Its feasible based on how the PCI address map is setup that the region
of PCI address space used for MSIs differs for each PHB on the same SoC.
Instead of assuming that the address mappes to CCSRBAR 1:1 we read
PEXCSRBAR (BAR0) for the PHB that the given pci_dev is on.

The latest QE chip may have more Serial Number(SNUM)s of thread to use. We
will get the number of SNUMs from device tree by reading the new property
"fsl,qe-num-snums", and set 28 as the default number of SNUMs so that it is
compatible with the old QE chips' device trees which don't have this new
property. The macro QE_NUM_OF_SNUM is defined as the maximum number in QE
snum table which is 256.
Also we update the snum_init[] array with 18 more new SNUMs which are
confirmed to be useful on new chip.

Also, convert them to resource_size_t (which is unsigned long
on 64-bit, so it's not a change there).
We will be using these on fsl 32b to indicate the start and size
address of memory that the pci controller can actually reach - this
is needed to determine if an address requires bounce buffering. For
now, initialize them to a standard value; in the near future, the
value will be calculated based on how the inbound windows are
programmed.

Before when we were setting up the irq host map for mpic we passed in
just isu_size for the size of the linear map. However, for a number of
mpic implementations we have no isu (thus pass in 0) and will end up
with a no linear map (size = 0). This causes us to always call
irq_find_mapping() from mpic_get_irq().
By moving the allocation of the host map to after we've determined the
number of sources we can actually benefit from having a linear map for
the non-isu users that covers all the interrupt sources.

This patch tweaks the way some PTE bit combinations are defined, in such a
way that the 32 and 64-bit variant become almost identical and that will
make it easier to bring in a new common pte-* file for the new variant
of the Book3-E support.
The combination of bits defining access to kernel pages are now clearly
separated from the combination used by userspace and the core VM. The
resulting generated code should remain identical unless I made a mistake.
Note: While at it, I removed a non-sensical statement related to CONFIG_KGDB

The PCI 2.x cells used on some 44x SoCs only let us configure the decode
for the low 32-bit of the incoming PLB addresses. The top 4 bits (this
is a 36-bit bus) are hard wired to different values depending on the
specific SoC in use. Our code used to work "by accident" until I added
support for the ISA memory holes and while at it added more validity
checking of the addresses.
This patch should bring it back to working condition. It still relies
on the device-tree being correct but that's somewhat a pre-requisite

Provides a small speedup when accessing pefetchable ranges. To indicate
that a memory range is prefetchable, mark it in the dts file with 42000000
instead of 02000000.
A powepc pci_controller is allowed three memory ranges, any of which may be
prefetchable. However, the PCI-PCI bridge configuration space only has one
field for "non-prefetchable memory behind bridge", which has a 32 bit
address, and one field for "prefetchable memory behind bridge", which may
have a 64 bit address. These are PCI bus addresses, not CPU physical
addresses.
So really you're only allowed one memory range of each type. And if you
want the range at a PCI address above 32 bits you must make it
prefetchable.

The code that sets up the outbound ATMU windows, which is used to map CPU
physical addresses into PCI bus addresses where BARs will be mapped, didn't
work so well.
For one, it leaked the ioremap() of the ATMU registers. Another small bug
was the high 20 bits of the PCI bus address were left as zero. It's legal
for prefetchable memory regions to be above 32 bits, so the high 20 bits
might not be zero.
Mainly, it couldn't handle ranges that were not a power of two in size or
were not naturally aligned. The ATMU windows have these requirements (size
& alignment), but the code didn't bother to check if the ranges it was
programming met them. If they didn't, the windows would silently be
programmed incorrectly.
This new code can handle ranges which are not power of two sized nor
naturally aligned. It simply splits the ranges into multiple valid ATMU
windows. As there are only four windows, pooly aligned or sized ranges
(which didn't even work before) may run out of windows. In this case an
error is printed and an effort is made to disable the unmapped resources.
An improvement that could be made would be to make use of the default
outbound window. Iff hose->pci_mem_offset is zero, then it's possible that
some or all of the ranges might not need an outbound window and could just
use the default window.
The default ATMU window can support a pci_mem_offset less than zero too,
but pci_mem_offset is unsigned. One could say the abilities allowed a
powerpc pci_controller is neither subset nor a superset of the abilities of
a Freescale PCIe controller. Thankfully, the most useful bits are in the
intersection of the two abilities.

The driver supports very simple GPIO controllers, that is, when a
controller provides just a 'data' register. Such controllers may be
found in various BCSRs (Board's FPGAs used to control board's
switches, LEDs, chip-selects, Ethernet/USB PHY power, etc).
So far we support only 1-byte GPIO banks. Support for other widths may
be implemented when/if needed.

With this API we're able to set a QE pin to the GPIO mode or a dedicated
peripheral function.
The API relies on the fact that QE gpio controllers are registered. If
they aren't, the API won't work (gracefully though).
There is one caveat though: if anybody occupied the node->data before us,
or overwrote it, then bad things will happen. Luckily this is all in the
platform code that we fully control, so this should never happen.
I could implement more checks (for example we could create a list of
successfully registered QE controllers, and compare the node->data in the
qe_pin_request()), but this is unneeded if nobody is going to do silly
things behind our back.

Fix trivial conflict in drivers/char/Makefile as per Paul's directions
This patch adds MDMA/UDMA support using BestComm for DMA on the MPC5200
platform. Based heavily on previous work by Freescale (Bernard Kuhn,
John Rigby) and Domen Puncer.
With this patch, a SanDisk Extreme IV CF card gets read speeds of
approximately 26.70 MB/sec.

1) ata.h has dst_pa in the wrong place (needs to match what the BestComm
task microcode in bcom_ata_task.c expects); fix it.

this fixes a deadlock issue experienced with heavy DMA occurring on

The buffer descriptors for the ATA BestComm task are larger than the
current definition for bcom_bd. This causes problems because the
various bcom_... functions dereference the buffer descriptor pointer
by using the array operator which doesn't work when the buffer
descriptors are a different size.
This patch adds the bcom_get_bd() function which uses the value in
bcom_task.bd_size to calculate the offset into the BD table. This
patch also changes the definition of bcom_bd to specify a data size
of 0 instead of 1 so that it will never work if anyone attempts to
dereference the bd list as an array (as opposed to something that
might work even though it is wrong).
Finally, this patch moves the definition of bcom_bd up in the file
to eliminate a forward declaration.

Currently there are a number of platforms that open code access to
the ppc_pci_flags global variable. However, that variable is not
present if CONFIG_PCI is not set, which can lead to a build break.
This introduces a number of accessor functions that are defined
to be empty in the case of CONFIG_PCI being disabled. The
various platform files in the kernel are updated to use these.

Kexec/kdump currently fails on the IBM QS2x blades when the kexec happens
on a CPU other than the initial boot CPU. It turns out that this is the
result of mpic_init trying to set affinity of each interrupt vector to the
current boot CPU.
As far as I can tell, the same problem is likely to exist on any
secondary MPIC, because they have to deliver interrupts to the first
output all the time. There are two potential solutions for this: either
not set up affinity at all for secondary MPICs, or assume that a single
CPU output is connected to the upstream interrupt controller and hardcode
affinity to that per architecture.
This patch implements the second approach, defaulting to the first output.
Currently, all known secondary MPICs are routed to their upstream port
using the first destination, so we hardcode that.

The Freescale implementation of MPIC only allows a single CPU destination
for non-IPI interrupts. We add a flag to the mpic_init to distinquish

The init_phy() function attaches to the PHY, then configures the
SerDes<->TBI link (in SGMII mode). The TBI is on the MDIO bus with the PHY
(sort of) and is accessed via the gianfar's MDIO registers, using the
functions gfar_local_mdio_read/write(), which don't do any locking.
The previously attached PHY will start a work-queue on a timer, and
probably an irq handler as well, which will talk to the PHY and thus use
the MDIO bus. This uses phy_read/write(), which have locking, but not
against the gfar_local_mdio versions.
The result is that PHY code will try to use the MDIO bus at the same time
as the SerDes setup code, corrupting the transfers.
Setting up the SerDes before attaching to the PHY will insure that there is
no race between the SerDes code and *our* PHY, but doesn't fix everything.
Typically the PHYs for all gianfar devices are on the same MDIO bus, which
is associated with the first gianfar device. This means that the first
gianfar's SerDes code could corrupt the MDIO transfers for a different
gianfar's PHY.
The lock used by phy_read/write() is contained in the mii_bus structure,
which is pointed to by the PHY. This is difficult to access from the
gianfar drivers, as there is no link between a gianfar device and the
mii_bus which shares the same MDIO registers. As far as the device layer
and drivers are concerned they are two unrelated devices (which happen to
share registers).
Generally all gianfar devices' PHYs will be on the bus associated with the
first gianfar. But this might not be the case, so simply locking the
gianfar's PHY's mii bus might not lock the mii bus that the SerDes setup
code is going to use.
We solve this by having the code that creates the gianfar platform device
look in the device tree for an mdio device that shares the gianfar's
registers. If one is found the ID of its platform device is saved in the
gianfar's platform data.
A new function in the gianfar mii code, gfar_get_miibus(), can use the bus
ID to search through the platform devices for a gianfar_mdio device with
the right ID. The platform device's driver data is the mii_bus structure,
which the SerDes setup code can use to lock the current bus.

There are now two almost identical implementations of an MSI bitmap
allocator, one in mpic_msi.c and the other in fsl_msi.c.
Merge them together and put the result in msi_bitmap.c. Some of the
MPIC bits will remain to provide a nicer interface for the MPIC users.
In the process we fix two buglets. The first is that the allocation
routines, now msi_bitmap_alloc_hwirqs(), returned an unsigned result,
even though they use -1 to indicate allocation failure. Although all
the callers were checking correctly, it is much better for the routine
to just return an int. At least until someone wants > ~2 billion MSIs.
The second buglet is that the device tree reservation logic only
allowed power-of-two reservations. AFAICT that didn't effect any
existing code but it's nicer if we can reserve arbitrary irqs from MSI
use.
We also add some selftests, which exposed the two buglets and now test
for them, as well as some basic sanity tests. The tests are only built

The 440EPx/GRx chips don't support PCI MRM commands. Drivers determine this
by looking for a zero value in the PCI cache line size register. However,
some drivers write to this register upon initialization. This can cause
MRMs to be used on these chips, which may cause deadlocks on PLB4.
The workaround implemented here introduces a new indirect_type flag, called
PPC_INDIRECT_TYPE_BROKEN_MRM. This is set in the pci_controller structure in
the pci fixup function for 4xx PCI bridges by determining if the bridge is
compatible with 440EPx/GRx. The flag is checked in the indirect_write_config
function, and forces any writes to the PCI_CACHE_LINE_SIZE register to be
zero, which will disable MRMs for these chips.
A similar workaround has been tested by AMCC on various PCI cards, such as
the Silicon Image ATA card and Intel E1000 GIGE card. Hangs were seen with
the Silicon Image card, and MRMs were seen on the bus with a PCI analyzer.
With the workaround in place, the card functioned properly and only Memory
Reads were seen on the bus with the analyzer.

This is very trivial patch. We're transitioning to the cpm_muram_*

Less trivial changes:
- BD_SC_* defines were defined in the cpm.h and qe.h, so to avoid redefines
we remove BD_SC from the qe.h and use cpm.h along with cpm_muram_*
prototypes;
- qe_muram_dump was unused and thus removed;
- added some code to the cpm_common.c to support legacy QE bindings
(data-only node name).
- For convenience, define qe_* calls to cpm_*. So drivers need not to be
changed.

GTM stands for General-purpose Timers Module and able to generate
timer{1,2,3,4} interrupts. These timers are used by the drivers that
need time precise interrupts (like for USB transactions scheduling for
the Freescale USB Host controller as found in some QE and CPM chips),
or these timers could be used as wakeup events from the CPU deep-sleep

Things unimplemented:
1. Cascaded (32 bit) timers (1-2, 3-4).
This is straightforward to implement when needed, two timers should

With the recent DCR code rework, we get a compiler warning about

Signed-off-by: Josh Boyer <jwboyer@linux.vnet.ibm.com>
Previously, DCR support was configured at compile time to either use
MMIO or native dcr instructions. Although this works for most
platforms, it fails on FPGA platforms:
1) Systems may include more than one DCR bus.
2) Systems may be native DCR capable and still use memory mapped DCR interface.
This patch provides runtime support based on the device trees for the
case where CONFIG_PPC_DCR_MMIO and CONFIG_PPC_DCR_NATIVE are both
selected. Previously, this was a poorly defined configuration, which
happened to provide NATIVE support. The runtime selection is made
based on the dcr-controller having a 'dcr-access-method' attribute
in the device tree. If only one of the above options is selected,
then the code uses #defines to select only the used code in order to
avoid introducing overhead in existing usage.

The original RapidIO driver suppose there is only one mpc85xx RIO controller
in system. So, some data structures are defined as mpc85xx_rio global, such
as 'regs_win', 'dbell_ring', 'msg_tx_ring'. Now, I changed them to mport's
private members. And you can define multi RIO OF-nodes in dts file for multi
RapidIO controller in one processor, such as PCI/PCI-Ex host controllers in
Freescale's silicon. And the mport operation function declaration should be

Alter the block device ->direct_access() API to work with the new
get_xip_mem() API (that requires both kaddr and pfn are returned).
Some architectures will not do the right thing in their virt_to_page() for use
by XIP (to translate from the kernel virtual address returned by
direct_access(), to a user mappable pfn in XIP's page fault handler.
However, we can't switch it to just return the pfn and not the kaddr, because
we have no good way to get a kva from a pfn, and XIP requires the kva for its
read(2) and write(2) handlers. So we have to return both.

The mv643xx_eth driver is being modified to support multiple instances
of the ethernet silicon block on the same platform. Each block contains
a single register bank containing the registers for up to three ports
interleaved within that bank. This patch updates the PowerPC OF to
platform_device glue code to support multiple silicon blocks, each
with up to three ethernet ports. The main difference is that we now
allow multiple mv64x60_shared platform_devices to be registered and
we provide each port platform_device with a pointer to its associated
shared platform_device. The pointer will not be used until the
mv643xx_eth driver changes are committed.

The "bestcomm-core" driver defines its of_match table as follows
static struct of_device_id mpc52xx_bcom_of_match[] = {
{ .type = "dma-controller", .compatible = "fsl,mpc5200-bestcomm", },
{ .type = "dma-controller", .compatible = "mpc5200-bestcomm", },
{},
};
so while registering the driver, the driver's probe function won't be
called, because the device tree node doesn't have a device_type
property. Thus the driver's bcom_engine structure won't be allocated.
Referencing this structure later causes observed Oops.
Checking bcom_eng pointer for NULL before referencing data pointed
by it prevents oopsing, but fec driver still doesn't work (because
of the lost bestcomm match and resulted task allocation failure).
Actually the compatible property exists and should match and so
the fec driver should work.
This removes .type = "dma-controller" from the bestcomm driver's
mpc52xx_bcom_of_match table to solve the problem.

The functions of_find_compatible_node and of_find_node_by_type both
call of_node_get on their result. So any error handling code
thereafter should call of_node_put(np). This is taken care of in the
case where there is a goto out, but not when there is a direct return.
The function irq_alloc_host puts np into the returned structure, which is
stored in the global variable mpc8xx_pic_host, so the reference count
should be set for the lifetime of that variable. The current solution ups
the reference count again in the argument to irq_alloc_host so that it can
be decremented on the way out. This seems a bit unnecessary, and also
doesn't work in the case where irq_alloc_host fails, because then the
reference count only goes does by one, whereas it should go down by two. A
better solution is to not increment the reference count in the argument to
irq_alloc_host and only decrement it on the way out in an error case.
The problem was found using the following semantic match.

This patch extends the Ebony and Walnut platform code to instantiate
the existing ds1742 RTC class driver for the DS1743 RTC/NVRAM chip
found on both those boards. The patch uses a helper function to scan
the device tree and instantiate the appropriate platform_device based
on it, so it should be easy to extend for other boards which have mmio
mapped RTC chips.
Along with this, the device tree binding for the ds1743 chips is
tweaked, based on the existing DS1385 OF binding found at:
http://playground.sun.com/1275/proposals/Closed/Remanded/Accepted/346-it.txt
Although that document covers the NVRAM portion of the chip, whereas
here we're interested in the RTC portion, so it's not entirely clear
if that's a good model.
This implements only RTC class driver support - that is /dev/rtc0, not
/dev/rtc, and the low-level get/set time callbacks remain
unimplemented. That means in order to get at the clock you will
either need a modified version of hwclock which will look at
/dev/rtc0, or you'll need to configure udev to symlink rtc0 to rtc.

Because of how big mapping the config space is (1M per bus), we limit how
many busses we support for now. In the long run, we could replace that
with something akin to kmap_atomic instead.
This patch changes the limit from currently 16 to 64.

By default the OpenPIC on PWRficient will bias to one core (since that
will improve changes of the other core being able to stay idle/powered
down). However, this conflicts with most irq load balancing schemes,
since setting an interrupt to be delivered to either core doesn't really
result in the load being shared. It also doesn't work well with the
soft irq disable feature of PPC, since EE will stay on until the first
interrupt is taken while soft disabled.
Set the gconf0 config bit that enables even distribution of interrupts
among the two cores.

Some PWRficient-based boards have a NMI button that's wired up to a GPIO
as interrupt source. By configuring the openpic accordingly, these get
delivered as a machine check with high priority, instead of as an external
interrupt.
The device tree contains a property "nmi-source" in the openpic node
for these systems, and it's the (hwirq) source for the input.
Also, for these interrupts, the IACK is read from another register than
the regular (MCACK instead), but they are EOI'd as usual. So implement
said function for the mpic driver.
Finally, move a couple of external function defines to include/ instead
of local under sysdev. Being able to mask/unmask and eoi directly saves
us from setting up a dummy irq handler that will never be called.

This is a UIC cascade handler rework to use set_irq_chained_handler() for
cascade, just like othe ppc platforms do. With current implementation we have
additional redirection for irq handler and we call generic_handle_irq twice
(once for the primary uic and the other time for handling cascade interrupt).
This causes Ingo's realtime support patch to stop working on 4xx.
Not sure of any other possible problems though, but with
set_irq_chained_handler() we can abolish "struct irqaction cascade" from the
chip descriptor and call generic_handle_irq() once, directly for cascade irq.

This patch makes PowerPC 4xx UIC use generic level irq handler instead
of a custom handle_uic_irq() function. We ack only edge irqs in mask_ack
callback, since acking a level irq on UIC has no effect if the interrupt
is still asserted by the device, even if the interrupt is already masked.
So, to really de-assert the interrupt we need to de-assert the external
source first *and* ack it on UIC then. The handle_level_irq() function
masks and ack's the interrupt with mask_ack callback prior to calling
the actual ISR and unmasks it at the end. So, to use it with UIC interrupts
we need to ack level irqs in the unmask callback instead, after the ISR
has de-asserted the external interrupt source. Even if we ack the interrupt
that we didn't handle (unmask/ack it at the end of the handler, while
next irq is already pending) it will not de-assert the irq, untill we
de-assert its exteral source.

chips are equipped with a slighly different PCIe core and need special/
different initialization. The compatible node is changed to
"plb-pciex-440spe" ("A" and "B" dropped). This is needed for boards that

This improves the way the 4xx PCI-E code handles checking for a link
and adds explicit testing of CRS result codes on config space accesses.
This should make it more reliable.
Also, bridges with no link are now still created, though config space
accesses beyond the root complex are filtered. This is one step toward
eventually supporting hotplug.

This adds to the previous 2 patches the support for the 4xx PCI Express
cells as found in the 440SPe revA, revB and 405EX.
Unfortunately, due to significant differences between these, and other
interesting "features" of those pieces of HW, the code isn't as simple
as it is for PCI and PCI-X and some of the functions differ significantly
between the 3 implementations. Thus, not only this code can only support
those 3 implementations for now and will refuse to operate on any other,
but there are added ifdef's to avoid the bloat of building a fairly large
amount of code on platforms that don't need it.
Also, this code currently only supports fully initializing root complex
nodes, not endpoint. Some more code will have to be lifted from the
arch/ppc implementation to add the endpoint support, though it's mostly
differences in memory mapping, and the question on how to represent
endpoint mode PCI in the device-tree is thus open.

pci_assign_all_busses global, that allow us to control various
aspects of the PCI probing, such as whether to re-assign all
resources or not, or to not try to assign anything at all.

on bridges that don't have ISA forwarding enabled (no legacy

Implement MSI support for PA Semi PWRficient platforms. MSI is done
through a special range of sources on the openpic controller, and they're
unfortunately breaking the usual concepts of how sources are programmed:
* The source is calculated as 512 + the value written into the MSI
register
* The vector for this source is added to the source and reported
through IACK
This means that for simplicity, it makes much more sense to just set the
vector to 0 for the source, since that's really the vector we expect to
see from IACK.
Also, the affinity/priority registers will affect 16 sources at a
time. To avoid most (simple) users from being limited by this, allocate
16 sources per device but use only one. This means that there's a total
of 32 sources.
If we get usage scenarions that need more sources, the allocator should
probably be revised to take an alignment argument and size, not just do
natural alignment.
Finally, since I'm already touching the MPIC names on pasemi, rename
the base one from the somewhat odd " PAS-OPIC " to "PASEMI-OPIC".

Now that all users of dcr_read()/dcr_write() add the dcr_host_t.base, we
can save them the trouble and do it in dcr_read()/dcr_write().
As some background to why we just went through all this jiggery-pokery,
benh sayeth:
Initially the goal of the dcr_read/dcr_write routines was to operate like
mfdcr/mtdcr which take absolute DCR numbers. The reason is that on 4xx
hardware, indirect DCR access is a pain (goes through a table of
instructions) and it's useful to have the compiler resolve an absolute DCR
inline.
We decided that wasn't worth the API bastardisation since most places
where absolute DCR values are used are low level 4xx-only code which may
as well continue using mfdcr/mtdcr, while the new API is designed for
device "instances" that can exist on 4xx and Axon type platforms and may
be located at variable DCR offsets.
