init(),
but devices instatiated other ways such as through board files
and passing descriptors using the GPIO descriptor table will
not be able to exploit descriptors.
Augment the driver to look for a GPIO descriptor if device
tree is not used for the device, and if that doesn't work,
fall back to platform data GPIO assignment using the old

count may not be 1 << 27, e.g. i.MX uSDHC is 1 << 28.

It is also possible that other platforms may have different values.
To be flexible, we add a get_max_timeout_count hook to get the correct

The operation conditions register (OCR) stores the voltage
profile of the card, however the list of possible voltages
is restricted by the voltage range supported by the supply
used as VCC/VDD. So in mmc_vddrange_to_ocrmask() a OCR mask
is obtained to filter the not supported voltages, from the
value read in the host controller OCR register.
For fixed regulators, regulator_list_voltage() returns the
fixed output for the first selector but this doesn't happen
for switch (FET) regulators that obtain their voltage from
their parent supply. A call to regulator_get_voltage() is
needed in this case so the regulator core can return the
FET's parent supply voltage output.
This change is consistent with the fact that for other
fixed regulators (that are not FETs) the OCR mask is
returned even when mmc_regulator_set_ocr() checks if the
regulator is fixed before calling regulator_set_voltage().
Without this patch, the following warning is reported when
a FET is used as a vmmc-supply:

Some eMMC and SD cards implement a DSR register that allows to tune
raise/fall times and drive strength of the CMD and DATA outputs.
The values to use depend on the card in use and the host.
It might be needed to reduce the drive strength to prevent voltage peaks
above the host's specification.
Implement a 'dsr' devicetree property that allows to specify the value
to set the DSR to. For non-dt setups the new members of mmc_host can be
set by board code.

We fix this two ways and both of the two fixes on their own appear to

1. Fix a race in the tasklet where the interrupt setting the data
error happens _just after_ we check for it, then we get a
EVENT_XFER_COMPLETE. We fix this by repeating a bit of code.
2. Fix it so that if we detect that we've got an error in the "data

Commit "mmc: mmci: Handle CMD irq before DATA irq", caused an issue
when using the ARM model of the PL181 and running QEMU.
The bug was reported for the following QEMU version:
$ qemu-system-arm -version
QEMU emulator version 2.0.0 (Debian 2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.1), Copyright
(c) 2003-2008 Fabrice Bellard
To resolve the problem, let's restore the old behavior were the DATA
irq is handled prior the CMD irq, but only for the arm_variant, which
the problem was reported for.

It is not required (in fact it even is not recommended) that a PCI
driver's suspend() callback save the standard configuration registers
of the device, prepare it for waking up the system, or put it into a
low-power state. All of these operations can very well be taken
care of by the PCI subsystem, without the driver's participation. Thus
remove these PCI functions.
For the device which has wake up capability, use device_init_wakeup to
init the wake up capability so that PCI core will help to enable the wakeup
for it.

Currently when the device secure discard implementation is
blacklisted (MMC_QUIRK_SEC_ERASE_TRIM_BROKEN quirk is set)
instead of secure discard we're going to do normal discard,

When the secure discard is known to be broken we should just
disallow it entirely and not advertise this functionality to

In case of reboot my olinuxino imx23 board does not see
mmc card any more. mmc_rescan is being called by delayed
work in loop, but mxs_mmc_get_cd always returns 0, so we
will never pass the card detection check and will not do
further card inition.
This patch is just an attempt to partially revert the patch
a91fe279ae of Sascha Hauer, where it is claimed that upper
layer will handle broken card detection using the polling
logic and MMC_CAP_NEEDS_POLL capability, but seems it is not
true, because upper logic still expects 1 from 'get_cd'.
So, here we always return 1 (card present) in case of
MMC_CAP_NEEDS_POLL capability set.

A standard compliant SDHCI can itself supply VDD at 1.8, 3.0, or 3.3v.
Several vendors ignore this and instead rely upon external regulators
to supply VDD. While the external regulators typically can supply one
of the standard SDHCI voltage levels, there is no real reason for this
to be a hard requirement.
This patch alters the SDHCI driver such that external VDD regulators
that provide voltages other than the three mentioned above may be used
so long as they can supply a voltage that meets the needs of the card.
In the case that an external VDD regulator is provided, it is reasonable
to ignore the voltage capabilities of the host controller and allow the
external regulator to set the OCR mask. Additionally, there is no need
to convert a VDD voltage request into one of the standard SDHCI voltage
levels or program it in the host controller's power control register.

For MMC_BUS_WIDTH_8 case, current code missed setting BM_EIGHTBIT_MODE bit.
Also has a small refactor to make the code looks better in readability.
So the bit settings witch below logic:
SDMMC_BUSMODE register:
Set EIGHTBIT_MODE bit for 8 bit mode, Set FOURBIT_MODE bit for 4 bit mode.
Clear both EIGHTBIT_MODE and FOURBIT_MODE bits for 1 bit mode.
SDMMC_EXTCTRL register:
Set EXT_EIGHTBIT bit for 8 bit mode, Clear EXT_EIGHTBIT bit for 1/4 bit mode.
Add define for EXT_EIGHTBIT to avoid using magic number.
BM_ONEBIT_MASK is no longer used, thus remove it.
This patch is untested due to lack of platform with 8-bit hardware.
However since the code is there, it's good to make the code match the document.

The am335x can't detect pending cirq in PM runtime suspend.
This patch reconfigures dat1 as a GPIO before going to suspend.
SDIO interrupts are detected with the GPIO, the GPIO will only wake
the module from suspend, SDIO irq detection will still happen through the
IP block.

These are predefined states of the driver model. When not present,
as if not set in the device tree, they become no-ops.
Explicitly selecting the default state is not needed since the
device core layer sets pin mux to "default" state before probe.
This is not the simplest implementation, on AM335x at least, we could
switch to idle at any point in the suspend hook, only the default state
needs to be set before writing to the irq registers or an IRQ might get
lost.

There have been various patches floating around for enabling
the SDIO IRQ for hsmmc, but none of them ever got merged.
Probably the reason for not merging the SDIO interrupt patches
has been the lack of wake-up path for SDIO on some omaps that
has also needed remuxing the SDIO DAT1 line to a GPIO making
the patches complex.
This patch adds the minimal SDIO IRQ support to hsmmc for
omaps that do have the wake-up path. For those omaps, the
DAT1 line need to have the wake-up enable bit set, and the
wake-up interrupt is the same as for the MMC controller.
This patch has been tested on am3730 es1.2 with mwifiex
connected to MMC3 with mwifiex waking to Ethernet traffic
from off-idle mode. Note that for omaps that do not have
the SDIO wake-up path, this patch will not work for idle
modes and further patches for remuxing DAT1 to GPIO are
needed.
Based on earlier patches [1][2] by David Vrabel
<david.vrabel@csr.com>, Steve Sakoman <steve@sakoman.com>
For now, only support SDIO interrupt if we are booted with
a separate wake-irq configued via device tree. This is
because omaps need the wake-irq for idle states, and some
omaps need special quirks. And we don't want to add new
legacy mux platform init code callbacks any longer as we
are moving to DT based booting anyways.
To use it, you need to specify the wake-irq using the
interrupts-extended property.

MCIFIFOCNT register behaviour on Qcom chips is very different than the other
pl180 integrations. MCIFIFOCNT register contains the number of
words that are still waiting to be transferred through the FIFO. It keeps
decrementing once the host CPU reads the MCIFIFO. With the existing logic and
the MCIFIFOCNT behaviour, mmci_pio_read will loop forever, as the FIFOCNT
register will always return transfer size before reading the FIFO.
Also the data sheet states that "This register is only useful for debug
purposes and should not be used for normal operation since it does not reflect
data which may or may not be in the pipeline".
This patch implements a qcom specific get_rx_fifocnt function which is
implemented based on status register flags. Based on qcom_fifo flag in
variant data structure, the corresponding get_rx_fifocnt function is selected.

Merge tag 'clk-for-linus-3.16' of git://git.linaro.org/people/mike.turquette/linux into next
Pull clock framework updates from Mike Turquette:
"The clock framework changes for 3.16 are pretty typical: mostly clock
driver additions and fixes. There are additions to the clock core
code for some of the basic types (e.g. the common divider type has
some fixes and featured added to it).
One minor annoyance is a last-minute dependency that wasn't handled
quite right. Commit ba0fae3b06 ("clk: berlin: add core clock driver
for BG2/BG2CD") in this pull request depends on
include/dt-bindings/clock/berlin2.h, which is already in your tree via
the arm-soc pull request. Building for the berlin platform will break
when the clk tree is built on it's own, but merged into your master
branch everything should be fine"

The Allwinner sunxi mmc host uses dma in bus-master mode using a built-in
designware idmac controller, which is identical to the one found in the mmc-dw
hosts. However the rest of the host is not identical to mmc-dw, it deals with
sending stop commands in hardware which makes it significantly different
from the mmc-dw devices.

Tegra SDHCI controllers, by default, report a base clock frequency of
208Mhz in SDHCI_CAPABILTIES which may or may not be equal to the actual
base clock frequency. This is because the clock rate is configured by
the clock controller, which is external to the SD/MMC controller. Since
the SD/MMC controller has no knowledge of how this clock is configured,
it will simply report the maximum frequency. While the reported value
can be overridden by setting BASE_CLK_FREQ in VENDOR_CLOCK_CTRL on
Tegra30 and later SoCs, just set CAP_CLOCK_BASE_BROKEN and supply
sdhci_pltfm_clk_get_max_clock(), which simply does a clk_get_rate(),
as the get_max_clock() callback.

Program TEGRA_SDHCI_VENDOR_MISC_CTRL so that UHS modes aren't advertised
in SDHCI_CAPABILITIES_1. While the Tegra SDHCI controller does support
these modes, they require Tegra-specific tuning and calibration routines
which the driver does not support yet.

f8ec589b86 ("mmc: sdhci-dove: allow GPIOs to be used for card detection
on Dove" added a gpio based card detect interrupt handler that was hooked
up into card_tasket.
3560db8e24 ("mmc: sdhci: push card_tasklet into threaded irq handler")
now removed that very card_tasklet causing sdhci-dove to fail on build
with:
drivers/mmc/host/sdhci-dove.c: In function 'sdhci_dove_carddetect_irq':
drivers/mmc/host/sdhci-dove.c:42:24: error: 'struct sdhci_host' has no member named 'card_tasklet'
To fix both the build error and get a working gpio card detection without
card_tasklet, replace sdhci_get_of_property() with more recent
mmc_of_parse(). It takes care of gpio-based card detect passed through DT
already and allows to remove the offending code sections dealing with
removed card_tasklet.

DT-enabled Dove moved over from ARCH_DOVE in mach-dove to MACH_DOVE in
mach-mvebu. As non-DT ARCH_DOVE will stay to rot for a while, add a new
DT-only MACH_DOVE Kconfig. This slipped through the cracks and now is
a fix to allow to build Dove's SDHCI driver for mach-mvebu on v3.15-rc.
